25A WOULD be enough.. you dont seem to know what ur talking about. I have exact same motors using 25A and there not even close to hot. check hexacopter 4kg payload here on youtube and ull see. Im using same gears as him and so are you rctestflight ..except your using the overkill 60A esc.
Dude that video looks super solid and stable! I didn't see any wobbly - ness there. Awesome! Got to watch again to get your setup. I'd like to build one just like this.
@rctestflight I will be taking pictures of my house & Property I have high winds sometimes and the area to fly in is pretty small, I was thinking about mounting one to my wing but it cant really fly slow enough. I like the idea of a quadcopter for AP, but at least with a plane if anything goes bad you can still glide down..
Hey just a quick question about your KK board your using. I want to learn how to fly a quad kinda like you have here. With that board do you have to have additional Gyros? I didn't see any on it. Also would you recommend this to learn on? Ive been looking at Warthox boards but wanted to start cheap first. What all is needed to get going? Other than 4 motors, 4Esc, receiver, battery, transmitter. Also Ive never flown a Heli either. Did You learned to fly a Heli first or on this. Thanks.
@rctestflight If I build one here shortly, would you be willing to show me how to set it up and teach me a few tricks to get it up and going? I live just over the hill from you in Salt lake city. Thanks for the reply.
@Smiffew Technically it's alot better, it's the lens that is messing up quality.
It's Canon kit lens so it can't stop down to the aperture that works as well with video (lower f/stop is generally better for video, these only go to about f/3.6) It gives more definition and requires a lower iso, giving an all around cleaner picture.
The gopro and others also have image stabilization built in, whereas this lens doesn't. The apertures on the small cams are also close to f/0.1 (wide angle)
Good job on construction and flying this beast of a multicopter. It's cool but I just find these things overly complex, limited in use and UGLY. Even so, thanks for the vid. - R
I've seen much worse vibration than that on fpv video, yours actually looks pretty good to me. Maybe just improve the camera mount to reduce the vibration a bit more.
I wouldn't put my $700 camera on a plane! Awesome video anyway though, and I thought it didn't look shakey at all. Do you like you T2i? I'm thinking of getting one.
I thought the video looked great. Did you stabilize it? I appreciated the build information you provided by your shots. What would be a better card for this rig? What add-on cards would help it be more stable?

There's a guy on ebay in isreal that sells anti vibration camera mounts that would work really well with your setup.

@zowex my ESC's get warm when I'm carrying a load with a 4s. A 25A would get toasted

@Gezelem2002 the gyros are built in. You should start with a help, they are much harder to fly than you think

There is a Airplane firmware for the kk board, do you have any experience with that?
If so, how is it like?
If not, maybe a great idea for a review video.
It could be a cheap way to stabilize FPV video's.
Nice video!
