I remember seeing clips of this about 15 years ago. Great to see if again. It's nice to see players smiling and enjoying themselves. Where has the humour gone in football?
Great players and a great era. Those guys were known for their skills - these days the players are known for the brainless blow-up dolls they date and marry.
This game was played on my 11th birtday and I got taken to this game as part of my birthday treat.I am 43 now and I am still as mad on Fulham as I was then.Mind you things have changed a bit these days down at The Cottage.
The incomparable Bobby Moore was also wearing a Fulham shirt back in them days. I didn't get to see this exact match, but I did see Fulham play in the league this season.
Because of the large amounts of money involved in football, players have to be very serious. I think the all round quality of football is better now, but watching games from 70's and 80's makes me think that the players loved playing for the club and fans and not to be there just to pick up a huge cheque every week
I wish games were like this these days, and players had the same character. The closest I've seen recently, was the Liverpool 3 Arsenal 6 game in the League Cup in early 2007.
George was only 29 here. He should've been playing like this at 43 or 44.
