What kind of water do u use pal? how can u stop algae growing from the live rocks? guest what now I am using my old biowheel 200 filter in my 36 gallon reef tank bowfront version and my xenia is really happy and growing plus waving in the water? So is your condi anemone still alive? I have a condi anemones for 12 bocks how much u got yours dude?
i got rid of the condy, it was stinging the surrounding corals. you need to make sure that you dont have any phosphates. i use a little pad that absorbs them then you take it out after a few days and throw it away. my water is country water so it is pretty clean already so i dont filter at all just let it stand for a day or so. you might need an ro/di unit if you have bad water (city water)
check out my 20 gallon nano fish tank? biowheel 200 and korila power head 400 gph is fine for corals and bubble tip anemones in a 20 gallon nano? are you keeping a bubble tip anemones in their too? can you show me your filter with the live rocks in it please thanks?
Can I use live rocks as my filter for my reef fish tank? can I put live rocks on my biowheel filter plus filter reef balls to clean up my reef fish tank is that fine in a 20 gallon nano fish tank? does the live rocks makes a good filter for my reef fish tank? check out my video?
Live rock in the aquarium helps with bio-filtration but you need a good bio wheel filter like the emperor or penguin ones. If you have a lot of live rock and a good bio wheel filter you wont really need the filter balls.
I have an emperor 400 bio-wheel filter and a bak pak 2. Then I dose Kalwasser, strontium, molybdenum, essential elements, coral accel, iodine, microvert, phytoplex. I have too many corals to list but some of them are 3 varieties of birdsnest corals, various acroporas, mushrooms, zoas, palies, other softies, different SPS's i dont however have any LPS and dont plan to keep any. I have a yellow tang, six-line wrasse (coolest fish ever!) yellow-tail damsel, and of course the clownfish.
aww sorry to hear that, how big is that clownfish in the video, I'm guessing its about 6inches(15cm) Oh btw just want to know, you know the anemone does it really sting? because when I watched finding nemo, Marine said he was use to the sting when he got stung by the jellyfish because of where he live.
the clown is about 2in long. some anemones sting and some dont. these are star polyps not anemones. they dont sting people but they will kill any surrounding corals.
Yea I know those aren't Anemones even though they look the same in some ways, I read the video description. wow thats not good news then, oh 1 more thing are these Corals expensive?
i assume your talking about the star polyps. they arent too expensive. I got this colony from drs.foster and smith for $30 i think and it was a patch on a rock about 5x7in. some people including me sell corals on craigslist. then you can get them for way cheaper.
wow thats a good way to earn back some money, since they grow frags or something I heard, Im not too sure about saltwater, marine fish. Had you ever had an Tropical Fish tank before, if so do you know how much Bogwood cost?
Oh hey, very nice. I thought my clown was dead the first time I saw it laying flat in the polyps. Such funny fish.
