How do you make it so I dont hear what I'm recording while I'm recording? it has a delay and Id just like to turn it off

At first I had trouble getting used to all the recording and whatnot, then trouble finding out how to add the "empty" track for audio. Been using the "empty" track for recording for a day, and then I come back on to do some more recording and I can't find any empty tracks to add. Anyone help me with it??

if i was to record electric guitar and bass, would you need to buy an audio interface to plug your guitar into and connect to you pc?

im having problems with sequel 2. I have it installed on a hp 64 bit windows vista. I have went thru at least 10 different audio boxes or interfaces trying to find one that will work for me. it seems like no matter what brand I try I cant get it to work. I have had a guy at sam ash music store who is qualified to work on it pulling his hair out trying to get me going. what am I doing wrong and what can I do to make it work? I just wanna record vocals. HELP PLEASE!!!!
