  • Thanks munkybarf!!

You helped me save $100 in labour. I bought a pair of replacements from Electric Factory(in Melb, AU)

I only replaced 1 and there is a subtle difference in the sound(new woofer V old woofer). A little run-in time and they should match again. I didnt feel it was crucial enough to replace both at the same time.

BTW, that is a sweet soundtrack:-)

  • thanks munky! this vid gave me the confidence to open up my own speaker. it was so easy! let's see how the new woofer sounds....

  • one of my M1 speakers has got a really crunchy / farty sound - it sounds awful now. Assume that this is a broken woofer?

  • hello. thanks for the vid. what glue did you use to reattach the rubber bezel?

  • do you have a link to where you can buy the replacement driver online?

  • is it really necessary to take the back off and amp out? is there enough slack on the + &- connections to do it all through the front?

  • whats the sample used in the song??? i love it!

  • mad track!! :)

  • So cool of you to post. I agree, it is ridiculously easy to open it up and put back together. I would like to change it to a SEAS or Scan-Speak driver. Did you try any other drivers before choosing the original?

  • hello, i need to replace 1 of my woofers, i've found this instrumentalparts (dot) com/alesis-m1-active-mkii-replacement-woofer-monitor-speake, but my question is if i can get a woofer from another manufacturer besides alesis. or the woofer must to be made by ALESIS?? thanks.

  • so, if i do can, please can you send me a link or something about where to buy a working woofer? thanks!

  • I notice how off center the grey magnet on the back of the woofer is...

..is that the result of some sort of factory calibration? or is it just shoddy workmanship?

  • hey dude can u please help me .... !!! i don't get how to plug my alesis to my computer i mean i dnt understand how to give input to them ...??

  • @fawdian Your pc will have a mini jack out and you just need to get a stereo mini jack to dual mono 1/4" cable.

  • @snolan1990

that works but its not ideal.

ideally you would need a outboard soundcard (usb for example) or a pci soundcard. The L > R outputs then go into each speaker respectively.

  • are those speakers any good?

  • @gangas159 yes thay are BUT! thay have a big manufacture problem....there is a capacitor too close to another component on the circuit board and as a result burns the capacitor out. when this happend the power l.e.d twinkles then no sound.....this is a big problem i have been thru it my self apart from that thay are great for the price.

  • nice... cheers for the info!
