  • To each and every artist that sung on this song. THANK YOU!!!!!! This is the first time i heard this song and to see the video but it kicks ass. I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!. WOW, WOW. Truly amazing to honor one of the fallen angels in country music. He was a legend in his own right and to see that other artists pay tribute to him ROCKS!!!! He was taken away from us to soon, but he left us 2 gifts his music and his son Jesse. One HELL of job by all!!! He was my IDOL, HERO and a FRIEND. THANK U

  • When Country was good....

  • I've only recently discovered this true shooting star....Damn he was good.

  • Great Video, awesome job, the tribute is a great testimony to the influence Keith left in the hearts and lifes of all that loved him and his song.

  • i am a rap/r&b artist from kentucky and i would say Keith Whitley was and still is the man seriously

  • i heard ricky skaggs voice why wasnt he there he was closer with keith then al of them

  • Man I might be one of the biggest Keith Whitley fans out there, and love country in general. But I think I love all these 80's hairstyles more! Brings back lots of memories!

Thanks for posting this, and God Bless you Keith, Rest in Peace

  • i still mean what I said months ago beautiful touching song.

  • There's still real country out there. You just won't find it on country radio. Chris Knight is somebody you should check out.

  • took a listen. wouldnt brag to much sounds like pop country crap.

  • ther aint gonna be no more true blooded country talents like keith ever again. he was one of the last of a dying kind, i own all of his albums and tribute albums on tape and cd... this new stuff just aint real country anymore, this was real country.

  • I used to have the CD and lost it...still could sing this song like it was yesterday. Thanks for posting this video!

  • Keith was a rare talent. They don't make 'em like him anymore.

  • hard to believe he has beenn gone 20 years now. He is truely missed.

  • This song should only be sung by Larry Cordle! He helped write it and he absolutely NAILS IT! I would love to hear Larry Cordle sing it right now!

  • This song make and old girl cry every time they sang he's singing in a great angel band god bless you keith.

  • keith was the greatestsuch a shame it ended way to soon

  • a beautiful song with a good meaning

  • She's Deborah Allen.

  • They are the group Sawyer Brown. I recognize most except the lady singing with Earl Thomas Conley.

  • deborah allen of 'baby i lied' fame.

  • Who are those three guys in the first chorus section?

  • beautiful song

  • Thanks for the video hard to believe almost 20 years has past. Everytime I hear "Don't Close Your Eyes' my mind drifts back to another place another time and I wonder for Keith Whitley what might have been. Such a talented young man gone much too soon and remembered often.

  • Keith Whitley was THE best without a doubt...its truly ashame that something like alcohol ruined such an amazing human bieng. Think of how many other awsome songs he could have made! It just a sad shame, your missed greatly Kieth...RIP

  • Thank you for posting this. I was totally crazy about Keith. I don't think there will ever be anyone who can sing as well as he did. RIP Keith

  • I'm from Floyd County Ky and I can see so much of myself in this song. I too have a dream to play and sing like so many of my heros in Nashville, I just hope that the good Lord lets that happen for me. This is a great song with great meaning.

  • It is a wonderful video! Thank you for posting this.

  • The second voice is Ricky Skaggs.

  • hey who is the second artist on this vid? The one after Joe D

  • T. Graham Brown and Tanya Tucker

  • all i can say is WOW. This was incredible so many great artists and what a song. Thanks for posting!

  • So many talented country artists got together singing a wonderful song, paying tribute to one of their peers, the great Keith Whitley. His untimely passing on in 1989 was a tragedy and a huge loss to country music.

  • Thank you for posting this. It is just wonderful.

  • Although I have moved away from Eastern, KY I am proud that I was born and "raised in the hills". I was not blessed with a singing voice but have managed to hold on to my "southern accent" Always has been a good conversation starter. Keith, Loretta, Mont. Gentry, Ricky, Patty, Billy Ray, Chrystal and MANY MANY MORE great singers from the hills!

  • this song makes me cry

  • joe diffie,tanya tucker,t graham brown,sawyer brown,steve wariner,earl thomas connely, deborah allen,mark collie, john anderson,lisa stewart,daron norwood,the kentucky headhunters(i think),ricky skaggs,rhonda vincent.....not sure of the others

  • Tons of great singers took place in this memorial. It was a great group of people appreciating a one of a kind singer from Kentucky.

  • This is such a great song. Who are all the singers? I know most of them.

  • I remember the day Keith Whitley died in May of 1989, was living in Ft. Dodge IA and working part time for KWMT radio. I just started to enjoy some of the newer country that had come out around that time. Hard to believe its almost been 20 years since he passed.

  • if keith was still alive music would be different.he had so much to give to country...he is a legend...

  • I can't believe I've never seen this...thank you for sharing.

  • If Keith would've made it to the 90's I really think he could have gave Garth a run for the money. RIP Keith.

  • too bad you can't match the words with the lips

  • When was this video (I think I spell that right if not please forgive me for my lousy spelling). Anyway as I was trying to ask when was this recorder? If anyone knows the answer could you please be kind enough to post it please thank you.

  • Larry Cordle, the guy that wrote it, does it better. He plays it as a Bluegrass song and puts so much or feeling and soul into the lyrics.

  • I cant say anything but thank you sharin this video. I havent seen this since its original release back in 1994, and remember how great it was....a very special tribute to Keith
