@tthomaselli2 I don't think it was actually Michael, but an imposter. Or in other words a person working for the enemy to infultrate the FOUNDAITON to get the key.
Nope...it was a plot -- they were trying to arrest a guy named LaSalle....so they orchestrated the whole thing -- Michael shooting Devon (with blanks), stealing the key, and KITT, etc. It's all explained later in the episode. XD
Come on! Knight Rider, Mac Guyver, A-Team and Airwolf is what made television awesome! Those shows (back then) were the picture of originality. And this also includes Dukes of Hazzard and Smokey and the Bandit.
I'm sure Bullit is in there too somewhere. But that was before my time.
well A team, green berets that cant shoot straight, was Stringfellow really impossible to track by the cia? and kitt...the supercomputer AI used to run an car??
as i kid these shows were great, harmless entertainment, as an adult its a bit camp. but an endless source of quotes
Still, it beats all that cheap reallity tv crap any day of the week.
I do take back what i said about macguyver, that man is definitly THE man.
Hell yeah. I gave up watching TV somewhere around the 5th "Lets get complicated in a Hospital" series. No one has the guts to stand out and do their own thing on TV any more.
If I tried to make a sale for a show as original as those, I'd be laughed out of work.

How can anyone watch David Hasselhoff without thinking how f**kin shit he is at acting? It's actually unbelievably bad, and for such an expensive network prime-time drama series as well.
Well, the cheesiness is actually part of its appeal and charm that was typical of 1980's Universal TV series.
There were moments where you could take it seriously but, for the most part, it was all just campy fun. Who cared about the lousy acting and the implausible stunts?
Many times, today's primetime (almost everyone does it) tend to be too serious and they go as far as shoving ideology down your throat, especially bad if you don't agree with it, when all you want to be is entertained.
I've heard that one b4. Some have accused Hoff of being the greatest "co-star" of all time. A cool ass car on one show, and some hot chicks in binkis on the other.
Yeah, I remember this episode. In the end they revealed it was all a setup to make the criminals on the monitor believe Devon was killed but Michael didn't really shoot him.
Whats the episode

Cool. Makes me want to get the entire Knight Rider series on DVD.
It would go great with another Universal TV classic that I do have in its entirety on DVD: The A-Team!
