jab. when i saw the "thing" i fainted and asked the same as u...all that goe's in my leg OMG.....200 jabs later no worries, but sometimes i still get that OMG feeling, but ya jab & ya get over it. u will be fine.
The air bubble is put back in to clear the needle. It does not matter if you get air in a muscle at all. Even small air bubbles in the vein won't hurt you either. Remember mostly that the air bubble is to make sure you are clearing all med out of the needle, Especially since your first doses are so small it is important that the all med is injected, the air bubble is to insure this.
Oooooo...I hate needles, everytime I get blood drawn, I O.O at it siphoning out of me and eh, odd. Well People who have to get poked everyday have lots of courage, would have drove me nuts. Hope it's making you feel better!
Your nurse did a great job with you. The comment about possible fluid retention is interesting, since they never discussed that with me and I think that's what is my problem right now.
I started on the full dose right away, the first shot the side effects were horrible. I will be doing my 6th shot on Tuesday and hardly any side effect anymore. Drink plenty of water it seems to help. Mortin at least a hour before. You will be fine, you did a great job with filming this!!
It's been over 24 hours now and I never experienced any of the "flu-like symptoms", but I should probably keep in mind that I only took 1/4 of a dose. Next week I'll move up to 1/2 of a dose. I felt fine, but after a several hours I noticed I felt anxious and irritable, but I don't know if that was related to the Avonex or not.
I know this sounds stupid, but if you think of something you really love and allow yourself a treat each week after you've successfully done your injection that might help. For me that would be chocolate ice cream...
I've watched your videos for a while now, and I'll be thinking about you. Take care!
I sure hope these shots work well for you. I'm feeling for you. I'm supposing you'll get accustomed to the activity as time goes on. Hoping for the best outcome from this.
I do 2 injections each day- it gets easier! Trust me!!!! Stay strong! <3 Ps- I have severe Lupus so I can relate....
