  • Holla! Have you tried intellectus 424 diet (do a google search)? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my mate lost tons of weight with it.

  • A nice balance that works well for many people is 51% RAW and 49% other type foods and protein...

  • soy milk not good, avoid all "non-fermented soy" if you have to have soy. i avoid soy cuz it's estrogenic, eat sea vegetables, seeds, nuts (in moderation, not a lot), leafy greens, sprouts....look up zuchinni pasta recipe (use shredded zuchinni to replace pasta) its fun..

  • i had IBS-C (severe constipation), have tried raw food veganism to great success, then failure as IBS-C turned to IBS-D (severe diarrhea); becomes very hard to eat raw foods when IBS-D. after recent experiences i strongly suspect that i have bipolar disorder. has anyone had Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Bipolar Disorder, have used an antidepressant?

  • Grains and potatoes are not good for you on a raw foods diet... Eliminate dairy, grains, and meat.. eat raw fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds...

  • I support medication when nothing else will help but I do not believe in medications every day.

    Organic food helped keep me sane... keeping my apartment dark worked the best. I eat organic, i have been vegan and lacto-vegetarian and I don't do dairy or GMO's and I have recently eaten beef that was organic and all and I am going back vegan soon out of feeling weird...

  • I felt the same way from my teens all the way until 5 years ago when I changed my diet. I ate the same growing up.. A lot of meat, dairy, refined sugars. My mom wanted me to go on anti-depressants, but I saw how hard it was for her to go off them. I am going to say the refined sugar is a big factor in moods. There is even a book called, "Sugar Blues." I noticed a huge change in my emotional stability after I stopped eating junk sweets. Fruit is what helped with the addiction.

  • Before I was medicated I could keep weight on the raw but now I've lost 14 pounds and have been at my wits end having to eat white carbs to try to gain weight.

  • this is so inspiring...I just wonder if there's hope for people whose digestive system's have been damaged bythe psychotropics....I am stable too on the live food diet but can't keep weight anymore

  • eat more nuts, if you can eat 200grams of nut a day you will have an extra 1200-1000 calories and about 40g of extra protein

    but dont eat your fatty foods together with fruits ore you will have blod sugar spikes

    try to let at 2 hours in between a fat meal and a fruit meal.

    i think certain foods should be cooked like

    potatoes grains ect

    and food combining is good too

  • I went on the raw foods diet with Arnold's help and eventually went off my medication because I felt so good. But it didn't stay that way. I eventually ended up in Norristown State Hospital whacked out of my mind and had to go back on my meds. The raw foods diet is helpful, but DON'T go off your meds. If you cheat on the diet you will end up like I did.

  • From what I just read what I really think you are saying is that a raw food diet DID work for you but since you did not keep up the diet (cheat was the word you used) that was when you ran into trouble? Makes sense to me...

  • I am glad you feel stable but there is no such thing as Bipolar 3. There is Bipolar I, Bipolar II, and Bipolar NOS (not otherwise specified).

  • Tallartist, Bipolar I and II are not stages. They are types. Stages are levels of mania: Stage I (hypomania).

    Stage II (acute mania).

    Stage III (delirious mania).

  • Greetings Arnold! Really fascinating stuff. I have only started raw foods and have noticed an instant positive effect on both my physical and mental health. Its like being turbo charged! By the way search RAW FAIRIES on here Its about the first and only raw food delivery company in London.

  • i dont know if i have bipolar but i am very up and down right now. certainly i have been a raw foodist! i found it a massive help, i felt peace and great health on th ediet the first time i went raw second time i felt more ill physically.i am taking a bioidentical HRT and thats been a massive help to me.right now however i feel like my ill health both mentally emotionally and pysically have come back! im not raw now. maybe i might be soon? cos i hate being unwell aching and feeling fatiques 24-7

  • Though a vegan mostly raw diet has certainly contributed to my more stable moods, I only felt a huge difference with my diet when I was also on medication for Type 1 bipolar disorder. I had a two year gap of stability with no symptoms at all while just vegetarian and off meds, but it came back with a vengeance in the form of a manic episode.

    I advocate a raw/vegan lifestyle, but including medication is how I got the best results.

  • Dont quit, keep learning and keep trying. Keep visiting Arnolds. Just being there is Uplifiting and Inspiring and his Books are Excellent. Bring into your Body as Much Raw food as you can, and do the best you can, with the Goal to be 100% raw, and everything will work out.
