You only need to have just over 2 children per couple to refresh the next generation.
You only need 10 kids if most of them are dying as children (as used to happen 300 years ago, and still does in some developing countries).
Given the rapidly increasing population, I don't think we need to worry about the human race coming to an end - except through overuse of resources.
As for your argument that it is 'natural'/good to be poor - ditch your computer and go and lilve in a gutter then.

He cannot accept scietific evidence that some people are born gay.
He will not criticise clergy who abuse children.
He will not allow women to play a role in the church, and wants to keep them stuck at home having children.

Oh great - a catholic state with loony catholic laws:
i) No divorce (women trapped in abusive relationships)
ii) No abortion (rape victimes forced to have their abusers babies)
iii) No contraception (multiple babies of young mothers forced to live in abject poverty)

Finally, I would say that after a half decent pope (John Paul II), Ratzinger has set back the catholic church about 50 years.
If I was a catholic, I would be embarrassed and horrified at most of his supposedly 'divine insights'.
As a non-catholic I find him both laughable and scary, in about equal measure.
