Yes, No seat belts were required back then and yet we managed to survive. Kinda like riding a bicycle with no helmets. LOL...I gotta wonder why Dad & Mom let the kids have the bucket of chicken to eat in the rear car window and all to themselves. ROFL
I know it's corny but my parents would buy a 15 piece dinner for six kids and take us to the park for a picnic. This was way back in the mid 1980's when KFC was good and did it right. And no, we weren't fat . . . because we stayed active and played outdoors.
I don't think that is corny or silly at all. We stop by KFC and do that with our 4 kids in the summer. I just have them to give us plates and silverware and we take our dinner to a local park. After the kids finish eating, they go run and play. I like the idea of bringing back the "Old Days" for my kids. Best choice, then letting them sit around the house watching TV ad playing video games.
I love that the lazy parents start off by deciding what greasy poison they are going to feed their kids. Having chosen KFC, they let the little monsters start eating the rat, er chicken parts without napkins. Watch that new upholstery Janie! Then they leave the bucket on the back windshield so that it's handy and they can show the driver behind them what crap they're eating. Gotta love the /70s!
why did people drive their kids around in the dark all the time in the 70s? i have so many memories of driving around with my parents at night. not bad ones though.
Wow...those buckets never stayed that steady when I tried to eat KFC in the backseat...of course I live in Pittsburgh where there are potholes-a-plenty.
As with the 9 second mark, it's so funny how Pizza Hut and KFC would later be a part of the same company, Yum! Brands...they also own Taco Bell, A&W Hamburgers and Long John Silver's

@redbyrd64 You didn't have to wear seatbelts back in 78, just like baby carseat standards weren't a high.
