Wow, your whole "I wish I didn't have to make this fucking video" Don't put yourself out. Hearing you droll on, like you're some sort of authority, made me feel angry inside. You're not really doing a service to anyone, if you have to act like an elitist asshole while doing it.
You're not doing cause you have to, you're doing it cause you want to. Nobody asked you to.
Always nice to have a logical debunk video. Ive followed u for a bit now, good job breaking it down to the bare basics. Auto alternators pull 5 hp on MOST engines, no matter how many amps the alternator can make (35-300 amps). So, if u have a 300 amp alt. with a super efficient brown gas gen. (RLC), do some r&d with stan M's help, and understand the mysteries of water, H,O Plasma, and the second law of thermodynamics. Hope ur well
i guess you missed the one important part - the gasoline, to drive the engine, is the converted water .. further you forgot the fact, that the Ah created by the alternator are more important than the voltage - but get a bit informations about that in a regular physics-book ;) so.. nvm - the fact is, that HHO replaces the gasoline to run an engine. that engine spins the alternator. at this point i want to ask you a question - is it bad to "burn" more HHO into H2O by stressing our alternator?
Woah, Desertphile. I admire your patience with the illiterate, the deluded and those who simply have a hard time admitting that they are wrong.
I think you are doing a good job. I am not so sure, if what you do are doing is healthy though. I mean - most of the people who oppose you here seem to have issues unrelated to an understanding of thermodynamics. How do you deal with that?
@smarthandsomeguy ; Thank you for your very kind comment, and yes, it gets tedious. Victims of fraud often defend the people who defrauded them, because the victims have an emotional as well as financial investment in their own abuse. It's... frightening.
What a joke this guy is, for anyone who wants to know the truth, simply YouTube search the video called "Stanley Myers" That video is the clearest proof that guys like this are completely clueless or being paid by some oil company to cause confusion among new researchers to this field. The proof is in the putting, also go to my YouTune site and look through the hundreds of videos that all show working HHO units that are verified and certified. Meanwhile this guy needs a team of psycologists.
@VonBraun87545 Water is the ashes of burnt hydrogen. To convert it back to hydrogen take more ENERGY. YOU cannot prove that it does work because YOU don't even know what an atom is. You need a team of physicists.
@VonBraun87545 Now why would oil companies want to pay this guy and hide the "truth" ? You do realize that generating HHO gas consumes energy - energy you get FROM the oil companies. So HHO is good for the oil companies.
Obviously, you are an idiot and hence cannot see any reason or logic.
This guy already knows that HHO works in any internal combustion motor in whole or part but he pretends to not "believe" in it simply to get attention. Mentally deficiant.
@VonBraun87545 >"This guy already knows that HHO works in any internal combustion motor"
This guy knows that and understands why such devices will make ANY engine less efficient. The physics involved was discovered by ppl trying to make engines more efficient, btw. Every system EVER observed obeys the laws of thermodynamics. No exception yet. If you have one: demonstrate it.
Until then, an HHO device is nothing but an inefficient car heating device.
One guy claims he is using only the hydrogen to lean out the mixture without the problems that come with running too lean. If you are able to lean out the mixture without raising exhaust temperatures, you will get better gas mileage. Is his claim that you can use hydrogen as to accomplish lean mixtures while maintaining emission standards valid, even in theory?
Oh my fucking god you are such an arrogant retard. You talk like you know so much, but you don't even know how a fucking voltage regulator works. It doesn't turn the alternator electrical field on and off. It holds the car's system voltage steady, usually at 14.6 volts. AND the alternator is ALWAYS ON, It powers the entire car when the engine is running! Get the fuck off youtube and go fix your fences.
I wish "the bloody fuck" as you say, that you would drop off the Earth and do the world a favor yourself! You are so full of yourself in this awful video.
Ur a jackass the voltage regulator keeps ur alternator from making to much or to little volts it keeps the volts at 14 all the time if ur voltage reg go's bad u can get as much as 20 volts win the motor is running normal driving rpm that would overload ur battery jackass so ya the alternator it always on
Your so stupid. Do more research. You can run an engine only with hydrogen. Now run your elaborate alt. On said engine... Just repeating the word gasoline does nothing.
We have been traveling around the USA for six months in a 29ft RV. I have tested my MPG before HHO and consistently got 8.0mpg which is shocking but apparently normal for a Ford 7.2litre V8 engine. After I built a crude 16 plate HHO system and installed it. I immediately got 8.6mpg. I increased the amps until i was at maximum before meltdown or boiling. I now enjoy around 9.0MPG and have saved more than $1000 in fuel in 25000 miles. 10-15% savings is still better than none.
get a switch and a voltmeter on the battery, so when the battery is fully charged turn the switch off, so it doesnt use the battery, and it just uses what electricity is coming from the alternator, bye the way so long as the crankshaft in the engine is spinning the alternator is spinning, there for it's always creating electricity. thumbs up dudes and dudeses. lol
@cam1996reeves Do not do that. The battery needs to stay connected for two reasons. It acts as a surge suppressor and absorbs short burst of higher voltages. Like when you turn off your heater and there is excess power for a couple milliseconds. And it acts as a capacitor, providing extra power when there is a sudden demand for extra power. Like when your turn on your heater at full speed. Without the battery the alternator is left to pick up the slack and it will wear out your alternator.
we all dont want a war about the source :gas, oil , diesell .Stupidity
we all now the cost of life ,but if somebody trying to stop me from doing thermaldepolaryzation i be here for them .They trying have monopol on awerything.
every 'debunker' comes out with the same tired out old crap...."an alternator causes drag".....so......mount a permanent magnet generator, powered by a wind turbine, hey fkn presto!! much less drag but still plenty of electricity to run the hydroliser.
As i know, (so i have ben teached) and correct me if i'm wrong, The regulator is there for batery overload protection: More RPM in engine means more generated electricity to the batteries, and regulator regulate this exes voltage to constant 12 - 13 volts. othervise battery would explode.
Min. 800 RPM is neded for alternator generating electricity of 12 volt's...
And what are you telling is crap... That means tha HHO generetors might work... :)
Might be a bit rough with your description BUT you are right on the money,,,, I have had this arguement with IDIOTS for years (THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH) is my descriptor.
Might be a bit rough with your description BUT you are right on the money,,,, I have had this arguement with IDIOTS for years (THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A FREE LUNCH) is my descriptor.
what about the fact that the hydrogen and oxygen mixed in with the fuel gives a better burn? You are taking advantage of power in the fuel that is normally not released due to incomplete combustion.
Solar, wind, and natural waterfall, is pretty much the only "free" energy available. If none of those are available to you, then you can't produce it "freely".
@gorgeousdzastr We have TV signals that could be converted to electricity, there is elcetro magnetic fluxes all around. But i know they are not of any significant intensity..
@turbofritz2 yes but those too are not free, they come from a TV station, that uses electricity. The electromagnetic fields are always open source true. So you can add that to the list. LOL
@gorgeousdzastr yeah you are right :) But the nazis are supposed to have runned UFO's with hep og magnetism by super pressurizing some liquid metal with iron particles and having the liquid circulate in some way. THere are some info on UFO's that are rather interesting. Im not too sure if it's something.
First of all, go do whatever it is you have to do. Your not helping anyone. Second, Alternators produce 60 to 130 amps, your ignition system uses 15 on it's own. Third, people like you only impede or hamper evolution of technology. They once said that a computer and television would only be available to corporations and the rich. Look where we are now. And, finally, there are patents on this stuff. Patent # 5149407, 4936961, 4826581 and several others. Do some research, dipshit.
he actually is right any extra electrical load on a car the harder the alternator has to work
2. automotive companies have rooms and building of engineers that DESIGN actually design cars to run a specific way. car companies are held to very strict standards on emissions. so when you hook up some garage gadget u mess with the A/F mixture, which messes with the emissions because the cars MULTIPLE on-board computer don't know what is going on. cars are super clean now, and CO is NOT A BAD THING
you couldnt be more wrong. have you even tried the HHO generator? you never know till you try. YOU are the clown. because the hydrogen burns faster than gasoline it helps fuel economy. regardless of the charge drawn from the alternator. I suggest you remove this video all it proves is that you are a complete idiot.
Not all people here are ignorant neophytes I have a degree in Electronics and Electricity so not much you can teach me, but one thing I know is that an HHO producing cell should work because it's Hydrogen power you're burning. Certainly the alternator consumes energy but if you build an efficient cell that runs say with 7 Amps or less, the gain in HP and miles your engine will deliver will be greater than the drag your alternator puts on the engine. The headlamps consume 100 W each for exampl
@rockethead555 you may have a electrical degree but you have no idea how cars operate. I have 7 ASE's and am a BMW certified tech. I have seen cars go into default mode because some idiot ran across plans online and bought into it. the cars multiple computers (almost 100+ on late models) have no idea what is goin on and why the emissions are not where they should be. the amount of hydrogen produced does nothing but mess with where your A/F should be, it does not add power or miles.
@bmwguy1905 well of course that you have to consider the computers's parameters (O2 sensors, Map, Maf, etc) while you install an HHO Cell, I never said just to inject HHO into the combustion chamber without looking at the computer. And the newer the car the more complex the signals to and from the computer. Thats why the car industry is happy to make things complex not really to make them better but to have you tight from the ass so you won't have any options but to be their slave
Nothing this guy said is a lie and yet there are more dislikes that likes! Humans are fickle when it comes to hearing something they don't want to hear; irregardless of it being true or not. Humans! Why do I bother? lol
Stupid retard. Alternator in cars are spinning wherever the engine is running. It does not suffers a drag when the regulator let the charge to the battery.
dude number of companies made a 100% water cars...
but HHO is not a water fuel.. its a hydroxide assistant additive.. NEVER heard anyone selling HHO that says all you need is water for an HHO system... so DONT lie to try and make your own point to refute it back again..
ALSo pls get some education.. the alternator runs weather or not your using HHO or not. there is not much drag on the engine compared to the extra power created by HHO
@frank0067 just curious because i have never seen one. could you tell me what to look for when looking for a car that runs 100% on water? also ive had an alternator that didn't shut off. its the same reason they don't use generators. my battery became overcharged and exploded... was not a pretty picture...
@hessian144 Your alternator will never shut off. The voltage regulator does NOT turn it on and off like this idiot says. It maintains a steady system voltage when the engine is running, usually 14.6 volts. This guy has no idea what he is talking about. In your case it was still your voltage regulator that went out and it allowed to much voltage to go to your battery.
@frank0067 yea i know man... they're amazing... the only problem is that they only work in rivers... and can only accelerate to the speed that the river is moving
The engine isn't "burning" gasoline either retard-any material in a liquid or gaseous state can be used. You have been sucked into the 'gasoline' scam dude. Better take a few more hits before you make the next video el tardo
@namegoeshere79 you dont have to be a scientist to know that having hydrogen and oxygen around a potential ignition source makes it go bang! more oxygen means the charge will need more fuel = less efficient, but the hydrogen allows the hydrocarbon fuel to be more explosive. check out syn-fuels. hydrogen and syn- hydrocarbon fuels.
also mate. there's no need to be condescending, you shouldn't talk people down for having an idea. being wrong means there's more to learn, that's my take
@smackout at the end of the day, these HHO engine enhancers that attach to your alternator don't improve gas mileage. I choose to believe the EPA who have tested hundreds of these and said just as much.
I choose to believe MIT and the EPA over banter on YouTube. So if you can find a unique way to harness waste energy from the engine, there's KW's of it, to improve efficiency I'm right behind you.
But I am a skeptic of this specific method that goes against physics and is disproved by the EPA.
@smackout Google hydrogen enhanced combustion engine.
It is known hydrogen can improve engines. The point of debate is how that hydrogen is created. Using the alternator's "spare", or waste, energy doesn't work because there is no waste electrical energy. But you can use waste heat energy and that's what this MIT plasma fuel reformer does. It also gets the hydrogen directly from the gas and not from any water reservoir, maybe because its requires less energy to liberate H2 from gas than water.
@smackout Also as a final thought: I don't mean to piss in your pool and claim "Only the smartest PH.D has the right to experiment". I believe the exact opposite.
But many of these HHO devices are a known scam that honest people need to speak up against. If you are trying to convince people of an honest advance in an area infested with scammers the burden of proof is 100x what it normally would be.
@namegoeshere79 also since the points you mentioned before have been answered, (comparing hho with nos and water injection.) and to answer your question, i am not a competent scientist, but i have experimented with these systems and can say they work if done properly. to burn water you must first seperate it into its basic elements. hydrogen and oxygen (that statement alone answers you question) using electrolysis or the use of a vortex heat exchanger. plasma has no problems burning water.
@namegoeshere79 mate i am only justifying whatever you have pointed out. increasing air density.... doesn;'t that mean increasing the ability of a volume of air to carry oxygen? how am i confusing making power against efficiency mate? point that out for me. as i have stated.. water injection etc is only to cool the air charge. adding methanol increases it's octane rating. and in my experience tuning a car to make power also entails making it more efficient at burning the charge than standard.
@namegoeshere79 you can make the engine have extremely high temps, as it does, in the combustion chamber, provided the engine block can remain cool. a vortex heat exchanger method can be used to create sufficient energy to generate what is needed to break water down using the exhaust gases and magnetic fields they create.
you people need to actually make these yourselves and experiment, the books you read are only accurate until the next discovery has been made :) 1st ed. science books r gold
@namegoeshere79 so why do high performance tuners use water injection?? to cool the air charge and give it more density. methanol is also used to increase the octane slightly and have a greater cooling effect. also engine vacuum means the system is under vacuum. not atmospheric pressure
the first point you made. yes an engine cant run that high a temp. using the alternator is taking power to make power. but so is a supercharger.
@namegoeshere79 have you tried any of these systems for yourself? water doesn't require that many amps that it would be a strain for the alternator. and what your pointing out is that water cannot break down until a high temperature is reached, and is a liquid at atmospheric pressure. true. but your talking about injecting water the same way as NOS. of course it wont work. unless it is atomized under high pressure, such as in water injection systems,
@smackout You're confusing increasing the power of an engine with increasing its efficiency. There is no way to "burn" water and gain more energy from a gallon of gasoline. You speak of ways to increase power: water injection, methanol, superchargers, but those all are just tricks to get more oxygen into the engine that will allow it to burn more gas.
More Power. Same amount of energy per gallon.
Can you come up with a real chemical explanation for how to burn water or only bad analogies?
Complete silliness, HHO works for me, and no it is not free energy nor does it break any of the laws of thermodynamics. Here's the formula: 1000 pulses per second give or take at 1.8 to 2.4 volts @10amps across the cell, which is about 24 watts. The trick is in building the electronics to create this frequency from regular 12 volt output from your cars electrical system.
You can fuel a car or trian with water its called a steam engine an its very unsafe to run a car with a steam engine in it because, if you crash guess what all over you, and also it could explode (something you might want to look in to) yea so there you go.
@BookBurnington Steam engines don't run on water. The water is boiled by another combustible fuel which is the true source of energy and the water just transfers that energy to a piston. When used this way the water is called the working fluid.
Train steam engines run on coal or wood, not water but steam engines in general can run on anything that can burn.
you are a retard, why do you think nitrous oxide is used to boost a cars power? because it contains oxides!, hho granted needs to be produced at a significant amount, but it still adds to the combustiblity of the fuel air charge therefore delivering more bang per cycle, alternators can be used in a trickle situation into a back of capacitors. therfore eliminating the drag. these are not free energy devices but they do add to the octane rating of the air fuel charge. vortex heat exchngr is better
Nitrox is stored as a liquid. When it is released into the intake it vaporizes, reducing the temperature of the incoming air and increasing its density, improving the Carnot efficiency of the engine. Water is liquid at atmospheric pressure so you can't gain this benefit.
@smackout There are two effects that allow Nitrox to improve the power of an engine. Niether will work with water.
Number one:
as you said, when Nitrox enters the engine it decomposes into N2 and O2 above a temp of 570 deg F and the O2 feeds the engine. This would work for water if the engine could run above 5500 deg F, the temp at which it decomposes, but the engine would melt at that temp. Using the alternator to decompose the water is just starving Paul to feed Peter.
A friend of mine was making and selling these device's, the reason was to make $, I told him they don't work, he has no comprehension of the theory only the crap he reads on the net, as far I could see I'd liken it to a leaky inlet manifold, where the engine races a little faster and seems smoother, but everybody is aware of what that can do, burns out the engine valve's, I told him to go buy a commercial water injection system, will do the same thing as this device claims but better
@Geoffreyinoz ; Indeed, the water vapor from these "hho" devices may cause more harm to the engine than it is worth; I have no idea how much damage, if any. Some people use a device to try to dry the oxyhydrogen before it is trickled into the air intake manifold. All this is pointless, though: if they want an increase in fuel economy, they need only drive slower.
@Desertphile, A little water vapor will do no harm as long as it's not to much, it will make the engine run a little better just as it would on a cool rainy day, it gives the engine a denser charge, water injection has been used for years in the aviation industry, WW2 fighters used water injection, could most probably liken it to an intercooler aimed at performance more than economy but that being said more power means you don't need a lead foot, water injection was used with turbo chargers.
@Desertphile I think that people that install this HHO's are driving more responsibly, most likely a psychological side affect of believing that it works, so when they swear that they are saving money, they are because their driving habits have changed and they actually measure their savings to prove that it works, I myself have used a vacuum gauge to drive by to test the theory, I had a 50% fuel saving over the known distance but it can give you a headache with the extra awareness needed.
im not sure that a mass produced engine cant be made that support hydrogen, but its still science that electroysis takes more energy to take water apart than you can, even theoretically, get from hydrogen. if some wanna claim its cleaner depending on engine design or a clean stationary electric source for mass production of fuel, then thats a whole different story.but you are pissed off about is that people say electrolysis is exothermic, nope, combustion is the exothermic twin of the reactions.
This guy is a total moron, he's just trying to get attention, that's all and he is getting it. If he did his research he would find out that HHO burns fuel more efficiently by getting more bang for your buck.
HHO is only a 'free' energy source if your getting the voltage from someplace other than the grid. Stirling engine powering a generator, solar cells, wind turbine, or whatever. Its neat stuff, it really is. Hydrogen, HHO, and pretty much everything else is not a source of 'free' energy. Nuclear reactions are the only verified source, everything else is BS. Magnets are also not an energy source. You people are up there with scientologists when it comes to being blind sheep.
@CgKing2k Right that means that it is not the HHO that gives you free energy, it is the free energy that runs the HHO that gives you the free ride. And Desertphile is still correct! because we don't have access to enough free electricity to ever Run it efficiently.
HHO, Browns Gas, whatever you want to call it is not an energy source. It is a means to transport energy. There is no way to get water to magically re-arrange into HHO - you have to use electricity. All you did was turn the potential work of electricity into a gas which gets combusted to do work. It is a HUGE waste of energy to go through that many conversions since you loose energy on each conversion. But most of you are idiots and have 0 grasp of science / reality. I have a bridge for sale....
Hahahaha... My HHO engine runs without gasoline, it's not needed even pump petrol in the tank that I have. HHO produce 5L per minute running Opel vectra 1.8
O K , so it does NOT work for you , I get it. But APPARENTLY it does work for others . YOU are just ' speculation ' and do not know anyone who has a working unit. Five hundred and sixty one youtube video's , you have too much free time. Try it until it works for you and then RETRACT all your negative opinion comments!
@CaptainD983102 Come on... It is a fact, that it takes more energy to 'crack" hydro, than it gives in economy. That is the whole point.... this is not speculation...this is fact. This one very important fact is the reason we don't have an engine that can run H efficiently. This problem holds the whole industry back. I have spoken with scientists on this issue and tried to argue for it. But the science is not there yet, and they claim it never will be efficient. So Desertphile is correct!
Yes this man is a Retard!! typical know it all that doesnt want to see new money saving technology... yes h2 electrolysis has issues but not to be counted out yet ... as long as oil is 2 miles in the ground this stuff has potential .
@bentwheel1 Well in science potential is not good enough, until it is efficient, it remains inefficient. Your argument that potential means it is here and that that somehow also means Desertphile is wrong, has not been established. In fact you have disproved your own statement. Potentially you could be a retard, and your statement suggest this, but until it is proven that you are retard, we can't say so.
Maybe this guy can't build a successful generator. I've build a HHO genny which can feed a 1.3L engine without any GASOLINE. Do more research and don't whine so much and blame others.
@tony2304 Yeah, but is the electricity you're using to break down the water free? You're pumping in more energy than you're getting out; you just don't realize it because you're not measuring it.
First the regulator is not to turn the field off. Then a permanent magnets alternator just for the the hho cells will do the job and will generate more power than a regular alternator. Why no use the hot air or the pressure from the muffler to move an alternator and generate electricity.
It is very possible to fuel a car by the two simpler components which make up water. It is already proven that a small amount of hydrogen can run a car, and so the combination of oxygen and hydrogen can run a car.
It sounds to me like you just got scammed by someone and are just bitter. The systems that use any electrolyte to produce the hydrogen are the fraudulent ones as none is needed with the right circuit.
Hmm - good points. The one place.. *one place* that I could see the alternator giving energy back that would otherwise be "wasted" is if used as part of some sort of regenerative braking system for some hybrid car. If you are trying to come to a stop, may as well take some of that energy for use later.
What gov. is paying you? or who are u afraid of? Just to show your talking BS, my 1993 4x4 subaru which the manuel says gets 21 MPG,actually has gotten and average of 42 MPG since I installed a homemade hho unit along w/ a vaporizer,PCV line air compressor filter, and added a special fuel additive.I topped 62.1 by adding a small amount of steam on the highway, but w/out steam averaged 42 mpg for the last 2 years.....so stick that B.S.! Rick
im not one to post bad comments but this needs to be addressed to save our pioneers in this world. i dont know how anyone can put down someone for trying to bring a well known technology to light and apply it in a piratical sense. it is this liberal garbage that has set the technology back generations. if someone wants to create own thats there choice. also if ur going to refer to energy being wasted, u wasted more energy taping and posting this video, and peoples time.
@darkmetalhacker ; ". i dont know how anyone can put down someone for trying to bring a well known technology to light and apply it in a piratical sense."
This video does none of that. It exposed the oxyhydrogen scam. The intent is to educate people so that they are not defrauded.
Liberal garbage? Sawed off! It's liberal garbage to let people spread bullshit & obfuscation with impunity because you don't want to hurt their feelings. It's not about the "Pioneer Spirit", It's about conning people out of money. You would not know the "Pioneer Spirit" if it sat on your face & wiggled.
And what's a "piratical" & where's your proper capitalization & spelling?
An Alternator is a moderately efficient device. An internal combustion engine is not, particularily. Gasoline lacks octane and is not completely combusted. Take some electricity, create a small amount of highly explosive gas, improve your combustion of the gas, and you have created a small improvement of horsepower. Subtract from that gain your electrical cost in amps and left over is your gain. When done correctly. God your thick.
When you use one device which is more efficient (alternator 60%) and create an additive fuel (hydrogen) which improves another very -inefficient- fuel's combustion, the math is not as simple as your unresearched point of view, which may explain why UBC Physics students, 4th yr., are doing a studies project (tinyurl dot com /2bg9c9o) on HHO - AND YOUR NOT. If the answer was as easy as your pea brain makes it out to be NO ONE WOULD BOTHER. Duh
you must only belave in what chose to read . your car's alternator after 1996 and up
start charging to 13.8 to14.2 volts put out 80+ amps thats a fact your car bat is only for starting only. the VR. just tell how many amps to charge it takes 1.5 to 8 hp. to
pull most alternators i dont use hho but have friends that do and thay run on a 20 amp fuse the same fuse like whats in the radio so please dont try to make a fact
out of what you dont understand. what did you make to help with gas??
@pianoman0488 you assume that a car going down hill puts energy through the axle to the transmission then back to the engine well that would depend on things like is the car automatic of straight drive . why because a automatic has a torqec converter which slipps going down hill while engine is idle. plus other factors which make you idea unworkable . in a perfect world you get o percent loss of power but in reality frictions and thermal dynamics robb your idea sorry just stating fact!!!!
@247news1 your the one uneducated because everything desertphile stated is true its called the laws of thermal dynamics ! you dont get something for nothing . in fact for every convergence of energy there is always a dynamic loss. but you grew up in the age of obama bullshit about green technology so its not your fault that your stupid . desrtphil may not look and talk well but his knowledge is unquestionable!!! thats why for over a hundered years we still using fossel fuels .
apparently not everyone trying this is using the alternator to supply power to the fuel cell... i´ve heard rumours of stirling engines being driven by the engines cooling system and used to generate electricity from the vast amount of energy being wasted by the engine... if a 100 hp car is loosing 200hp of energy as heat, which it probably is, thats around 150kw of power that could be put to use... any thoughts?
Petrol engines are not 100% efficient, lets say 50%. If adding HHO to the 'mixture' increases the burning efficiency to 55% then you could save fuel. The cost is the electrical energy taken to create the HHO but you get most that back when you burn it.
I can't see how it can power a car alone but I can see how HHO could increase the burning efficiency of your usual fuel. The actual energy from the HHO is probably insignificant. I recon they take 120 watts to run and provide only 100watts.
@RavenPrecept the sad truth is that water in your mixture won´t make your engine more efficient (which are actually less than 50% efficient) what water does is to low your chamber´s temperature so you can inject more fuel and get some extra power of it (at the cost of that fuel with it´s efficiency loss) the guy in the video is right about everything. Electrolysis is an energy expensive process that adds one more link in the inefficiency chain.
I've thought a lot about this HHO generator gasoline engine stuff. Suppose you install an HHO canister and associated piping/wires. And, suppose you think a bit further than an idling engine. What about a car, with a charged battery, going downhill, in gear? If the tires are connected to axles, connected to the transmission, connected to the engine - you can see easily that the kinetic energy released moving downhill can go directly into generating HHO in the canister...thoughts anyone?
Your facts are true about energy consumption to create the hydrogen from the alternator. Have you considered that the efficiency of the burning of gas increasing, do to hydrogens unique properties are a benefit? I think so. Of course, this works if the electronics and O2 sensors are painstakingly modified, or O2 not injected into engine at all. I have always wondered if solar power generated straight hydrogen in auxiliary refillable tanks my be the way a tinkerer should go.
@ehanson50 I think solar is the right way to go. People constantly bash hydrogen fuel cells and their relatives claiming that "it takes more energy to break the water molecule up than you get burning it". That's true...at room temperature. As the temperature of the water increases, the amount of energy it takes to break the molecules decreases. This goes for water under a burner as well as water heating up in an HHO canister under the hood of a car........

@VonBraun87545 Now why would oil companies want to pay this guy and hide the "truth" ? You do realize that generating HHO gas consumes energy - energy you get FROM the oil companies. So HHO is good for the oil companies.

10-15% savings is still better than none.

get a switch and a voltmeter on the battery, so when the battery is fully charged turn the switch off, so it doesnt use the battery, and it just uses what electricity is coming from the alternator, bye the way so long as the crankshaft in the engine is spinning the alternator is spinning, there for it's always creating electricity. thumbs up dudes and dudeses. lol
cam1996reeves 5 months ago
@cam1996reeves Do not do that. The battery needs to stay connected for two reasons. It acts as a surge suppressor and absorbs short burst of higher voltages. Like when you turn off your heater and there is excess power for a couple milliseconds. And it acts as a capacitor, providing extra power when there is a sudden demand for extra power. Like when your turn on your heater at full speed. Without the battery the alternator is left to pick up the slack and it will wear out your alternator.

The headlamps consume 100 W each for exampl
rockethead555 8 months ago
@rockethead555 you may have a electrical degree but you have no idea how cars operate. I have 7 ASE's and am a BMW certified tech. I have seen cars go into default mode because some idiot ran across plans online and bought into it. the cars multiple computers (almost 100+ on late models) have no idea what is goin on and why the emissions are not where they should be. the amount of hydrogen produced does nothing but mess with where your A/F should be, it does not add power or miles.
bmwguy1905 7 months ago
@bmwguy1905 well of course that you have to consider the computers's parameters (O2 sensors, Map, Maf, etc) while you install an HHO Cell, I never said just to inject HHO into the combustion chamber without looking at the computer. And the newer the car the more complex the signals to and from the computer. Thats why the car industry is happy to make things complex not really to make them better but to have you tight from the ass so you won't have any options but to be their slave

NameGoesHere79 10 months ago
@smackout Google hydrogen enhanced combustion engine.
It is known hydrogen can improve engines. The point of debate is how that hydrogen is created. Using the alternator's "spare", or waste, energy doesn't work because there is no waste electrical energy. But you can use waste heat energy and that's what this MIT plasma fuel reformer does. It also gets the hydrogen directly from the gas and not from any water reservoir, maybe because its requires less energy to liberate H2 from gas than water.
NameGoesHere79 10 months ago
@smackout Also as a final thought: I don't mean to piss in your pool and claim "Only the smartest PH.D has the right to experiment". I believe the exact opposite.
But many of these HHO devices are a known scam that honest people need to speak up against. If you are trying to convince people of an honest advance in an area infested with scammers the burden of proof is 100x what it normally would be.
NameGoesHere79 10 months ago
@namegoeshere79 also since the points you mentioned before have been answered, (comparing hho with nos and water injection.) and to answer your question, i am not a competent scientist, but i have experimented with these systems and can say they work if done properly. to burn water you must first seperate it into its basic elements. hydrogen and oxygen (that statement alone answers you question) using electrolysis or the use of a vortex heat exchanger. plasma has no problems burning water.
smackout 10 months ago
@namegoeshere79 mate i am only justifying whatever you have pointed out. increasing air density.... doesn;'t that mean increasing the ability of a volume of air to carry oxygen? how am i confusing making power against efficiency mate? point that out for me. as i have stated.. water injection etc is only to cool the air charge. adding methanol increases it's octane rating. and in my experience tuning a car to make power also entails making it more efficient at burning the charge than standard.

rickm09 10 months ago
@namegoeshere79 you can make the engine have extremely high temps, as it does, in the combustion chamber, provided the engine block can remain cool. a vortex heat exchanger method can be used to create sufficient energy to generate what is needed to break water down using the exhaust gases and magnetic fields they create.
you people need to actually make these yourselves and experiment, the books you read are only accurate until the next discovery has been made :) 1st ed. science books r gold
smackout 10 months ago
@namegoeshere79 so why do high performance tuners use water injection?? to cool the air charge and give it more density. methanol is also used to increase the octane slightly and have a greater cooling effect. also engine vacuum means the system is under vacuum. not atmospheric pressure
the first point you made. yes an engine cant run that high a temp. using the alternator is taking power to make power. but so is a supercharger.
smackout 10 months ago
@namegoeshere79 have you tried any of these systems for yourself? water doesn't require that many amps that it would be a strain for the alternator. and what your pointing out is that water cannot break down until a high temperature is reached, and is a liquid at atmospheric pressure. true. but your talking about injecting water the same way as NOS. of course it wont work. unless it is atomized under high pressure, such as in water injection systems,
smackout 10 months ago
@smackout You're confusing increasing the power of an engine with increasing its efficiency. There is no way to "burn" water and gain more energy from a gallon of gasoline. You speak of ways to increase power: water injection, methanol, superchargers, but those all are just tricks to get more oxygen into the engine that will allow it to burn more gas.
More Power. Same amount of energy per gallon.
Can you come up with a real chemical explanation for how to burn water or only bad analogies?
NameGoesHere79 10 months ago
Complete silliness, HHO works for me, and no it is not free energy nor does it break any of the laws of thermodynamics. Here's the formula: 1000 pulses per second give or take at 1.8 to 2.4 volts @10amps across the cell, which is about 24 watts. The trick is in building the electronics to create this frequency from regular 12 volt output from your cars electrical system.
winchelenator 10 months ago
You can fuel a car or trian with water its called a steam engine an its very unsafe to run a car with a steam engine in it because, if you crash guess what all over you, and also it could explode (something you might want to look in to) yea so there you go.
BookBurnington 10 months ago
@BookBurnington Steam engines don't run on water. The water is boiled by another combustible fuel which is the true source of energy and the water just transfers that energy to a piston. When used this way the water is called the working fluid.
Train steam engines run on coal or wood, not water but steam engines in general can run on anything that can burn.
NameGoesHere79 10 months ago
you are a retard, why do you think nitrous oxide is used to boost a cars power? because it contains oxides!, hho granted needs to be produced at a significant amount, but it still adds to the combustiblity of the fuel air charge therefore delivering more bang per cycle, alternators can be used in a trickle situation into a back of capacitors. therfore eliminating the drag. these are not free energy devices but they do add to the octane rating of the air fuel charge. vortex heat exchngr is better
smackout 11 months ago
@smackout
Number two:
Nitrox is stored as a liquid. When it is released into the intake it vaporizes, reducing the temperature of the incoming air and increasing its density, improving the Carnot efficiency of the engine. Water is liquid at atmospheric pressure so you can't gain this benefit.
NameGoesHere79 10 months ago
@smackout There are two effects that allow Nitrox to improve the power of an engine. Niether will work with water.
Number one:
as you said, when Nitrox enters the engine it decomposes into N2 and O2 above a temp of 570 deg F and the O2 feeds the engine. This would work for water if the engine could run above 5500 deg F, the temp at which it decomposes, but the engine would melt at that temp. Using the alternator to decompose the water is just starving Paul to feed Peter.
Won't work.
NameGoesHere79 10 months ago
A friend of mine was making and selling these device's, the reason was to make $, I told him they don't work, he has no comprehension of the theory only the crap he reads on the net, as far I could see I'd liken it to a leaky inlet manifold, where the engine races a little faster and seems smoother, but everybody is aware of what that can do, burns out the engine valve's, I told him to go buy a commercial water injection system, will do the same thing as this device claims but better
Geoffreyinoz 11 months ago
@Geoffreyinoz ; Indeed, the water vapor from these "hho" devices may cause more harm to the engine than it is worth; I have no idea how much damage, if any. Some people use a device to try to dry the oxyhydrogen before it is trickled into the air intake manifold. All this is pointless, though: if they want an increase in fuel economy, they need only drive slower.
Desertphile 11 months ago
@Desertphile, A little water vapor will do no harm as long as it's not to much, it will make the engine run a little better just as it would on a cool rainy day, it gives the engine a denser charge, water injection has been used for years in the aviation industry, WW2 fighters used water injection, could most probably liken it to an intercooler aimed at performance more than economy but that being said more power means you don't need a lead foot, water injection was used with turbo chargers.
Geoffreyinoz 11 months ago
@Desertphile I think that people that install this HHO's are driving more responsibly, most likely a psychological side affect of believing that it works, so when they swear that they are saving money, they are because their driving habits have changed and they actually measure their savings to prove that it works, I myself have used a vacuum gauge to drive by to test the theory, I had a 50% fuel saving over the known distance but it can give you a headache with the extra awareness needed.
Geoffreyinoz 11 months ago
im not sure that a mass produced engine cant be made that support hydrogen, but its still science that electroysis takes more energy to take water apart than you can, even theoretically, get from hydrogen. if some wanna claim its cleaner depending on engine design or a clean stationary electric source for mass production of fuel, then thats a whole different story.but you are pissed off about is that people say electrolysis is exothermic, nope, combustion is the exothermic twin of the reactions.

CgKing2k 11 months ago
@CgKing2k Right that means that it is not the HHO that gives you free energy, it is the free energy that runs the HHO that gives you the free ride. And Desertphile is still correct! because we don't have access to enough free electricity to ever Run it efficiently.
O2streaming 11 months ago
HHO, Browns Gas, whatever you want to call it is not an energy source. It is a means to transport energy. There is no way to get water to magically re-arrange into HHO - you have to use electricity. All you did was turn the potential work of electricity into a gas which gets combusted to do work. It is a HUGE waste of energy to go through that many conversions since you loose energy on each conversion. But most of you are idiots and have 0 grasp of science / reality.

CaptainD983102 1 year ago
@CaptainD983102 ; No it does not "work for others." It's a scam: these devices lower fuel economy.
Desertphile 1 year ago
@CaptainD983102 Come on... It is a fact, that it takes more energy to 'crack" hydro, than it gives in economy. That is the whole point.... this is not speculation...this is fact. This one very important fact is the reason we don't have an engine that can run H efficiently. This problem holds the whole industry back. I have spoken with scientists on this issue and tried to argue for it. But the science is not there yet, and they claim it never will be efficient. So Desertphile is correct!

Yes this man is a Retard!! typical know it all that doesnt want to see new money saving technology... yes h2 electrolysis has issues but not to be counted out yet ... as long as oil is 2 miles in the ground this stuff has potential .
bentwheel1 1 year ago

You're pumping in more energy than you're getting out; you just don't realize it because you're not measuring it.
mjedelman 10 months ago
First the regulator is not to turn the field off. Then a permanent magnets alternator just for the the hho cells will do the job and will generate more power than a regular alternator. Why no use the hot air or the pressure from the muffler to move an alternator and generate electricity.

this guy is is a total retard ... i run one on my truck and DO get better running, lower emmisons, and more gas mileage ...bozo
whether you use 5 amps or 100 amps of power is the same " cost" moron ...so yeah it is free power ....

No, you do not. The devices waste gasoline.

If HHO raises the cumbustion efficiency with a smaller price of alternator load that would not violate any energy laws whatsoever.
1nektarios1 1 year ago
@1nektarios1 ; Yeah, uh, maybe so. But these oxyhydrogen don't do that, so the issue is moot. These devices waste gasoline.

yep water cars are a scam
zeroagenow 1 year ago
It is very possible to fuel a car by the two simpler components which make up water. It is already proven that a small amount of hydrogen can run a car, and so the combination of oxygen and hydrogen can run a car.
It sounds to me like you just got scammed by someone and are just bitter. The systems that use any electrolyte to produce the hydrogen are the fraudulent ones as none is needed with the right circuit.
Car alternators are very inefficient btw.
harryfodder 1 year ago
Hmm - good points. The one place.. *one place* that I could see the alternator giving energy back that would otherwise be "wasted" is if used as part of some sort of regenerative braking system for some hybrid car. If you are trying to come to a stop, may as well take some of that energy for use later.

What gov. is paying you? or who are u afraid of? Just to show your talking BS, my 1993 4x4 subaru which the manuel says gets 21 MPG,actually has gotten and average of 42 MPG since I installed a homemade hho unit along w/ a vaporizer,PCV line air compressor filter, and added a special fuel additive.I topped 62.1 by adding a small amount of steam on the highway, but w/out steam averaged 42 mpg for the last 2 years.....so stick that B.S.! im not one to post bad comments but this needs to be addressed to save our pioneers in this world. i dont know how anyone can put down someone for trying to bring a well known technology to light and apply it in a piratical sense. it is this liberal garbage that has set the technology back generations. if someone wants to create own thats there choice. also if ur going to refer to energy being wasted, u wasted more energy taping and posting this video, and peoples time.
darkmetalhacker 1 year ago
@darkmetalhacker ; ". i dont know how anyone can put down someone for trying to bring a well known technology to light and apply it in a piratical sense."
This video does none of that. It exposed the oxyhydrogen scam. The intent is to educate people so that they are not defrauded.

@darkmetalhacker
PalomarJack 1 year ago
An Alternator is a moderately efficient device. An internal combustion engine is not, particularily. Gasoline lacks octane and is not completely combusted. Take some electricity, create a small amount of highly explosive gas, improve your combustion of the gas, and you have created a small improvement of horsepower. Subtract from that gain your electrical cost in amps and left over is your gain. When done correctly. God your thick.
KyleCarrington 1 year ago
This has been flagged as spam show
When you use one device which is more efficient (alternator 60%) and create an additive fuel (hydrogen) which improves another very -inefficient- fuel's combustion, the math is not as simple as your unresearched point of view, which may explain why UBC Physics students, 4th yr., are doing a studies project (tinyurl dot com /2bg9c9o) on HHO - AND YOUR NOT. If the answer was as easy as your pea brain makes it out to be NO ONE WOULD BOTHER. Duh

you must only belave in what chose to read . your car's alternator after 1996 and up
start charging to 13.8 to14.2 volts put out 80+ amps thats a fact your car bat is only for starting only. the VR. just tell how many amps to charge it takes 1.5 to 8 hp. to
pull most alternators i dont use hho but have friends that do and thay run on a 20 amp fuse the same fuse like whats in the radio so please dont try to make a fact
out of what you dont understand. what did you make to help with gas??
jcb570 1 year ago
@pianoman0488 you assume that a car going down hill puts energy through the axle to the transmission then back to the engine well that would depend on things like is the car automatic of straight drive . why because a automatic has a torqec converter which slipps going down hill while engine is idle. plus other factors which make you idea unworkable . in a perfect world you get o percent loss of power but in reality frictions and thermal dynamics robb your idea sorry just stating fact!!!!
saint27573 1 year ago
@247news1 your the one uneducated because everything desertphile stated is true its called the laws of thermal dynamics ! you dont get something for nothing . in fact for every convergence of energy there is always a dynamic loss. but you grew up in the age of obama bullshit about green technology so its not your fault that your stupid . desrtphil may not look and talk well but his knowledge is unquestionable!!! thats why for over a hundered years we still using fossel fuels .
saint27573 1 year ago
Hey..He is just uneducated is all. OK ..Maybe there is something else he is missing.. Like brain cells.
247News1 1 year ago
apparently not everyone trying this is using the alternator to supply power to the fuel cell... i´ve heard rumours of stirling engines being driven by the engines cooling system and used to generate electricity from the vast amount of energy being wasted by the engine... if a 100 hp car is loosing 200hp of energy as heat, which it probably is, thats around 150kw of power that could be put to use... any thoughts?

Petrol engines are not 100% efficient, lets say 50%. If adding HHO to the 'mixture' increases the burning efficiency to 55% then you could save fuel. The cost is the electrical energy taken to create the HHO but you get most that back when you burn it.
I can't see how it can power a car alone but I can see how HHO could increase the burning efficiency of your usual fuel. The actual energy from the HHO is probably insignificant. I recon they take 120 watts to run and provide only 100watts.
RavenPrecept 1 year ago
@RavenPrecept the sad truth is that water in your mixture won´t make your engine more efficient (which are actually less than 50% efficient) what water does is to low your chamber´s temperature so you can inject more fuel and get some extra power of it (at the cost of that fuel with it´s efficiency loss) the guy in the video is right about everything. Electrolysis is an energy expensive process that adds one more link in the inefficiency chain.
Nefariusi 1 year ago
I've thought a lot about this HHO generator gasoline engine stuff. Suppose you install an HHO canister and associated piping/wires. And, suppose you think a bit further than an idling engine. What about a car, with a charged battery, going downhill, in gear? If the tires are connected to axles, connected to the transmission, connected to the engine - you can see easily that the kinetic energy released moving downhill can go directly into generating HHO in the canister...thoughts anyone?
Pianoman0488 1 year ago
Your facts are true about energy consumption to create the hydrogen from the alternator. Have you considered that the efficiency of the burning of gas increasing, do to hydrogens unique properties are a benefit? I think so. Of course, this works if the electronics and O2 sensors are painstakingly modified, or O2 not injected into engine at all. I have always wondered if solar power generated straight hydrogen in auxiliary refillable tanks my be the way a tinkerer should go.
ehanson50 1 year ago
@ehanson50 I think solar is the right way to go. People constantly bash hydrogen fuel cells and their relatives claiming that "it takes more energy to break the water molecule up than you get burning it". That's true...at room temperature. As the temperature of the water increases, the amount of energy it takes to break the molecules decreases. This goes for water under a burner as well as water heating up in an HHO canister under the hood of a car........
