"Good old iron sights would evade this sniper detector instrument". Well if the enemy refrained from using scopes and went over to iron sights we have dealt him a serius blow when it comes to combat efficiency, since iron sights are far inferior. Can we achieve this it is worth using this equipment. The big minus is if the enemy is using laser detectors and then spots our emitted laser.
So the enemy will quickly learn to place bicycle reflectors all over the freaking place. like chaff to confuse radar. 100 reflectors and one sniper, where is he?
but there is something called coated lenses. it should stop any mirroring of light( in films we see the lenses of snipers because of suns glare on them today coated lenses prevent this it uses interference of light to stop any reflections) but it can stop only light between some wavelenghts and ir light is not between it i think. but if this thing gets common they will make it cover ir light too
@Paulo412349 This is a very good system ! They should integrated this system in a 50cal remote controlled turret on a armed vehicle. who will win then ?
What about electronic scopes? That is, ones without lenses, that take a digital image and enhance / magnify it. I'm sure they've got those somewhere, haha.
well, i don't think anyone would call this system a perfect solution. But let's face it, it is a pretty good tool to detect rag-tag snipers, in some shithole country.
charger223--so my videos about the gov using 166,000 Nagasaki Bombs Worth of Depleted uranium
ammunition from just one bomb factory out of 4 manufacturers every day is not a important video and you think i should pull my videos,,,well Fuck you Monster!!
when the whole would went nuts over India's and Pakistani setting off 18 nuclear bobs ,u say 166,000 a day of the same radiation is bothering you fuck you monster
No filter can fool this product. Many groups in the military are successfully using this product. This product not only can find snipers but also scopes and binoculars.
yeah it just shoots light out and any reflections appear as bright lights on the view. and theres no way for the Ts to counteract either, since they gotta have polished glass optics :D woot
Basically that is right, but it is much more sophisticated than that. It only highlights items that have the characteristics of optics, such as scopes or binoculars. Eyeglasses, basic lenses would not show up.
Yea that is neat and all but anyone with night vision on is going to see you shining a huge ass beam and shoot you dead.

And you could easily make a system to spread aluminum foils over a very large area... But should be very handy in forest conditions...

Actually a red coating would absorb the lights within the red branch of the spectrum.
Grospoliner 2 years ago
what happens if you lens had a blue tint,, wouldn't that make you invisible because blue absorbs infrared

jellofast 2 years ago
At the expense of longer-range accuracy.

Ohh yeah, did you see how this guy is exposed? In real combat situation a bullet would be put on his head long before he could locate them...

Iron sights are good up to 300 yards for me. Spot the dude with the funny binoculars and drill him first.

Im sure the sniper can also use a filter and im sure a good sniper wont let you stand there alive very long if he spot you first . dumb project.
