  • Granville t.Woods(black man) invented the multiplex telegraph,it detected oncomin trains (still used to today)because head on train collisions deaths were very common in late 1800s.

Thomas Edison tried to sue him claiming he

stole the patent, but later lost the case to woods then a black millionare in 1800s.

Edison later tried to hire woods.Woods said,

"Hell no,just so you could steal my inventions".

  • spread the truth.

  • This brother inspires me.

  • kind words.

  • he amazing1i know him

  • thank you "ASHLEY" --wink! wink!

  • "ashley"... get SKYPE.

  • Excellent video.

  • thanks. are you a teacher? if so pass it along to teachers you know.

  • I am glad that I took the time to view this video. I work in the field of education. Listening to you speak about this topic actually raised my spirits. I often find myself distressed over the attitudes regarding this topic.

When I was a child, my grandparents reminded me daily that someone black had made sacrifices for me to be educated.

I appreciate your remarks. I wish they could be broadcasted nationally. There are folks who need to hear your message.

  • i wish so too. but tat takes time and a lot of groundwork to raise a groundswell. in the mean time, send this and any of my videos --'cause they all have to do with educstion one way or the other-- to others who share your same notions.

  • I am going to post it on my blogsite this week. Along with some opinions that I have about black attitudes around education.

  • Thank you for your message of truth... I didn't know that about Africa in the 1980's.

  • read "kaffir boy" by mark mathabane. read "black boy" by richard wright. i'm still searching for their equivalent in this time in america. i couldn't find that biography so i wrote one. watch the playlist "17 to life" on my page.

  • I have heard about "Black Boy". I've read "Native Son" but that's about it... I'll be sure to Look for the books that you've suggested.

  • read. read. [black] history gets forgotten very easily. it has before and it will again, especially in this fast-paced world where machines we employ in our daily lives are obsolete after 6 months. how far removed will the lives of richard wright, james baldwin or mark mathabane be to successive generations schooled on rapid turnover and change? i talk about that in my "BRAVEHEARTS" video. check it out.

  • Thank you.

  • ...for speaking to the kids? for telling my life as i've lived it? i got a long road to go.

  • Point is you started. You have the elusive compassion factor. I'm truly blessed to have seen it in another being not as merely as some untapped potential but as progressive actuality. You are acting out from what you see is right and what IS right

    Best,

    AP.

  • there's nothing more true than living the dream. no talking, no videos, no emails. all this energy has to come off the web and live in the world... you got the knowledge, the background, the passion... i'm waiting for others to morph off YT and act on life... let me know when you're ready.

  • I haven't even started yet. I suppose I do every now and then by extending myself to others through thoughtful gestures. Be the change you want to see I think just like Mahatma Gandhi eloquently put it. Though much doubt pulls me back. It's like Obama said in his speech recently - "if your hopes have been dashed again, then its best to stop hoping... settle for what you know." Do the bare minimum and that's what I quarrel with... this passivity, this complacency. Don't get me wrong...

  • I'm working on my own problems in terms of arriving who I am and being accepting of it a bit late in my years. However, I'm confident that my efforts will coalesce seeing inspiring visionaries and focusing on my development.

  • keep working. the search for self yields just about everything you need. wisdom is waiting there for you. keep going in earnest. only good can happen next.

  • Your work gets better and more intense as I get to know you better.

  • thanks.. this is my season. truth must be trumpeted.

  • was this the speech you were working on?

  • yes, while we were talking saturday morning. the speech goes on for 15-20 minutes. this is just a snippet. what do you think? do the kids in holland need to hear something like this?

  • My hat goes off to you man, keep pushing. Ill do my best to watch all of your works this week. My project is still coming out soon.

  • when?
