I saw that episode too. Just another example of how Oprah's show can touch someone at some point and time. It would be great if Oprah could see your video and hear how her interview touched you in this way. Good for you Jamie. I'm a fan of yours, but sorry I missed your live 18th birthday. Hey! I totally agree about the I do instead of I did thing. That is right on the money. But I think people should really start learning about what is going on in our beautiful country wihtin the polygamous sects. It is truly sad. I can't even explain it all there is too much. But one of the most appalling things they teach is that if you leave the city you go to hell. Many of these girls said that they would rather have gone to hell then to stay there. It is truly shocking . Sorry if its long.

i was also home schooled [well most of my life-until this year really] and i disagree with long skirts, no make-up, and no jewelry.

right now i'm only fifteen, but i still want to be able to say "i do" and not "i did".

i'm lds a.k.a. mormon and i was very suprised when i found out that they left the church and did all that stuff and its kinda hard for me because kids at school make fun of my religion saying we do all that stuff when really we don't and its just those people

and I thank God that he was gracious and never kissed anyone, or even ever went on a real date until I met my soo-to-be husband (still haven't kissed). So for those who say it is impossible to wait and that you can't know who the right person is without dating. I say, you're WRONG, it was a LOT harder to know who the right person was was when I had a fixed image in my mind and was trying to find them.

Go Jamie!!! I am 24, I only ever had one boyfriend and it was the biggest mistake of my life... Not that having a boyfriend is a bad thing, but my point is, that I tried very hard to wait for the man God made for me, and now I am about to marry him. We've never kissed because we wanted to wait to share those things till we get married. I believe it is important for people to not "date", but get to know people and wait for the right person. Everytime I thought I had the right guy it wasn't.

I think the way the law treated those people was terrible. While I don't agree with a lot of the things that might happen in their community, I think it's important to take responsibility for removing those kids wrongly. That never would have happened to community of monogamous people, even if there was suspected abuse. Awesome and very important post.

i'm 27 and never dated... what's the point in giving your heart to person after person, causing yourself to think you are truely in love with this person, call them your boyfriend and then have given away a peice of your heart that never belonged. well there's more then that but hey!

Oprah is really into this new age stuff and has openly denied Jesus. :( Pretty sad I think. I do agree we can learn to understand other's point of view..or maybe not understand it but at least be aware of it. Tell your mom I love her! I think she has done an awesome job raising you girls to be like this. The other day I had a 13 year old post on one of my video's...cussing me out, saying he was sexually activity already...he is ruining his life! It was so sad..:( Great video!
