@abbymick I don't see the name "most powerful diesel electric single engie " given to a class 60 or 59. Oh Wait! that name is given to the American AC6000cw diesel!
The thing I realised what I like the most about any sort of freight train (apart from the noise and size of the locos and the train itself) is that it's industry in motion. It only takes two locomotives to haul all that cargo and I can't imagine how many trucks (of which I also have an interest in) that is off the roads. Savage power.
Thanks for posting 1jackdk. You're in a good area to shoot in all these locations. I'd like to visit White Sulpur Springs one day just to view the Greenbrier from a distance deep in the mountains like that.
But you're totaly right, the Voith Maxima is in every point better. US.Locos are liks Dinosaurs - big, slow, loud and they looks more powerfull as they realy are.
US and European freight rail systems are completely different. Voith is a diesel hydraulic and the AC4400 is Diesel electric and north american freight is about tonnage!
Not like the European single wooden axle techno crap.
I've no idea what a European single wooden axle techno crap might be exactly, but most European railways use electric haulage for freight, so the argument is moot really, if that's the word I'm looking for.
Thanks, Glad you enjoyed the clip. This was the only time I had been here, but I see there is a lot of great scenery, and need to visit this area again. I will keep you in mind when I head down this way again. Take care, Jack
Great catch and video! I was here only once (well twice in two days) about two years ago and really liked it!
