The Dutch parliament just approved a law which makes cars like this more than 10.000 euros more expensive because they are considered harmful for the environment.
I don't doubt that Balkenende will change his car to a Toyota Prius or something similar. He gets to be driven in this car for free, so he doesn't have to pay up like the normal car drivers have to.
