We are too deeply ingrained in the wrong practices and the wrong mentality when it comes to money, agriculture, the environment, sustainability, etc. The system must be razed to the ground in order to allow something more beneficial and sustainable to take its place.

I'm just out of a retreat where there was alot of talk about "I love you all" but thank G-d, I think you really mean it. On the good side, I learned about two books about a pre-industrial way of life that were really inspiring--Change We Must, by the recently deceased Nana Veary, and Tales from the Night Rainbow collected by Koko Willis & Pali Lee, and oral history as told by Kaili'ohe Kame'ekua who lived to be 115 and died in 1931. I think you'd really like these books.

Dave, you already know that this is my favorite movie of all time. I even have the soundtrack on CD.  Yes, the system has failed.
