I have a question about silver coins. Where I live it is virtually impossible to buy .999 silver coins. Even if you can, the government wants your SIN # and other personal info so they can track it. On the other hand, it is easy to buy .925 silver coins. Is it detrimental to future resale value to buy .925 coins or should I buy as many of them as I can? Please give me some educated feedback. Look no dude u have it wrong, it's any quarters or dime before 1964 for USA and before 1967 for Canada. The one with cooper ring the brown rim those coins are not silver at all. A silver coin will not have that. Even if u find a pre 1964 coin it's not pure, it's mostly 80% silver and 20% alloys of nickel. You can also tell if it's silver by the sound it makes

Also the Kennedy Half Dollars (1964's are 90% Silver) minted for circulation from 1965-1969 are 40% Silver. The 1970 is also 40% Silver but it only was issued in a Mint Set for collectors. So the last silver coins that were struck for circulation was in 1969 and it was a 40% Silver Kennedy Half Dollar.

Any coin other than a nickel that was minted PRIOR to 1965 contains 90% silver. 10% copper was added to make the coins harder so they'd stay in circulation longer obtaining less wear. Now there were 4 years of the nickels (1942. 43, 44, and 45 that were struck in 35% Silver). Although the Denver Mint did not strike any of the 35% Silver War Nickels in 1942. So there's a total of (11) 35% Silver War Nickels that make up an entire set.....Continued...
