NEVER, NEVER, NEVER connect anything other than speakers to your amp. That is the WORST thing you could possibly do. An amp expects a resistive load. When you put diodes (Light Emitting Diodes) across the outputs, you're asking for trouble. Not only can the LEDs burn up but they can also short out the amps outputs!!!!
An amplifiers output is AC, LEDs are DC devices!!!!
With a photo transistor/ or - diode and a second amp it should even be possible to transform the light pulses back into music (with high distortion of course). LEDs can be modulated well into the MHz range.
i did that one time, except there were no other speakers plugged in, and there was actually crackling sound coming from the LED that sounded like the music

wow you should ve used a resittoir mine always have them and i have 6 kickers and 3 sony xpold 1000w amp and it didnt blow out

I fed nine volts to a tiny LED once. It cracked and exploded!

it would go up in smoke if you wired it to the AC power line. It glows red because it gets hot from the power going though it.
