this is bullshit people!! this guy obviously is just making the HTC look bad.
think of it this way, its like Chevy makes commercials on how the "Ford" cant do certain things, Then Ford does commercials basically on the same thing!, and they go back and forth, its bullshit!..
and by looking at his other videos, he literally doesn't have a life since he works on iphones all day..so of course he's going to make the iphone look better..
First off all you apple sheeps. if you don't know you should shut the fuck up. the fuckin HTC Wildfire's audio is better than what we saw, how stupid can all of you be? This was a set up, the uploader is a fuckin apple sheep!!!!!!!
android os is already RAPING the iphone OS. it's like the whole apple vs microsoft war all over. EXCEPT WITH GOOGLE INSTEAD! not only is android getting better. But it's apps are also growing at a RAPID pace, developers are starting to like it better than apple's because there aren't as many restrictions.
After using the Droid 1 and the Droid X, I just got the iPhone 4 on Verizon. There's literally no noise in low-light conditions. The framerate and the metering remains fluid regardless of the setting, truly impressive. Does it have to do with being a CMOS sensor also with the backlighting? Both Droids seemed to barely pick up anything in the dark, with a lot of video noise.
I am a droid incredible user myself, and this video is legit. I love the phone, but the incredible performs poorly when it comes to changing light conditions.
@trinimark123abc You can already get one. It's called the Evo 4G on sprint. Exact same phone. Or Desire HD, choose your flavor. Either way it's nothing new.
This video looks fishy to me...the HTC Incredible is recording like a camera flip phone from 2004...i'm not buying it one bit..this guy is obviously an iPhone user and most likely has the settings low quality for the Droid and high quality for the iPhone...no other explanation...i'm very familiar with both phones and i call BULLSHIT!
Your Incredible must be defective. Mine is excellent... oh and there must have been another OTA update on the Incredible because in my settings I CAN record on H.264 encoding on HTC Incredible.
Also look how good this video looks... make sure to watch it in HD =]
Iphone 4 has the best video quality. I have the EVO 4G and I still think the Iphone 4 shoots better video. Although, photo quality on EVO is significantly better, the video audio on the Iphone 4 is better. I also wish the EVO would shoot in Macro like the Iphone 4. Maybe the 2nd version of the EVO will address this issues.
I happend to get the complete opposite results with my incredible. I actually have a video on my account of me and some friends but besides that i was next to a busy road during rush hour and the sound and picture quality was better then then i was expecting. The lighting was great also.
Who cares? Verizon said they dont want the IPHONE trash. So record all you want. but you will have to wait til you get home to show your video, because you wont be sharing much on that shit ass AT&T network bitches. Drooiiiid!
this is the incredible recording video and sound? i want no part of it...i'm trying to decide between the droid x and incredible right now, droid x has to be better at recording than the incredible, right?
BULSHIT... IPHONE AND INCREDIBLE ARE BOTH GOOD PHONES BUT THIS MADE THE INCREDIBLE LOOK LIKE SHIT. AND I KNOW FROM EXPERIANCE THE SOUND IS NOT THAT BAD ON THE INCRDIBLE
@Tmask32 Bullshit all you want. The numbers don't lie. Open your HTC incredible footage in ANY media player and view the codec details. The audio is in FACT recorded at 8-9 khz AMR. This is not something pulled out but stated 100% fact. FACT, it is also stated by HTC. What you hear and what the STATED fact remains. 8-9 KHZ AMR format for the audio.
Okay, you have to set the metering mode correctly or I expect the video camera to fluctuate in the exposure... I don't believe the iPhone has multiple metering modes so it probably averages everything where as the incredible has 3 different types of metering.
@MidEngine4Life You get your facts right theres already 720p on the incredible as of such a long time and i should know because i own a (Rooted) droid incredible!!!
@MidEngine4Life You get your facts right theres already 720p on the incredible as of such a long time and i should know because i own a (Rooted) droid incredible!!!

Wow, The Incredible sucks at taking video, Ratcheting shutter, inability to adjust to florescent lights in outdoor shooting, Night video really shows how bad the sensor/software package is...
Using spot metering put the HTC incredible at a disadvantage, that is why it is going dark to light when you move towards the sky. Spot metering means it is metering the light of the scene from just the very center of the frame. When you move that center of frame into a lighter area it meters for the sky which in turn makes the foreground dark. You would have gotten better results with evaluative metering in that situation. That being said I do not know what you used for the iphone.
@vonedaddy The metering doesn't really make a difference on the HTC in video mode. The shifts will happen regardless if you are in center or avg. mode. The spot metering is suppose to lock the exposure in a neutral area when you tap anywhere on the screen. It shouldn't make sudden exposure change like that. I can make another video and the results will be the same. iPhone was 100% automatic.
@yellowbrothersf I would love to see another video with similar lighting conditions with the incredible set to evaluative metering. I am not calling you out I just do not think you really have a full understanding of what the different metering modes do. Spot metering is just that, it meters for light in just one spot of the frame, whether it be the center or where ever you tap. When you move that spot to a different lighting it will re-meter or adjust according to that one spot.
@vonedaddy I'll make one against the Galaxy S. The results were the same. Even with "average" (evaluative), there are still sudden shifts. I connected the phone to the SDK debugger and the debug logs shows the software will overcompensate regardless.
I think if there was software to record in h.264 w/ better metering, the HTC cams may meet parity. However, the iPhone 4's 5 megapixel sensor is better suited for low-light and motion.
HTC uses a OmniVision OV8810 w/1.4 µm square pixels with a sensitivity of 650 mV/lux-sec. iPhone 4’s OV5650 sensor has a sensitivity of 1300 mV/lux-sec & pixel sizes 1.75 µm square. So even w/ software upgrades, the iPhone still has a slight advantage.
@NIK516 I spot metered because I wanted to lock the exposure in. I wanted to avoid the sudden shifts in exposure changes. Unfortunately, even with spot metering, the HTC phone will still try to over-compensate and you can see the slow shift and horrible underexposure. If I didn't, I'd be accused of not giving the HTC the optimal setting. You can reproduce everything I film using the settings I made. I want people to know the video is not rigged in any fashion. What you see is what you get.
@MrUndeadSoldier13 The Official over-the-air update is forthcoming. 720p is one of the new features. Many people have already installed the update. Go to xda-developers for instructions on how to update your phone.

And yet AGAIN, the iPhone comes out on top. The HTC is not so incredible after all.
Just goes to show how "resolution" does NOT equal quality.
Take that from someone who has been in the photography/videography industry for over 15 years.
HTC, you fail yet AGAIN to topple the iPhone. Maybe you guys should put more "Megapixels" in it LoL. More, more, more.

Can the Evo get an software update for camera to make it better? or is it the hardware inside the phone?
