In all likelihood an Igla-S (SA-24 Grinch) would not contend with a lot of challenges once annihilating an F-16. The SA-24 Grinch's modernized technical capabilities would out-match the F-16. This SA-24 Grinch was specifically built to counter NATO built military hardware. This MANPAD would obliterate any NATO built aircraft and reduce it to bits. You don't like that too bad.

This was common among his fellow pilots He was, however, smart enough to be admitted to the US Air Force Academy. I'm guessing you weren't, as your comment is totally wrong.

@JackDawsonRMS Well, for example in Finland the pilots go through admission tests and only few of the applicants are accepted. And like with all schools in Finland, it doesn't matter what your background is, as everyone has to take the same tests and you get no points for being a son or a daughter of a professor, general or whatnot. So anyone can be a pilot (in Finland). You just have to have what it takes, mentally and physically.

F-16 low level flight is a good exercise for f-16 pilots if you can fly in formation with your wingman

you always have to check your speed and your altitude you can see it on your head up display.

@everythingman987 You know, in an exercise done between recently reunified Germany and the US, east Germany, having received support from the USSR was left with some Mig 29s, the americans decided to try those Mig 29s against there F 16s in an exercise of 10 mile radius dogfight, results: for 1 downed Mig 29: 10 downed F 16s, all though, in medium to long range, the Mig 29 would get powned.

@DeBlakPerl What do you mean by more efficient? Many people are under the impression that the MiG-29 and Su-27 are easy to maintain, but they are not. At one point in the early 2000s 70% of Russia's MiG-29s were grounded due to problems with internal corrosion. Today, 45% of their MiG-29s are un-airworthy. And the engines in the Flankers are very easily FODed out. Over 500 MiG-29s have either crashed or have been shot down. That's 1/3 of all MiG-29s built. I fail to see the efficiency.

These things are soooo loud! During a nearby airshow they had just one of these and with a small amount of after burners probably at only about 200-250 mph and u could feel the ground rumbling like 20 seconds after the flyby. I swear that i was like half deaf after.
