@alexmathis1 Some don't realize that it is staged. If you watch the Steve Wilkos show, and you study it, then it seems really realistic, and it doesn't seem staged at all. They can't be making really sophisticated stories and bringing in real drug addicts for example.

If you want to see his shows, search steve wilkos, and under the search options, select long 20 minutes, and you can see his shows.

You might know Steve Wilkos as one of the security guys on jerry springer.

Its amazing a show like Jerry Springer still can continue now where it is that bad and very staged as it is today. Back in the days where the show started and it was a plain realistic talk show, that was good. Now its just about staged fighting and really nothing worth. Not to mention the paternity shows (Maury show)- why be worried about if some crazy clown is father or not?

@globe255 well I guess there are several aspects to it. From the father perspective, I can relate to their joy or sorrow in the result. From the man perspective, I can celebrate or gasp in horror at innocent women or evil HOs, respectively. And from the Simian primate perspective, watching the other monkeys perform their version of the turmoils of the human spirit is profoundly entertaining and emotionally exiting, just like with any of the other themes. Point 1 and 2 are most important though..

If you would please consider my third point, the primate perspective; it is in itself enough to entertain billions of people every day, indeed it is the very heart of all entertainment and art. The interest we take in the turmoils of the human spirit is evident in all popular litterature and TV programming. But I, as I said, claim relatively little such general interest, I am more into point 1 and 2.
