40 would say more... 30 even more... 20 even more... in fact do not drive at all. Fact is that over 90% of accidents involving pedestrians have no braking. whatsoever.
While I am not against 50 zones, it is the way this general message has been applied to some of the most deserted roads and freeways in the World that gets me.
Why can a Czech driver do 160km/h right across Europe and here we are confined to 100 km/h. Its a joke.
Just in case any other brainiacs watch this.....The United States is the only place stil using Imperial measurements. The rest of the world measures in the Metric System.
29.5 mph to be precise. I don't want to be nasty, but there's something in front of a driver called the "steering wheel". When I see a kid on a street I slam the brake and try to avoid collision, not slam the kid and avoid braking like in the vid. One should adjust the speed to the conditions on the road, simple as that.
yep it is simple but i drive 5mph over the speed limit and i stop were i should of stopped i dont know how they caculate things but i follow all rules of the road most of the time but not really also people cut me off all the time on the road and i almost go into a rear end collision because this guy stop for no reason and ask me whats my problem when he is blocking the road for me to get through
well sorry i am not that smart i dont pay attention about the correct word for the measurements and i know that the world doesnt revolve around america
@motorolarival3 I know this comment has been removed but I'll reply anyway. I spend a large amount of my time sticking up for America. Every country has it's bad Apples. The general view in the UK is that you're all stupid, and I tell everybody that that is NOT fair. Surprise you that I'm like that? :)
@wuzzlevideos Ok I am sorry I just feel as though most other people from every other country are CONSTANTLY putting America down and thought you were one, but I realize now that you aren't and I appolize for that
@wuzzlevideos It surprises me. But makes me really happy. I'm not a big fan of my country, but I can't stand the constant barrage of crap the US gets. I don't care about trolls because I know they aren't serious about anything so I don't take them seriously, but I can tell when one trolls and one doesn't. Thank you for defending my country, the UK and US are allies and I think we should treat each other as such.
In Sweden the speed limit is 30Kph within city limits. Since September 15 the speedlimits has changed nationwide so now we also have 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110 and 120Kph outside city limits.
yeah I remember this ad - 1999 these regulations came in - and I'm sure many an aspiring driver has failed his driving test because of them. (Though there's probably at least one person still alive as well).
I've no issue with slowing cars down, I do have issue with the government only doing half a job and not educating parents to teach their children from a very young age, just how dangerous a road is.
With my own children, I used a hammer and an orange (the orange representing my sons obviously) to explain what would happen to them should they go on the road.
Yeah, you're completely correct. The thing is, it is important to emphasise that drivers shouldn't speed willy nilly because it's always a pedestrians fault. Because it's not. A driver should always be in control and expect the unexpected. But kids really shouldn't be playing chicken with trucks :-)
I think people put too much emphasis on teaching kids - that alone isn't going to do it. Kids around that age don't always remember (or obey) what they've been taught.
Honestly, I think it's just as important for parents to closely supervise little kids playing outside. You wouldn't believe the number of neighbor's I've seen whose method of keeping tabs on their kids was to sit indoors, and occassionally look out the window. :(
Right, and in that instance, you wouldn't be at fault. But if you were doing 20 over the limit and a kid bolts out and there would have been room to stop if you were AT the limit, then it'd be your fault.
Similar-ish to the South African ones you have up with the ghost drinking while the real person doesn't drink. And probably similar to countless other ones as well, but that was the one I thought of.
Hmm, I know this kid. Lachlan Pike.

If you nealry hit a kid would you abuse the parents and the child or would you check and see if they are OK?

@silverthearab Obviously unless I'm drunk (which I never been) I wouldn't consider beating up random families.

whats 50k in MPH
ChrisBennett18 3 years ago
31mph. ish.
wuzzlevideos 3 years ago
ok thanks for me its easier to do it in MPH its way easier for me and why did that kid ran into the road did his mother teach him not to
ChrisBennett18 3 years ago
Sadly not. But the point is that you should be travelling at an appropriate speed just in case something like that happens. Then you can react to it.
wuzzlevideos 3 years ago
ok but i drive like five miles over then when i see a corner i drop my speed like 5 mph or more just incase there is a light up ahead or somthing
ChrisBennett18 3 years ago
Follow the rules of the road because you might get into trouble if you don't. If you can't follow the rules, don't drive. Simple.

Also, they are called "imperial measurements", not "American measurements".

The question is Why can't Americans use kilometers? I'm American and knowing measurements that only pertain to the US is starting to get annoying.

we have recently had electronic slow down signs put up where i live..they r everywhere.
it cost the taxpayer 4 grand per sign for the council to put them up..and no one takes any notice of them..what a waste of money.
i agree with shosta's comment.
