@Wofka1986 The Romans were superior in an Open battle, against any opponents. The Germanic tribes knew this and used the surroundings to defeat them, Ambushing them. One on one the Romans were weaker and thus easier to defeat. When attacking on a open battlefield the Roman armies organisation were to strong. The Germanic tribes inflicted damage on the Romans even when they were one Empire. But every empire have its downfall, Rome aswell.

@vlad9vt Look I admire the Kiewan Rus and they were amazing warriors, but the Mongols had at the time a better warfare strategy. Almost all history sources say that the Mongols were less in numbers. The Kiewan rus (not exactly modern Russians) beat them first , but after that they overspaned ther lines and were destoyed(Kalka river) ... I 'm not sure, but I think only the northern russians have relative success , because of their enviroment..

The Mongols destoryed the numerically smaller germans and polnish forces in Leibnitz and they destroyed the Hungarians but they went not further du to two reasons. First, they must return because the dead of the mongol ruler. Second, the european clima and the fortresses are not good for the mongols art of war..

I think it would be very difficult for the Mongols to conquer Europe and of course it would be very difficult for the europeans to threaten seriously the mongol empire..
