PC's still look like that.
I've got a Mac Mini which can be cluttered but the Built-In Airport Wireless Bluetooth, SD Card Reader are a life saver. I changed over to Aluminum Apple Wireless Keyboard and it really uncluttered thing. Next will be a Magic mouse to get rid of an ugly black logitech I'm using.

PC's still have the same mess. Even if u replace the keyboard & mouse for wireless ones, it's still a mess.

My PC today has less cables, but back in 1999 my old Compaq 7474 has as much as that, I even had the same modem as that, still use sometimes.
