I should have chosen a more generic desktop for the video, but at the time, I downloaded the "Elmo's Number Journey" ROM and took a screenshot off the emulator.
I also added it into the video as a jokey display. I'm sorry, if it distracted you from the main theme of the video.
@TheSanguineOne I did not understand your video correctly.Renew=Buy new mcafee...And MalwareBytes Antimalware is NOT antivirus. It is just virus scanner and remover
@thepredatorwinner Very true. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware provides an antivirus (real-time scans) if activated through payment. Anyway the reason for the video was my distaste in McAfee 2009's performance and my admiration of Mbam.
an antivirus company should make a feature in their antivirus will automatically deletes a virus if the trial expired and if we still have the program installed. that will be the only thing that it can do if the trial is expired.(we wont be able to start a full virus scan on our pc)
@adliikhwan280 That's a wonderful idea, but McAfee has implanted itself in several folders of the registry that help it to run unconditionally in the background in all modes of Safe Mode (i.e., Local Server, Networking, and Safe). In other words, uninstalling the program may interfere with the integrity of the registry, as what has happened to iTunes, a program which cannot be uninstalled.
I made this video eight months ago, and McAfee is still on my computer. It's probably staying, too. ;(
@A135S4656 That's definitely true. At the moment, my favorite anti-malware program to use is Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware because McAfee does not find everything, even though you have to pay for it.
Overall, McAfee is okay, but other anti-malware programs are better.
@TheSanguineOne Virus scan plus only found a fraction of all the viruses out there but McAfee full protection is pretty good but it makes your computer go slow. I usually use Webroot which I paid for and it's samazing, it finds like every threat ever, but on my laptop that I've been using just for some testing and that, it got infected so I just quickly installed MalwareBytes and it found a trojan and removed it... MalwareBytes is worth paying for, I'd pay for it.
@A135S4656 Along with Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, I also use Super Anti-Spyware, which is a fabulous antispyware program, but Malwarebytes' seems the best. Once, I was infected by a worm from a suspicious download, and I ran Malwarebytes' in Safe Mode, which removed it. It seems as though most antivirus, anti-malware, and antispyware programs work best in Safe Mode.
@TheSanguineOne Wow... kewl. Maybe because the fact that MalwareBytes is free and has a cool name gives more people of an opportunity to help fight threats with them and improve the database.
@TheSanguineOne I know, but I think it's pretty much worth it... it's 10 bucks cheaper than Webroot... and if it can detect so much threats it must be able to block and quarantine a lot. Internet Block I guess is fine...
@A135S4656 Most Internet users do not need the Internet block because installing the free MyWOT (My Web of Trust) plug-in can monitor sites and keeps one safe. Compared to the McAfee SiteAdivor, the MyWOT plug-in is much easier to use and more reliable because it relies on user reviews and McAfee SiteAdvisor only uses the review of someone at the McAfee headquarters.
@TheSanguineOne Ok... Well as long as MalwareBytes doesn't have to pay employees then everyone should be fine with the free version... Does MyWOT block any attacks or stuff like that?
@A135S4656 MyWOT does not block attacks; however, it blocks the webpage with a black screen, which indicates that the site is unsafe. It also has a link to bypass the black screen and another, which sends one back to the homepage. With McAfee SiteAdvisor, there is only a notification at the top or bottom of the screen, thus, exposing one to the website without the means of returning to the homepage.
Okay, what's with the Elmo backround?

Now, however, I love Webroot.

@TheSanguineOne maybe this will work but its too stupid and hard
First backup all ur files and registery in ur computer
then format the hard disk
then install all the backups back to ur computer but dont install McAfee
adliikhwan280 1 year ago
@adliikhwan280 I thought about that . . . But I share this computer with another person, so that wouldn't go over well. lol.
Anyway that suggestion would definitely work; however, I'd rather not use that option.
It's cool that you thought of that, by the way. (-:

@A135S4656 I think that you're right about that, but Malwarebytes' Pro is not free. The real-time scans and Internet blocks cost $20.
