dx9: not so good andialias and motion blur filters, just physics, realistic textures, bumpmap and specular enchancement.

just that dx11 requires a expensive nvidia video card (over $500 GTX series) to physics work correctly (PhysX).

dx9 dont require a high level graphics card, and its better with Nvidia 7x, and above series, with no so good physics and normal quality filters.

the lower the direct x is the faster game is (frames per second) best observed on call of duty 2 on options......... but what matters most is the speed of your CPU.... it should be 3Ghz or better..... mine is only 1.8Ghz so, im suffering poor performance on huge 3d games.....

A rally race, but all cars start at the same time like a circuit race? What the hell, is that a custom settings race? I hope Dirt 3 has something of the sort - I've not had such a race so far, yet I've only been running the campaign tours, and no single races.

guys have a look at the water tessallation vids done on utube. its unbelevable. also im playing shogun 2 total war with a 580 core i7 with everthing on ultra and there is a huge differencebetween the 2.to test it urself, if u av dragon age 2 at the start of the game when u talk to witch of the wilds u will c a huge diff. but u will need a good video card to do it justice

The main difference is the Dx9 has bigger dust particles. Very evident at the dust coming from the rear of the tires. On the 9 it looks like parallel pictures of dust coming out while the 11 it looks like actual particles.

one reason u dont see a large difference is the fact that dirt 2 uses very little of the features in dx11. thats y when people benchmark games they tend to use f1 2010 since it uses more of the features yet it still doesnt take advantage of everything. until they start adding all the features the main difference will be that dx11 is better optimized and u can get quite a significant performance boost from it. biggest thing in dirt 2 is the HDR and algorithim used to soften shadow edges
