I remember seeing this, and being just horrified. This has to be one of the worst things I've seen in a while, the fact that this baby survived is amazing.

I don't think the mother is in the wrong, she just took her hands off the pram to pull her pants up. How was she to know that the platform had a slope.

Herself and the train driver will need serious counselling after this.

Yeah, the conductor was great in that part. The mother I don't hate, it was a simple mistake. She should just be a bit more careful next time, and put on some breaks. I wouldn't take the baby away or something.

Mad props to the conductor for reactin' so quickly. If you look closely, you can see the train didn't go to end of the platform like it normally would. That emergency brake saved the baby's life.

And everyone gettin' on the mother's case needs to calm the hell down.

Don't be so harsh on her everyone, it was a mistake - it could have happened to ANYONE. All it took was a few seconds' lapsed attention, and I'm sure no one has never let their guard down for a moment.

Think about how traumatised she must be. Everytime the clip plays I just can't help feeling such sympathy for the helpless grief she must have felt as the train passed over her child. I'm sure even the intense relief of finding it still alive will not cancel out the trauma of those moments.

She probably feels like the worst mother in the world. Had that train not put on the emergency breaks, her baby would have most likely died. She was given a second chance. Not all people are able to get that.
