  • Red team Rules

  • Its not that hard to play rugby if your really small. Just workout your shoulders and make them big. Go low and aggresive in a tackle. Drive your shoulder into their stomach and push up. Haha

  • I love rguby and i love Mothy Python <3

  • If this is what they teach you at public school, I'm glad I went comprehensive.

  • For a superbly witty & good humoured look at the meaning of life try, ' The reason driven life' by top author Robert M. Price. Also authors John W. Loftus, Dan Barker, Valerie Tarico, Victor J. Stenger on youtube

  • This is almost as good as the ending to "Stanley's Cup" episode of South Park, I love it!

  • FYI, the girl the guy's having sex with is Patricia Quinn, who played Magenta in Rocky Horror.

  • What's funny Biggs?

  • Only the Pythons could think of combining the divine music of Johann Sebastian Bach with this vulgar display of power; and the elder authority folk getting mad about the little boys getting beaten up by the juvenile ruffians is a class for itself; though I sometimes doubt the mental sanity of the Pythons but due to their conservative attitude – no one has ever mocked the sectarian leftist liberation nonsense better than they did in The Life of Brian - I enjoy their nonsense very much.

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar Thats just really complicated.

  • @MaestroLongboarder: This is a rather erratic remark; is there something about my statement complicated or about the Pythons?

  • @FireEyedMaidOfWar

Wrong about the music I'm afraid.

They are clearly referencing the 70s film "Rollerball" whose main theme is this piece.

Rollerball is set in the future when it is the most popular and most brutal sport, used by the corporate elite to keep the masses entertained. The movie features some well-staged games where we are treated to numerous moments of carnage and death in the arena - to which this scene bears some similarities.

  • @jazzx251: I think not, as this jest is clearly aimed at the mistreatment of the youngsters in this upper class educational institutions; and all gladiator games depend on having equal opponents in order to make the games exciting; but here we see a grotesque farce, though only the Pythons themselves could declare what their jests satirises.

  • u all sound like pussys haha its a great game

  • 1:03

    Lol

  • This actually seems less sadistic than the experiences I went through as a rugby player...

  • 27 people got selected to play for the boys team

  • 1:00-1:05 :)))

  • @ the great historian I play prop and evryone is bigger than me they do not expect small people to be good props

  • Monty Python, the only guys who can make child abuse funny.

  • I played american football for 8 years from when I was a kid all the way till I was a senior in high school. I went to school at a place that didnt have a football team so I kind of just fell into rugby and have been playing the last 2 years. Best fucking sport around, football doesnt have shit on it.

  • This is what the teachers try to do every year at the local high school when its prefects vs teachers lmao

  • I think that this was every child's gym class nightmare.

  • Don't you wonder what would happen if we made all the people who wrote hate comments about American football play American football, and all the people who wrote hate comments about rugby actually play rugby?

Maybe then they'd all get an appreciation for each sport. No sport is easy, that's why athletes train so hard to be the best at what they do.

Now this is a hilarious video, so enough with the Rugby vs. American Football stuff!

  • im an american, i play club rugby for a university in the south. seriously now, to me, american football looks weak ever since i started playing rugby

  • @iwaslikepfffft Hahah, it's weird. I'm English, and play American Football in University... and the complete opposite has happened to me! :)

  • @hardieross haha, interesting, i think rugby is more fun

  • ENGLAND - ITALY HIGHLIGHTS (six nations 12.02.2011)

  • Which orchestra did this version in the video?

  • Rugby and American Football are 2 totally different sports. Rugby players could not play pro football, and pro football players could not play pro rugby... with a few exceptions on both sides.

  • @newcombstrohschein

The best kickers in rugby can be good on special teams. (Gavin Hastings formerly of Scotland springs to mind)

  • HAHAHAHAHHAAHHAAAAA

  • well played, well played...

  • American footballers were pads Cos their pussies

Rugby a proper sport which isn't just big i'n 1 country cough cough American football, basketball, baseball and any other shitty sport the americans make lol

  • 1:03 - isn't that the Jets' defensive coach?

  • @swamprats13 I was thinking the same thing

  • LMAO! omg that was so funny! the best was :52 when they just beatng the kid on the floor!

  • all their players shud hav sent off

  • All in all you're just another brick in the wall.

  • Really quite a fine analogy for American politics nowadays, I'd say. The sadistic masters are the Republicans and the hapless little boys are the Dems. If you don't agree with me, sir, get stuffed. Have a nice day.

  • Who are the dumbasses on top? Who bruoght up football anyway. I love both sports but its dumb bitches who probably suck at both sports to start sayin that . I dont see anyone talking shit about rugby. So all im sayin is dont talk shit about something under a video thats got nuthin to do with your comment.

  • this is purely brilliant :) :) :)

  • This really reminded me of my public school experience... 12 years of playing that bloody game, it's brutal. I myself was in the D team, the highest being A. The D team was for the people who had something mentally or physically wrong with them. Ie. Nerds.

We all begged for cricket season to come quicker, at least you could get the bat in your hands and give those balls a good walloping.

  • @WardleVonAwesome ahahahah !! class ! :D

  • @WardleVonAwesome this game is fking awesome, we barely play it in our school

  • "Before I begin the lesson, will those of you who are playing in the match this afternoon move your clothes down onto the lower peg immediately after lunch, before you write your letter home, if you're not getting your hair cut, unless you've got a younger brother who is going out this weekend as the guest of another boy, in which case, collect his note before lunch, put it in your letter after you've had your hair cut, and make sure he moves your clothes down onto the lower peg for you."

  • 0:40 nice tackling, lol

  • 0:31

that ball is huge (no homo)

  • ahh. i love rugby :)

  • What is the name of this song?

  • @thorakatheef

    Bach's Toccata and Fugue

It was the main theme of the classic brutal futuristic sports movie "Rollerball".

That's why they use it here.

(I used it for my own video depicting Rangers v Celtic)

  • @thorakatheef It's by a composer called J.S. Bach. The name of the tune is "Toccata and Fugue in D-minor".

  • American Footballers are in stripes, yes?

  • The play like South Africans

  • Does anyone know the music?

  • @theowarner It's Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor by Bach.

  • ive never played Rugby, lol i take it its FKING brutal!

  • @Rubberduckyofdoomy It certainly can be! But it is always great fun

  • @cjr897

oh man i gotta give Rugby a try!

  • This is how the Alumni match should go..hehehe

  • wheres the blindside at 1:00 ah who cares its still hilarious.

  • es gibt warhafttig nciht besseres als Bach um all das zu untermalen

there is nothing better than Bach for priming this

  • Im pure American and i still think rugby is way more cooler and harder than football

  • Doubt any of you scrawny fucks have ever played any sport at all.

  • Excellent... but I wish you'd included the next couple of seconds.

  • The average pro rugby player is 240lbs. What's your point?

  • You guys must be high on tea. The average american football player is about 245 pounds of steroid induced muscle. I invite any of you to step on the field with even 3rd string linebackers. And we tried it without pads back in the 40's ... too many bones were breaking.

  • @TenTonNuke Yeah? They STILL do it without pads. Bones break in every rugby match played pretty much, and they keep at it, too! American football is a walk in the park compared to rugby. It's fucking brutal.

  • @ihatepreps07 This is very true wasn't one of the Welsh players playing with a a few broken ribs against SA a few weeks ago?

  • @TheCrimsonSmurf aii, and i'm sure Jamie Roberts played for 15 minutes with a fractured skull against Australia after a collision with, i think it was Mortlock.

  • @TenTonNuke LOL most rugby players are 245 pounds anyway

  • I love how John Cleese just pwns that kid at 1:03.

  • 2 of those trys were knocked on...

  • This is basically my entire experience of what, I think we can all agree, is a very fucking stupid sport.

  • @ninhendoman76

    Nah, its not.

  • @ninhendoman76 Stupid or not, it's a classic british sport. Played by far better people than football. I've played hockey, rugby and cricket since I was about 10 and all are much better than football.

  • geraint i bet half the team on the masters are welsh we r awsum dan from - trimsaran - llanelli - scarlets fan

  • Sou mais o Futebol " Brasil" !

  • lol 0:42 "Well done!" hahaha ahh I miss university rugby with the turnout of old boys and academic alumni...as pompous as that makes me sound!

  • I love everyones arguement, describing the similarities between American football and rugby, though I won't take part in it.........Alright rugby is for men and American football is for Boy's.

  • Rugby I believe. Shove you matress and bucket up your arse and welcome a real sport like Rugby. You copied the sport, you copied the name, you were to afraid to go padless so you put a matress and two pillows on your on your players, whoa, talk about originality. After every tackle you wait five minutes, whilst in Rugby, after every tackle you hold on for dear life.

  • that last try was not a try the ball went down out of his hands then he but his hands on the ball.. double movement scrum down my mark yellow ball

  • @waferthin99 Actually it was a try. If you freeze frame it you can see that the ball was grounded over the line on the initial dive THEN the ball came out of his hands. After that he put his hand on the ball again, but the try had already been scored before that.

  • @jutewe WOW haha dident notice that lol well spoted :)

  • total pwnage for those yellow guys :D

  • Of course this is Rugby !! (?)

    Rugby´s for men and women.

    AF for boys and girls.

  • @AlteButterBirne1

thank you for not saying that rugby is a mans sport. :)

  • @everybodys0account I'm Welsh and I agree!!

  • come on this is a movie is not real play rugby and the yanks football sucks and rugby for men en amercian football is for gay

  • this isenì t sugby

  • @MaRcOtheBoS good spelling..... -_-

  • American Football the biggest shit. They look like pussies in their helmets. If you got something in your brain, play Rugby.

who the fuck is interested in American Football ?!?

  • Proving that rugger onion is a upper class toffs game for the tweed jacket brigade.

  • @GanEdenAustralia

Im middle class, went to a public school n all that shit, but I play Union. No disrespect to League, still a good sport.

  • Does anybody know what team the kids are playing against?

  • 15 rugger gays.

  • WTF u on about?

  • rugby is a thugs name played by gentlemen football is a gentlemans game played by thugs and gaelic is a thugs game played by thugs is the full quote

  • Your all so sensitive man! Its comedy laugh at the shit! Don't like it dont watch!

  • @redplague

Firstly, it's rugby is a HOOLIGANS GAME played by gentlemen, football is a gentlemens game by HOOLIGANS

    (thugs??,haha, you ignorent child!)

Secondly, you stole that line from the film Invictus.

  • Oscar Wilde I remember before Invictus.

  • Comment removed

  • Physician, heal thyself.

Or should I say, educate yourself OCFiachra. 'Thugs/barbarians/hooligans are all variants on the original saying, which is attributed to Wilde or possibly Kipling.

  • Just reading a reply to the comment I made and now I've noticed this. What's the matter, haven't got the balls to reply to me directly just incase I notice it. Fucking pussy.

  • @OCFiachra I heard that quote before it was ever said in Invictus, which was a shit movie btw.

  • @Jracine262 Invictus was an amazing movie !

  • @AlteButterBirne1 It was a terrible sports movie, the actual rugby elements were terrible. Other aspects were good.

  • Rugby is a game for thugs played by gentleman, football is a game for gentleman played by thugs.

  • Yes union is but League isn't.

  • Jolly good! Well played!

  • what the song?

  • JS. Bach, Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565

  • Cuz its scary and thats the song that would be going thru my head if i were a kid playing a bunch of men lol

  • the winger gets nailed by a foot out classic! lol

  • Classic scene!

  • what's funny biggs?

  • i play second row :)

  • Nice musik!

  • I've played both. I would agree that League may be more physically demanding, just in terms of the number of carries expected and tackle count necessary, whilst retreating 10 and then getting back up in defence after every tackle is aerobically tough. But the skill set of union players is so much more complete. The intracacies of union (scrum, lineout, breakdown, etc) make it a more complete sport. Only my opinion and i have nothing but respect for league lads, always hard bastards.

  • @ourfc67 at last not just another upper class twat. I agree with you in some ways. I play both codes aswell but i think league is better because of the sheer pace of play, amount of contact and physical demand. I just dont like unions slow pace and the whole upper class shit that says that league is a 'barbarian' sport. I mean what the shit? No offence to you or any other union players this is just my opinion.

  • @BlackBananaMan999, cheers boss. Have actually played alot more league this year, so now have good experience of both, Stand by statement that union is the more compete game, just think the set piece complications and the breakdown make it the more complete sport. But I do enjoy the simple brutality and smash of league. Both good sports, very different though.

  • @ourfc67 Yeah I agree with you in most areas. As im playing union for school and when im not playing league I understand more points of the game. But just from my experience i think that league is better to play and watch. Union is still a great sport i just think that it can too often become a load of shambles like in messed up rooks and mauls. But i respect your opinion and now like union a lot more, haha but i still seem to find most of it boring to watch.

  • @ourfc67 yeah, they're both really hard and VEERYY physically demanding. If you watch league, every hit is to stop the attacker's momentum dead, it's a collision of two mountains! :P And in Union everything is ridiculuosly physical. Although they seems similar they are really different, yet both fun to watch and play :P

  • @ourfc67 And there is less tolerance for injuries in rugby

  • @ourfc67 I've played both too,and I agree totally with your comparison of RL and RU.BTW a useless bit of info:I played on that very same pitch between 1974 and 1977 and two of the games ended 0-60 and 0-90 (we were 12/13 yrs),so very similar to the game on the video!!!Yes,I'm 100% certain about the pitch:it brings back memories.Phil.

  • how can american football be considered "rough" when they've got a crash helmet and enough safety padding to protect them from a nuclear attack?

  • Haha yeah, a game of halftime shows and ad breaks.

  • @gnarkillkicksass : Your spot on, only good thing about american football is the cheerleaders

  • well i love playing both rugby and football and can say from playing football that it is a rough sport. ive gotten numerous concussions, spinal injuries, and broken bones to prove it.

  • @JanineRobin: I see where you're coming from but tbh the padding is needed, i played rugby for 7 years and did nothing to myself but the first time i played american football contact i broke my collar bone

  • @JanineRobin Trust me I have played both and let me tell you the padding is only a false sense of security, LOL

  • @JanineRobin yeah ive played both and the pads do very little, and the helmet is actually more of a weapon than a defense

  • @JanineRobin plus watch some hits as Am. Football players get hit on receptions in the air....thats dangerous shit

  • @JanineRobin its considered tough because they use their helmets like ram horns instead of making proper tackles and rugby is little known in north America.

  • @JanineRobin imagine football players in rugby? we would be in war with european country for murdering ur played by tackling them so hard thats why we have padding and crash helmets

  • @JanineRobin cause their aloud to high tackle and even though some rugby players wear padding i don't personal cause i think it makes my hits weaker but still

  • @JanineRobin THANK YOU! I love how American "football" players think they're so tough when all they do is run into each other and bounce off from the padding. Rugby and real football is more physical than that.

  • @JanineRobin silly person. In Rugby you can only tackle the person with the ball. American Football has blocking. Also many times in Rugby the tackles are at a slower pace. American Football is dynamic Chess, Rugby is fluid and makes use f he foot. Both games are fantastic for different reasons. Though American Football's father is Rugby, hence the 'touchdown' without the touch, and the strange hiking through the legs.

  • @JanineRobin lmao you wanna play a game of american football? i bet you wouldnt last 3 plays.

  • @JanineRobin I'm in Athletic Training in the states, also, I play rugby. Rugby players grab and pull their opponents down while football players tackle with their heads (even though they aren't supposed to) and shoulders forcefully hitting any part of their opponents body that they can and not twisting to the side to take players down. I honestly think that rugby is much more tough, but football players are trained differently and both sports are good.

  • @AislingRoisin you must have a poor tackling technique if you grab and pull ur opponent down. Were Im from we go straight for the ankles no jersey pulling.

  • @TheKiwimadman Actually, I've never grabbed onto their jersey. I hit them with my shoulder in their thighs, wrap my arms around, gripping forearms and haul them down. That's what I mean by grabbing, sorry I didn't elaborate more on what I meant by that.

  • @JanineRobin

i play both, and believe me, contact isnt the same. in rugby to tackle someone you try to wrap around their legs, in football.. you just run into them full speed.

  • @captainobvious49 if you throw a punch at something thats still the amount of force is the punch, the collision looks great(NFL), in rugby league we run full tilt at each other its doubling the force and the run up starts from 15yards often, its like 2 punches snapping together at the right time.....that is rugby LEAGUE. . in a game of NRL that collision happens at least 100timesand yes full tilt! this type of impact happens maybe 3 times top in NFL and no pads

  • @JanineRobin If rugby players were 6'5", 340 pounds, bench 400 and still run the 40 in 4.4.

well, there would be a lot of dead rugby players.

  • @deviantbreed . you sound like you are intimidated by size and strength. dont be scared cobber....grow some nuts and harden up! Rugby players dont care for how big you are, the big guys are usually the ones that get fucked up, bleeding scarred and pleading to get off the field! HONESTLY.

  • @irimanan27 yeah, i played rugby (and it's american version called "smeer the queer") aussie rules football, and american football. and with the exception of some of the player from the rugby world cup, nfl players are born and bred athletes, with no day job... they train, get bigger, faster, and meaner than the typical weekender rugby player. don't matter how tough ya think you are, with a concussion and separated shoulders, you are not doing anything, and that happens with their pads on.

  • @deviantbreed professional NFL are trained to be bigger faster stronger, as are rugby players but they must sacrifice size for endurance. for that reason your 400bench pressing guy will be useless in rugby. but if you were any good at rugby you would know it doesnt matter how big or strong a guy is without his ankles. Makes me wonder why you would be scared of a big guy if you played rugby. p.s its about skill timing and heart. just cos hes big doesnt mean he cant be knocked out by a squint

  • @irimanan27 Just punch him in the nuts. Easy money!

  • @irimanan27 yeah i play for doncaster knights they're is this guy in my team called oscar tiny but took down a number 8 bigger than a door frame (keep in mind this is under 14's)

  • @irimanan27 exactly i play rugby for 3 years now and im only like 135lbs and the guys i go against look like there 30 and weigh at least 200

  • @irimanan27: Great point. Shane Williams and Will Genia case in points

  • lol

  • na scotland

  • This is Like the Springboks playing against every other team.

  • except ireland of course...

  • why did he kick the ball of the ground to start the game?

your suppost to drop kick the ball.

  • its an old game you numpty thats what happened

  • love the sound of the kids getting knocked down xD

  • Brilliant!

  • NO MERCEY

  • if u r scottish u would b playing crap rugby

  • Are you all Americans? Americans who play rugby and football, and by football do you mean American football? I think its awesome that Americans are playing rugby now, I'm a kiwi where its our main sport. Do you guys think that in your country rugby will ever get big or mainstream?

  • I think so. I started out playing football and now I play rugby, and I have to say that rugby is a lot more fun. Do you like Union or League play better?

  • Union, but mainly from upbringing, have always played and watched it. Do people play league in the U.S.?

  • league is crap. here in BDA we play union and i jsut love it.

  • I hope so! It's starting to finally pick up here in the U.S. For some reason sissy pads and helmets seem to be more popular than brute strength. I hope some day it will become bigger then football, I guess Americans are just to sissy these days... haha

  • he will if niether of them r wearing pads.

  • @1977jess, a 300 pound american football player wouldn't even last in a rugby match, too fat & unfit to be able to run about for 40mins x2 non stop. They need to work on their cardio, all those big guys in your sport carry way too much fat that hangs over their belts.
