These things are very very durable. i shot mine with a .410 shotgun and a .22 pellet then droped into a lake shooting off a dock, while it was on....i found it next day 15 feet under. stuck it in the sun to dry and it rained...i thought it was garbage but 4 months later i stick a new battery in try a few shots and works like new. nothing beats the original chrony
I will for sure be buying one then. I will wait until it warm up here since based of your info I would need to do it outside. Nice knowing if the ammo really does what the box says!
Well that rules out indoor then. At the outdoor range I can't put it on the ledge and step 10' back to fire through it. So what's my options for using one? I could put it 10' out from the resting ledge but would have to build a stand to get it at the right height.
@intercooler2 That is why the chronograph has a tripod mount on the bottom so that you can put it on a camera tripod and have it at standing height or at shooting bench height. Their is no need to build a stand for it. Fit it to a tripod and ask the range staff if you can put it in front of the shooting line. Once it set up and on you don't have to touch it because it automatically displays each shot that you fire.
@intercooler2 about 10 feet ..... for the shotgun and 308 Winchester. The chrony can be used indoors but you can only use incandescent fulfillment lighting other wise you will get false reading. If their is fluorescent lighting at the range the high speed flickering of the light will cause the chrony to go hay wire.
You can get an indoor lighting kit from shooting chrony that clips on to the white defusers that will allow the chrony to be used indoor
bloody well shot mine up today.only had it 2 days.still works though

Well done!! Excellent video. Could you do a video on developing a range card from the data you got from the Chrony?

How far away from the front face of the Chrony is your gun? Could this be done in an inside range?
