Konfabulator didn't start the craze, desktop assistants did back in Mac OS 1. There just wasn't an expansion of them until Konfabulator.

I tried Yahoo widgets for a while, but these days I pretty much rely on Netvibes widgets. Remember the Milk has a nice Netvibes widget.

There's no reason why widgets need to be tied to a specific platform. I've embedded yourmini widgets within a Zoho wiki.

The reason I do not like the dashboard on mac osx is because I have to flip over to another screen to see them, I would enjoy them more if I could just stick them on my desktop, speaking of which, if anyone knows how to get the dashboard items onto the desktop please message me.

all u have to do is make sure u know youre hot key pull up dashboard and slowly drag a widget at the same time press youre hot key agin and the dash board will go away but youre widget will be on youre desktop:-) tell me if it works

i dont actually use any widgets/gadgets. all i have is rainlendar running on my desktop.
