  • great

    some thing else to do...

  • I did this trip from London to Venice and it was just fabulous. I fell in love absolutely and finally with Europe and live in Paris now.

  • damn they're old!

  • They need to drop the "Oriental" part. Damn racist Brits.

  • The last four comments! You should be ashamed. This clearly happy lovely couple enjoying their final years together are more deserving of life than you low lifes will ever be. Hope you never reach old age.

  • @ 0:59 , 'were so lucky'?? your lucky to still be living!!!

  • Anyway, 50 things to do before you die??? these people WILL have died before they finish it!!

  • @SuperJbizkit Wow. that is a bit bold.

    It would be funny though.

Or if they ran into the railway track and got run over by the train XD Old people right?

  • It would be funny if they had a heart atack and died before they got on the train

  • Traveling on the Orient Express is on my bucket list.

  • Orient express does not have showers, only basins.

  • it would be the ultimate dream come true to travel on the Orient Express. Only I'd want to do the original route from Istanbul to Paris.

  • Full HD Please.

  • I want this.

  • The train is without doubt lovely! But, as I've asked before, can one shower at the end of the day and before beddy-bye? Now that would be a train!

  • @ccaammiiittoo1 I took my dad on the Orient Express from Paris to Venice for his 75th birthday in 2006. The compartments have their own wash basin. Toilets and bathrooms with shower are located at the end of each carriage. You are provided a VSOE robe and slippers and encouraged to use them to make the journey to the bathrooms and back.... BTW, men are required to wear a suit during the day and black tie (dinner suit) at dinner. It is a memorable journey.

  • @kenjryker Thank you. Travel anywhere for more than one day without a shower, I'm like, No way! I suspect that it is a memorable journey, railroad buff that I am. Do you plan to take the Asian Orient Express, starting, I think, in Laos and equipped with shower? Let me know if you do, okay? And again, thank you for sharing!

  • @lethyxmusic: you take the British Pullman cars (owned and operated by Orient Express) from London, usually for lunch time, then you cross the channel via ferry and board the Venice-Simplon Orient Express on the French side in time for dinner.

  • We were lucky enough to make this same trip in reverse, from London to Venice, as part of our honeymoon. It was truly an amazing experience! Elegant surroundings, incomparable scenery through the Alps, impeccable service, wonderful cocktail hour, and four-star dining. Being lulled to sleep by the gentle rocking of the train was possibly the most romantic bit of the trip--and those little Pullman beds are shockingly comfortable!

The VSOE is definitely a must-do if you're at all interested i

  • looks insane. looks like a dream and I absolutely want to make it before dying. im 20 years old :)

  • I would love to go from London to Venice on that train and take my son and his family!

  • Wtf? How can the train go to London from Venice, what, it travels on invisible tracks over water?

  • @lethyxmusic Have you ever heard of a "bridge"? It's really a great invention.

  • @JessRuby yeah.. could've they actually built an incredibly long bridge to the continent from the UK?

  • That's a nice train :D

  • I am 16 and I went on the steam train orient express from london to bath

and it was the best day ever I would love to continue living like this :D

  • Lovely! I dream, I dream... :o)

  • I am saving up for my 30th bday for this! Just need to find a good company!

  • I am saving up for my 30th bday for this!

  • The subject matter of this is interesting, but it looks like it was put together by a mediocre first year film student. Is this the kind of crap the BBC are putting out these days?

  • beautiful scenery!

  • Quality and service are hardly dull in today's world of ryanairism.

  • @rustohiski sorry to ask, but what's "ryanairism"?

  • i fully want to do that!

  • sad snobs....

  • go gaby!!!!!!!!!!

  • In my opinion, this is quite a boring thing to do before you die.

  • word "quite" is too weak to express the dullness of this "experience"

  • One day I'm going to ride that train!

  • I thought it only traveled from Paris France to Istanbul Turkey.

  • if your wondering about dafywinf yeah the orient express went from istanbul to paris and was never on the continent with machu pichu. i was stunned too to read that.

  • travels all over the place... different lines

  • @GearRocks The Route from Paris To Istanbul is the most Famous one but unfortunately it only opens once a year.

  • @MysteryFanGirl Barbarian orthodox balkan and islamist turkey?

  • that ought to be the way passenger trains should be,style and elegence. I dont think the Orient Express is just for old people at all im 21 and i'd love to go!

  • @Ourumov66 Me too! Im 22 & riding the Oriental Express is on my Personal List of things to do beffore I die.

  • @Ourumov66 Wonderful documentary. I agree with you, it's for all people who have a sense of taste, and what a beautiful interior these trains have. They should be preserved, not replaced by the modern ones you find in Japan or Korea where all is made from plastic.

  • @Ourumov66 Same here! I'm 27, i've always loved trains and train travel. I've taken the train quite a bit, although it was only Amtrak coach class :-(

  • @Ourumov66 im 14 and i would

  • That was so sweet! I wish they could've taken their little doggie with them, though. I'd take it to the dinning hall with a frilly white bow on it's head!

  • Yep. And it's hair shall turn pink.

  • What a beautiful video - they do say that if you pass through the entrance to Machu Picchu you will never be the same again and you seem to have proved that ! - your video brought back so many memories for me too - thank you.

    Sam
