  • @metaled16 Maybe if I saw this on the street I would say he was a nutcase. But I'd say: "Look at that nutcase. He's a freakin' musical genius!" There's a lot more going on than just humming on a stage.

  • I do this! but not infront of a crowd lol - Bobby's amazing!

  • It's all in the dreads.

  • Friend of mine asked "what's that instrument he's playing?" to which I replied "It's called a microphone"!

  • If you were in the streets and did this, you'd be classed as a nutcase

  • @metaled16 how just a simple thing of sitting on a stage can change our perspective from what is classified as a "nutcase" to a "artistic expressionist"

  • I do this on my sax... just sit there for an hour an improvise stuff

  • its quite amazing, but honestly i didn't enjoy that...

  • when i was a kid i used to sing to myself like this, and people thought i was being weird. now i think i was being special. :) could go on for a good half hour, to much annoyance of the surrounding folks. :) ::sigh:: should've gone into music.

  • @TheMreriks ah :S you still can do it friend! just dont give up, and ignore the haters, you can do it!

  • i want one.

  • genious

  • @TheLiberalSoup wer würde das wollen :D

  • he has perfect pitch, his brain is beautiful

  • Simply Amazing!

  • If this man was sitting on the street doing the same exact thing, people would avoid him. Now that he's on a stage with a microphone and a couple Aquafina bottles, he's appreciated as a scientist and artist. Oh how the human race is beautifully flawed.

  • @passwordpanda

Have you ever heard of Joshua Bell? He's a world class violinist, he brought his 3.5 million dollar violin and played music at a subway station in street clothes. Adults passed him by, a random few would slow down to listen., even fewer would throw money in, only one stopped to listen. But the study found that children, would notice how beautiful what he was playing was.

  • @pivotgurl i think i can distinguish a good/extraordinary street-musician i like from a "normal" street musicion.

you can often see crowds of people around the good ones though...

its all a matter of time and mood you are in.

  • @passwordpanda I don't think that is true. There are many people who would not avoid this guy if he busked. I have been approached by some real heavy hitters as a street musician.

  • @passwordpanda If I gave a speech on the street no one would listen. If I am on a stage and people are there expecting to listen to my speech, they would clearly listen. There is a time and place for everything. Doesn't make it flaw in that respect.

  • what weirdo clowns would want him to sing ya lullabies every night?

  • EXELENTE

  • His vocal range is amazing

  • Here's a little song I wrote...

  • It's like he travels from Africa to ... India to ... outerspace.

  • I would love do this...

  • anyone who dislikes this is severely misguided

  • Three people were so amazed that they blacked out and missed the right button.

  • I am in awe of the negative comments. They r just simply retarded.

  • Pure. Brilliance.

  • I wish I could do that.

  • @brain4breakfast MEE TOO!

  • Does anyone know the opening song of this video?

  • I guess the word range is an under statement

  • It is a good example of closure principle from Gestalt theory

  • Amazing music and vocal work!!! Thanks Mr. McFerrin.

  • i love how he air-guitars the mic

  • I am in awe of Mr. McFerrin's talent!

  • @bucktoofus <3 youtube comments

  • @bucktoofus lool!! o yea how do u noe wat 4 year old urine smells like??~!!!

  • @bucktoofus he just wishes.. and you obviously don't know the difference between a hobo's "deedly-doos" and Mr. McFerrin's improvizations which by the way based on very hard work. you don't have a clue what music is, do you..

  • @morrisal Who knows. life is cruel even to the wisest and most talented of us sometimes. that hobo may just have a hidden musical talent.

  • @MrpotatoChips you're right, but @bucktoofus's comment was rude. It was absolutely unnecessary.

  • @morrisal Agreed. that was uncalled for.

  • @morrisal Don't mistake 'hard work' for inspiration. This gentleman has genuine insight.

  • @bucktoofus Uhmmmm. Why do you know what 4 year old urine smells like? Is it some wierd fetish?

  • That is warming up your voice. =P

  • Crazy talent. What a pro.

  • see, here he gets an applause. i do the exact same thing and the whole hospital waiting room just looks at me like im weird.

  • @4hm35319hd0h5

ye because your in a hospital xD sick people don't know whats worth an applause and what not :P

  • Yeah same here, except people actually waited for me to step out of the bathroom stall to "mean mug" me....unsophisticated brutes, they have no appreciation for my instrument

  • reminds me of the music in the seen in Akira where tetsuo wakes up in the research facility and the kids are projecting themselves as toys.

  • wish the video wasn't out of sync...

  • this is so crazyyy

  • what kind of culture would u say that the first improvisational piece is most alike? I think its something like arabic... indian..? One of those middle eastern countries?

  • vocart said sick!! I think "Sick" is slang for good? Is that correct?

  • @thelipstickfemme That is indeed correct! :P

  • @thelipstickfemme It's slang for "WOW!" or, "amazing."

  • Can I have him sing lullabies to me every night ?

  • no, probably not.

  • @theacorpse sing them yourself. Im sure everyone can perform something like this after learning some theory and techniques. I wouldnt wonder if he just made everything up while he jammed along

  • @Pestilence86 Please post a video of yourself doing something HALF as difficult as this and i wont say you're an incredibly ignorant douche bag for your previous comment.

  • @JordanCaiolaMusic Oooooh. You got me wrong. He is very good at what he is doing. Maybe he was good to start (Would mean he got talent) or he trained himself to become as good as that. But i am saying that everyone has the potential to perform something like this (Emphasis on "like"). I dont think it would be near as good as what he does. Also with "he just made everything up" i mean that it could be that he was improvising or jamming. (Btw: English is not my native language)

  • @theacorpse only if you're ok with him making you, as his crowd, participate in his songs.

  • Way excellent and superior talent. What a Master and such a gift.

  • Really amazing to watch..

  • Thank you!

  • sick!!
