I've heard you can fit a 460 in one without any big mods. a 302 will fit in there fine. A 351 will be good little tight but you can get by. A 429 you need to move some stuff. A 460 you need to move some stuff.

it can be done anything from a 262(v8) to a 400 sbc can be dropped in since they are all the same externally

uhmm. a 302 is shorter than a 351 dude. if im not mistaken the 302 has a 8.2 deck and the 351 has a 9.5 deck

Agreed. I love Rangers and I love 302's, but an S-10 with a 350 swap, would be a LOT cheaper to pull off! Compare costs of getting performance parts for a 302, to that of a 350, chev small blocks are the cheapest to get power out of!
