Latex is a strange material. I guess the talc mixture sometimes doesn't get completely washed off, which is why some balloons are kinda dusty inside. The way they're dipped in the liquid latex is why balloons have that thicker nipple thing on the top LMAO.

Actually, latex does have tiny microscopic holes in it, the more you stretch it the bigger the holes get. Which is why if you fill up a balloon with helium it'll gradually deflate because the holes are big enough for helium to squeeze through (albeit very slowly)
