  • Me: "I can't wait to see the comments section. We can all talk about the characters, our favorite parts, and the incredible genius of Sondheim's lyrics.

*Every single solitary comment is comparing the musical to the film*

    /facepalm

  • wow this song is so punny!!!! Great song!!!!

  • The "Locksmith" thing is funny but I don't know why. Could someone explain it?

  • @YouGandered101 because u can't rhyme Locksmith with anything. lol

  • The "Locksmith" thing is funny but I don't know why. Couture

  • Angela Lansbury is so cool

  • "We've got... tinker."

    "Ah, no... something pinker."

    "Tailor."

    "Something paler."

    "Potter."

    ... "Something hotter."

    "Butler."

    "Something... subtler."

    "... Locksmith."

  • I love this version AND I love the movie version.. they're two separate entities, in my opinion. The movie is darker, and this one is more fun.. but they can't really be classed as the same thing, because they're too vastly different.

  • @DramaMajor713 Exactly. This is a play, the movie is a film. Some things that you can do onstage just don't translate well to films. The movie is wonderful, and the play is wonderful, each in their own way.

  • This song disturbs me

  • YES! MY FAV SONG. LITTLE PRIEST. a friend and I did this song at school. (the edited version)

  • 2:38. I could've sworn they were going to hug.

  • If you listen to Mr. Todd after Mrs. Lovett's dance at 6:40, he's stifling a laugh xD and I don't blame him!

  • 1:51 Ding

  • I've watched this version in its entirety on youtube, and I've seen clips of the movie, and the play is much better. At least in my opinion.

  • I love Todd at @2:03.

  • "locksmith".

    "...>_>"

  • 1:52 - The moment the penny finally drops for poor Todd!

  • I love Todd's expression at abouts 1:59 he is so happy, like a little boy!!! :D

  • I.want.to.play.mrs lovit!!! (is it lovit or lovet? lol cant spell :P) xo

  • @xoTheQueenOfHeartsox It's actually supposed to be Lovette.

  • @xoTheQueenOfHeartsox It's Mrs. Lovett; you can read it on the sign over the pie shop. :)

  • @xoTheQueenOfHeartsox Lovett, and so do I!!!!!! :D :D :D

  • "It's piping hot!!" LOL

  • Im 25... and im finding angela kinda..hot.. Lmao Sorry to be crude but..id hit that :)

  • she sounds like ms. potts.

  • she is. it's the same lady.

  • @witchq12 she is XD

  • Angela Lansbury's dancing is amazing hahaha

  • thier facial expressions in this are just brilliant

  • @khfangirl01 because in a stage production things need to be exaggerated A LOT so that even the people in the very back can tell the expressions and so the people can get a sense of HOW happy sad or mad the characters are

  • This song has moments where angela opens her hands and it looks like shes got long fingers...anyways, this is still by far the best Sweeney...

  • I love the taler/paler bit. Especially his face when he says locksmith. lol

  • ROFL

    Mrs. Lovitt:

    Here's the politician, so oily

    It's served with a doily,

    Have one!

    TODD:

    Put it on a bun.

Well, you never know if it's going to run!

  • I love this. The whole play is great.

  • The actor always arrives overdone! XD I nearly peed myself at that!

  • I LOVE SWEENEY TODD!! ^^

  • what are you talking about the movie was hilarious

  • I agree.

  • i wouldn't agree with some of it. i mean, if you are familiar with the original, i would guess so, but it just seemed that most of the jokes were removed from the movie.

  • Oh I completely agree. Like the General without his privates, its the best line and they cut it from the film.

  • @khesed I really have to agree, Though this kind of world is perfect for Tim Burtton to do a film. But the thing about this musical is that its a black comedy. I honestly despise the film. The singers were horrible compared to these fine fine singers.

  • some of it's funny, some of it's scary, and some of it is sad

  • Yeah the play is a lot lighter than the movie. It's more of a dark comedy, whereas the movie is just one creepy scene after another.

  • These guys are absoltely fabulous! I love the part when Angela hits him in the begining! so funny!! This is the best song in the play. George's expression when he said "AHH!" when he gets Mrs. Lovett's idea is great! But the best is when he says "That everybody goes down well with beer!" SO HILARIOUS! And the way he laughs when he says "It's piping hot!" HAHAHA!! Shame they took out all the humor in the movie. :-(

  • downright shame.

    :( :(
