@pp0u1110 Paul Mckinney is a character, thats for sure. I've actually played him at casinos and some home games. He has a world series of poker bracelet, and has played almost his whole life.
Wow, players were so bad, average is around 110k and blinds 2k/4k and the button raises to 30k!!! So bad!!! 7.5x on the button. Even Phil raises to 3x which is wrong when the average stack is only 25bb. If an average today's losing player went in the past he would crush them!
i love how phil hasnt changed anything from his repertoire "we were just now talkin with my friend about how i can get kings or aces and get him all in drawing dead"
You know, it's funny. I just watched a few episodes of High Stakes Poker recently & the table included Fred Chamanara, Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, etc.
Anybody else find it funny that this is only 7 years after the '89 WSOP, where Hellmuth looks like an extra from Freaks and Geeks, and Phil now looks basically like he does today?
Everything from the compering, to the graphical transitions, commentary to the bad clothing and hairstyle of the 90s is such a far cry from what you see today! Its amazing.
man phil thinks hes so good because he has 2 braclets. i think hes lucky and not good. he won both braclets vs 9 person tables and only like 100 people in each. i won plenty of freerolls with like 1500 and i got a 36th finish in a freeroll. so if i can get through that feild i think i can get through 100. id have 100 braclets if i was in his shoes
LOL. Then what are you doing here watching youtube videos instead of playing big poker games and winning big money?? A 36th finish in a 1500 guys freeroll? Come on, I've placed 2nd more than twice in 2000 player fields and I KNOW I'm very far from being something other than a humble amateur. Online, freeroll, come on, this is a totally different story. Those guys pay big buy-ins so they better be decent players, not online rookies like US.
And believe me i'm not a fan of Hellmuth, he's a great texas hold em tournament player though, probably one of the best of all time with TJ Cloutier and Stu Ungar without a doubt.
Bracelets aren't everything though, one of the greatest player to ever live had only 3 bracelets (i'm talking about Chip Reese)
Some of these guys just don't want to play wsop events as much as Hellmuth.
But did you just compare an internet field full of donks to the world series of poker?
there are three types of poker: draw, stud, and community. A variation of stud would be stud hi/lo or razz. Texas holdem is a community game like omaha, so no its not really a variation of stud
yes, but espn cancelled the tv contract for the event after either 2006 or 07 im not sure which one, but the event still goes on, although w/o the tv draw the number of entrants have gone down
