  • This piece has always been evocative of death and paradise to me, and the clarity of the notes and the style brings the first and last segments through beautifully. It is magnificent, my favorite of tristesse on youtube. I can listen to it over and over. Thank you.

  • un zeeeeeeste de ciiiiitron

  • 好聽到流淚了

  • it made me cry, i dont know but tears just.. well anyway this is really amazing..

  • My mother loved to play this piece. I think she played it in a competition as a teenager in Birmingham, AL. It's been almost 30 years since I last heard it on her piano which I am now having restored - and my piano instructor has agreed to play this etude at an unveiling party. I can't wait to hear this once again played on Mom's Steinway. But thanks for posting this now.

  • @davekingpt that is beautiful , how did it go?!

  • @gnatural Thank you for asking. The piano is now fully restored. It looks and sounds just like Mom would have loved to see and hear it. The unveiling was two weekends ago. The house was full with family, neighbors and freinds from various corners of my life. I was nervous when I played and it showed. My friends' 8 y.o. daughter wowed them playing "Meet the Flinstones". My instructor made the piano sing like it hasn't in 30 years. When she played this piece there were several pairs of teary eyes.

  • walao! Awesome!!!

  • Great performance! And beautifully played, well done!

  • I can't decide whether I should stop the piano and stick to guitar. But I think this song can make my decision for me. I've never heard an instrument better than the piano!

  • @MusicIsMyLife6991 why not play both?

  • @MrProportional - I just wonder what i'm better off with. I do have videos of me playing piano, but maybe i'll upload videos of me playing guitar as well :)

  • Good!

  • Sin Palabras!!!!

    Me encanto esta ♫

  • WONDERFUL!

  • By the way, when you are playing forte notes, plese don't "knock" on the keyboard. You have to "squeeze" them even if you are playing forte. :-)

  • actually not bad, quite above par, but too many forte notes and too few piano notes, that is, the dynamics is not dramatic enough, displaying an unsophisticated approach. Please try lisenting to Lang Lang's rendition to refine it.

  • awesome

  • This pianist is simply wonderful! Beautiful, thoughtful, and powerful.

  • excellent interpretation, I have listened to other musician on youtube and Michie would be one of those few who really made me clap my hand. Bravo !!

  • Outstanding!

  • yes fantastic

  • great!

  • Remarkable interpretation of the Etude of Chopin !

Everything that plays Michie, causes especial emotions and delight.

    Bravo !!

  • oh yes it is etude sorry

  • It is your misunderstanding.

  • @dindan4

No, you are wrong. It is an étude, designed to strengthen weak fingers, dynamic contrasts, and to encourage legato playing without using the sustain pedal. You could make the argument that it sounds like a prelude, but Chopin himself classified it as an étude.

  • @dindan4 Seriously << ... I agree with paanyax. It's also known as "Tristesse" I know the name is right because it's my favorite melody << ..

  • @dindan4 uhm wow this IS an etude

  • a pleasure to see and here and w new discoverance in your interpretation
