as you say Gaus humans are not necessarily smarter now.and i think its just that they communicate better and build on top of older information that is passed through the generations because it is preserved in books,It is a fact that humans had larger brains ten thousand years ago and I believe the ancient people may have been very creative and inventive at the art of survival.

People may have buried there dead at these sites years after these sites had finished being used thinking that their was so spiritual significance to the sites,but as you say these structures would not be leveled and keyed together to give them structural strength if they were just monuments.they locked them together provide structural support and rigidity. those stones would not move in a cyclone even If they were not locked together.so it is obvious they built them like this for a good reason

@youbriggs You point the holes & I promise to fill them up for you this is not a theory ,I am an inventor & I always make do with what is available while most walks away from the challenge that being said if I was around back then and all I had was some stones & timber I would do the same...Ps. we humans did not become smarter in the past 10000 years we just learned to record the older achievements & built on them... Von Brown did things that most said cant be done so did guy in the old UK

@Gaus212 I like your ideas Gaus and I wouldn't be surprised if stone henge and wood henge were some type of industrial site I was thinking that wood henge may have been a tannery or something like that.

yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is very quite possible ,,,,,,a place to hold water .....and i do believe it is quite so....yes it was!!!!!,,,,,,,,,NOW,,, if you read the old coventant "god" made with his people israel ...HE "FORDID" them to make such places of holding water.......in His eyes it was a declaration of unbelie-f-----or acceecting the truth.............
