  • Cool

  • are those stratocasters or squirestrats? i cant rlly see it. i hav a squirestrat :) rather have a stratocaster tho :(

  • @wesmellbad123 It's a Yamaha Legend, lol. May as well be a strat, though.

Personally, I'd go for an STM-1: Iceman with a trem ;).

  • you should make a tutorial video!!!

  • This is good, don't listen to the haters, I'd never be able to play this song >.>;

  • Best cover of Df ever made !

  • the only problem I really have with it, is it sounds like it's on the "blendy" solo tone the whole way through, so it makes it sound strange.

  • Or better yet, " why don't you do it?"

I would, but I don't like to show off for the jealous cockfest that watches other dudes play guitar to ridicule them cause they themselves don't have the balls to post their vids with their faces on it to prove their so called right and glory. Blast from the past, YOU GOT SERVED BITCH

  • I'd like to see any of you haters do the studio version of this in b flat with perfect articulation replicating all bends, dive bombs, harmonics, strokes, and intonation WITHOUT looking at the fretboard or looking up the tabs. Then you can talk shit, all I see you doing so far is trying to think of a smart ass reply to this comment I'm leaving because you have no life

  • awesome 5:28 5:37

  • awesome \m/ O_o \m/

  • dude its not bad but you need some more practice no bad feelings just tweek the solo a little ;)

  • Not to be a dick but honestly is the best quality

I agree with the 46 people... this is pretty bad... if someone did a cover of celine dion you'd expect them to learn it and reherse and have the talent to suceed at such an enormous task of making something so unique sound good, on par with the original!

    nice try, practice makes perfect!

P.S. if you think you playin the wrong note you are and you don't have an ear for music... notes don't change and a properly tuned ear doesn't forget!! ;)

  • 46 people have no sense of music.

  • @Barnix005

  • Your fucking bad ass!

  • Very nice. I like that you did mistakes and didn't edit them out. Also the dialogue between the twins was funny.

  • holy crap dude, you need to start a band or get popular on YouTube because you are amazing at the guitar!!! ROCK ON!!

  • hell why sweep pick.. the guy picks so damn fast sweeps are not neccesary 5/5!

  • not bad for learning by ear but would probably be better if you used tabs =D

  • Really liked it, you have skill. And as you said, im glad its not another Gh cover. Rock on \m/

  • i think you did very good. the sound isnt all that great but you DID play it right, maybe not some techniques but you did play most of it right. i see were you didnt "sweep" but it sounds the fuckin same whether if you sweep or wut ever you did. so good job dude, ill be watching your other videos

  • Die

  • @yosizawax If only I could...

  • @str1kerfswc live

  • when you do guitar sweeps your not supposed to just strum up and down really fast while sliding your left hand up and down the fretboard but good job tho

  • @moomooo1007 since you pretty-much copied KronikalAnoshmo's comment, my reply to urs will be to look for my reply to his.

  • wow

when you do guitar sweeps your not supposed to just strum up and down really fast while sliding your left hand up and down the fretboard

    nice starter guitar btw

  • @KronikalAnoshmo I know exactly what sweep picking entails, but it sounds like you know of a sweep picking bit where I'm not actually trying to sweep pick.

I learned this thing by ear, so chances are that I'm not even playing it exactly like the real deal.

So, where, exactly, do you reckon I'm getting the sweep picking wrong?

  • Same guitar look.

  • i saw sme really good skills on ths vid 5/5

  • Dude anyone who can do this shit is awesome. I recently ripped tendons in my hands and I can't play guitar properly ever again. So I think your videos awesome and I do recommend you always play cuz it's a kick in the nuts when you can't :/

  • @TheDenzil95 Awe, damn dude, that's gotta' suck.

No ability to play whatsoever? I couldn't imagine not being able to play. I'd learn to play left-handed if I had to.

Did you rip both hands, or just the fret hand?

  • @str1kerfswc Both hands, what happened is I was on my bike home and my wheel locked so I went flying onto a road and as I tried to back up a car just crushed my hands. I broke 2 fingers on my right hand and 3 on the left and I ripped all my tendons. It's impossible for me to play, I've tried and it really is just impossible. I can't play the right note fast enough or I really hurt my hand in the process. And yes it sucks ass.

  • how did you set the amp?(distortion, tone,Ect)

  • @2pacdragonforce Well, on the old amp, I just turned everything to 10. Easy enough :P.

On my new amp, the Spider III 30, I use the "Insane" preset, with Drive roughly 7-8, Bass on 5, Mid on 10 and Treble on 8-9. The Drive tends to add a lot of a bass for me, so I tend to tone it down.

  • he didn't get them wrong he jsut used different pedals guys...

  • Yeah, you're definitely not hitting everything quite right. Not that I can fault you for it. This song is brutally difficult, so I have to at least give you props for getting as close as you did.

  • Great job dude, very impressing! Keep going ;)

  • not bad at all 5/5

  • YOUR SHIT...nah only joking man nice vid 5/5

  • Amazing job man! 5/5

  • nice man, what kind of editing software did u use to put the vids next to eachother

  • Nice, keeping up with yourself there

  • that was really good, but get a new guitar, or at least a better amp with presets, like a Line 6, they sound amazing, get somthin like that and then put it up.. but stll did good

  • Wow! You rocks :D

  • Sounds nice! I recommend(sp? fuck it) that you use different distortion for each part if possible. just a suggestion Great job tho =)

  • This is good, But, i think strats are amazing for all music, as long as you get a good one, calling it less than perfect is kind of weird lol, I use a fender american custom strat, and love it, it does anything i want, The only other guitar i would buy would be a gibson custom Explorer.

  • I'm not using a Strat, just so you know.

  • @str1kerfswc looks just one with the lighting, what are you playing... It only has 2 pickups dosent it, Im an idiot sorry.

  • my sack hurts

  • mine does too, i have herpes. prolly from the whore who i kissed that gave so many blowjobs.

  • I used to have the same amp as you, kill it as soon as you can and get a better one.

The overdrive channel is so awful on it

  • Didn't have to kill it, it died on me finally.

Now I have a Line 6 Spider III 30. I really like it, and my god it makes my less-than-perfect guitar sound really nice, plus the inbuilt noise gate has fixed many problems for me.

Works better for regular metal like All That Remains rather than Dragonforce, but it's still awesome.

  • these guys are goods

  • Well tried matey, bloody impressed tht u learned that by ear! a true attempt and i respect tht! keep up the gd work and i am sure u will get it perfect soon enough!

  • You should make a video with 4 guitars, all of them being played by you and synced together into one video.

    That would be epic.

  • i couldnt agree more!

  • It's something to consider :P.

Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Bass Guitar (I'll just turn down the mid and treble knobs), Voice Guitar (to replace singing), Piano Guitar (replace the piano).

And of course a Drum Guitar!

Dunno' how I'd do that one. Maybe I'll just tap the guitar with my hands...

  • In all seriousness though, it sounds like a good idea.

Just wondering what song I should do.

  • Hell March - Frank Klepacki

    :D

  • I'll PM you the link, if yo uwant to do it.

  • what guitar is that fender stratocaster

  • In the description, Yamaha Legend.

Was second-hand as well, and when the high strings (Gibson Brite Wires) go past a month they start to produce two tones which gets annoying.

  • so fucking amazing...

  • wow o0 great

  • dude if u practice the tabs and did this twin thing again it would turn out fuckin bad ass

  • Maybe, but it's been a while since I've played it.

Plus I'm told that my guitar ain't so good for sweeping, so I don't think I'll get that down :P. Who knows.

  • lol in the beggining ,,"yeah what he said" XDD

  • people need to stop dissin this vid man, its like the best ever, its just a cover, so stop sayin the first bit is an acoustic. like chill out n just watch the skill

  • dude people are so fucking tone deaf if they think the intro is done by a keyboard! ITS DONE BY A FUCKING ACOUSTIC GUITAR!

  • the intro is done by a fucking keyboard, now Herman li play with an acoustical guitar, but back in 2006 this intro was played by a keyboard...

  • sounds more like a Nylon string or a mandolyn

  • awesome u rock

  • is the right part not originally been played by an acoustic guitar?

  • Not that I know of.

I've seen vids of live performances where they play the first keyboard bit on acoustic, but those are isolated cases I think, because the whole thing is electric, basically, aside from drums of course.

Even in the music video, its all electric instruments, no acoustic guitars as far as I'm aware.

  • When i saw them live they also played the first part on an acoustic guitar.

Anyhow, i like your cover :o How long did it took you?

  • Well, I basically started learning this song on the first day I started learning guitar, so about a year or so. I didn't have an amp then, so their wasn't much I could do, even with the computer software which did amp stuff for me.

It was around Christmas 07 when I got a real amp, and it was then I could start to use hammer-ons and tap a bit.

Playing Dragonforce songs now is a lot easier, but working out the notes is still pretty tough at times.

  • Ahh.. dragonforce are just really complicated and technical :p

I've been trying some on my drum kit one day.. it takes me so long to learn i gave up after the first minute of TTFAF :p

  • Well, for drums, you at least need a twin-kick.

    Otherwise its impossible :P.

  • I have that.

But that doesn't mean it's easy :p Dave plays some insane breaks at insane speeds all throughout the song.

  • Lol yeah, was just sayin' cuz I've heard of people trying with single kicks :P.

  • they two gay??

  • I bet you were really bored when you made all that text in the video ^^ Btw you could add 'Herman Li can't do it better!' to the text 'GET OVER IT.......' that would be awesome ^^ gj

  • Yup, kinda' bored :P.

Don't wanna' go calling myself better than Herman Li, though, since I wouldn't be here with thirty-seven and a half thousand views if he hadn't produced the song :P.

  • this gets me sooo excited to start playing guitar again :D awesome :)

  • I proper bum the affect the vids have tbh It looks mighty awesome to me!

By the way CBR 150R should defo come first then totally the babe of a guitar :P

  • you tried it... good one

  • Looks like you need to change your guitar pal.. ..Your great guitar skill must come with great guitar isn't it? Come on man, your awesome !!

  • Well, hopefully I'll be earning some money from my position as an assistant tennis coach, plus there's my plan to produce a deferred game rendering engine, then eventually a game.

But, the stuff will come in this order:

    1) CBR 150R (motorbike)

    2) Cyber-Twin SE

    3) Gibson Explorer or Ibanez E-Gen

    4) Ellsworth Epiphany (mountain bike)

I've played an Explorer before in a shop, it's so nice. The lack of a tremolo doesn't bother me much.

An E-Gen would be wicked to have though :P.

  • Buy the 3rd thing first !! Hehe,

  • Well, it's more than likely the CBR 150R will come from my parents anyway, plus a Cyber-Twin SE won't help with my e and B strings producing dual tones, so I'll move the Explorer and E-Gen to number 2 :P.

  • 2nd time i jizz myself...fuck.

  • LOL your play better than dragonforce live LOL seriously EPIC WIN my friend!

  • you're great :)

  • Man, I am very impressed...just an observation, the beginning that you made with the lead guitar is an intro made on keybord, BUT YOU DID IN A GUITAR, AWESOME dude. Keep up the good work.

  • finally i found an actual cover it was great and what do you mean you play everything like you play the lead and rhythm obviously do you play the keyboard and drums in it also or what im pretty sure i misunderstood it please explain oh yeah and why did you block out your face did you think people would hate on you or something

  • Alright, reading that made my head explode, so I'll try and answer as best as I can :P.

I play guitar only in this cover, but when it says "keyboard" it implies that the current bit I was playing in the beginning is actually played on the keyboard in the real song.

As for my face, I haven't actually blocked it out on purpose. My phone's exposure levels are quite low, so my room and my face, which are well-lit don't appear much.

I thought the effect was cool, so I went with it.

  • it was pretty cool but i didnt know if thats why you did it and i know i wasnt clear in my question but thanks for answering it

  • sounds awesome! Great song and great cover! How long it take to learn this?

  • Can't remember actually, maybe a couple of months, but I basically started learning after having only been playing guitar for about three months.

So, I kinda' learned the guitar by learning this song in the end.

  • that was a sick cover... u did it better than dragonforce... did u know they speed up this song to make it faster they sucked at doing it live

  • kick ass cover bro.

  • *bows down to you for doing what u did*

  • Lol, that made me laugh, thanks.

I'd have to ask you to stand up though, since I feel no man, no matter how great he is, warrants the bowing down of many.

Well some men do deserve it, but if they are any man worth respecting, then they too will ask those who do so to stand up XD.

  • Does it really matter if I use a squier with this song?

  • Absolutely not, you can use any guitar you want.

Herman Li and Sam Totman use an E-GEN and STM-1, respectively, and neither of them look like squiers, nor sound like squiers :P.

Plus, I'm not using a squier XD.

  • how do u put the two videos together?

  • I used Adobe Premiere Pro for it all.

Basically, I pull two videos into the timeline and move each so that they're side-by-side.

Sound and video are recorded seperately, so I sync up everything manually.

  • thanks for the coment,

we all have mistakes, too herman lee ^-^

but you coment , I will be better

  • Yeah, no problem dude.

We all have our mistakes XD.

  • love it very good keep it up

  • hey . good job, you can see my cover , i want you opinion

  • GOOD NICE TO HERE SOUND LOVE IT IT WAS AWESOME GREAT JOB

    CreepierNTW

  • At the "You tottally messed up dude.." you should have added 'Herman Li does that too live..' at the "GET OVER IT..." would have been even more fun ^^

"GET OVER IT... Herman Li does that too live.." or something like that

  • a good amp is the Line 6 Spider III

  • Yeah, I know a dude who just started playing and bought one of those.

He just started playing about a month ago and starts with that amp, plus an Epiphone SG.

    My god...

I'm aiming for the top though, I want my next amp to be the Cyber-Twin SE, and nothing less XD.

  • In itself its a great cover, but if I wanted to compare it to what is on the album you didnt bend enough. Some of it sounded like if it was being played by a robot. Thats just what I think tho. I've only been playing guitar for like 10 months so you know better than me.

  • Not sure about bending and whatnot, but I attribute the lack-of-likeness due to the fact that my amp has no reverb, let alone controllable reverb, and I have no pedals, no switches, nothing that could possibly aid in the changing of sounds during the song, and nothing that could make my sound more like theirs.

Can't put it straight down to equipment though.

My earlier days of playing involved little bending when working out how to play songs. I bend more now though.

  • I don't have much time to make another guitar cover, but if I do, it'll probably be Inside the Winter Storm.

From what I've learned so far, I sound quite similar to the actual song, but again, my equipment can only take me so far.

I'm probably gonna' see what I can do post-process though. Record the song, then mess with sound effects in Adobe Premiere and maybe we'll have something, who knows.

The challenge would be to use peddles and stuff whilst playing though, that'd be awesome.

  • pretty damn good

wish my skills were up to your level

how long have you been playing?

  • Started on the 31st of March '07, so when I did this vid about a year and a half, a little bit more than that.

Now I'm into my third year, not really doin' much. I'm learning Inside the Winter Storm now, which I like quite a lot since it's not the typical extremely fast Dragonforce, it's a bit slower but still has some hard solos.

  • It was awesome man =) But change your distorsion, this is sucks a little x)

Anyway this is a great cover 5*

  • I'd love to change my amp, but budget (of which there is none) doesn't allow me to change anything :P.

  • again ive been to see this at least 60 times now, its fucking epic!!!!!! even witht he fuck ups now and again. the song is by no means easy.

  • Comment removed

  • bad ass . . .u guys r pretty good

  • Lol, thanks. It's just one person though.

    I recorded myself twice ;).

  • Comment removed

  • rhythym and lead?! SICK PLAYING DUDE

  • doesn't sound exactly like the song, but still sounds damn fucking good :D well done!

  • holy sht dude that was SICK! but whats up with the guitar?

  • What do you mean "whats up with the guitar?"

Like it sounds weird or something?

  • your a beast!

  • O_O... wow... that was epic. You got some skill

    5/5

  • USa backing track para q no se escuche la verdadera guitarra de fondo :S

  • great dude

  • this was posted on my birthday:)

  • Happy birthday then :P.

It was posted two days before mine ;).

  • you uploaded this dragonforce vid the same time i uploaded one like this and 5 months later you have 33,000 views and I dont even have 2,000, what gives? :(

  • Don't ask me.

Only differences were that you pulled it off better, you had a lot of motion blur, you only played the solo, you didn't play chords when it was the other guitar's solo section, and I have other covers of songs which could potentially lead to this one through the "Related Videos" panel.

    I guess it's just a bit of chance :P.

  • O.O omfg i subscribed

  • send your e-mail to me and maybe I can help you out with sume tactics...

  • your crap definatly need a different tab sheet cos that one sucks it sound like.... crap haha try agen and do it properly

  • Sry my bad I've changed the words :$

whitch guitar you are usin' ? is it a stratocoaster ? Couse if it is a strat you should by the number 7 sized string and set the center of the srtings to the 12.fret than it will be much more easier to play fast scales in the music, I'm playing since 20 years sry. But in the music school where I was larning how to play they teached us in that way. So I hope I helped you. and I didin't hurt you (didn't wanted)

  • This guitar's a Yamaha Legend, and I don't know too much about string sizes and whatnot. I know more about amps, tone controls, pick-ups and tremelo systems.

Ideally I'd like a guitar similar to the E-Gen, since the lower horn was carved out more to accommodate the player's hand better, plus it twenty-four frets, four of which are scalloped.

Right now, with this guitar, especially with a sweep in the first solo, my hand jams up against where the lower-horn joins the neck.

    Sucks.

  • It doesnt matter where you messed up because in all reality you are better than herman li because you can actually play it in real life

  • how the fuck are u fucking retarded ! no doubt hes badass but ur saying that hes better than the guy who fucking mad his solo like really and he messed up herman doesnt mess up he peforms this in concerts like dude kill urself he may be bad ass but hes not better than herman

  • Herman Li can play it douche bag. It just doesn't sound too good.

  • after the Intro, that fast skale (sry 4 bad english)

  • Ah, well that's not a riff.

A riff would be a series of notes constantly repeated, like in a verse.

I can't hit scales fast enough with this guitar, my fingers are always being limited by the lower horn and the general design.

    I hate this guitar badly...

  • buy a new guitar???:P

    You play very well :D

  • cool and wierd

  • odon you couldnt do any better

  • LAME THE FIRST RIFF WAS MISSING -,-'

  • TOO BAD!

  • Which riff?

  • nice...!

  • You are amazing man!

  • ehh u rock :)

  • OWN3D. PERFECT !! GRATZ \,,/

  • hey ur really good dude !@%$# likereally good u should be in a bamd if ur not yet? thatd be sick :] and guitars the best instrument alive 5/5

  • I've got a lot of respect for you dude, i read that you learnt it by ear. That's f*cking nice dude.

  • You are the best guitarist I have ever seen hands down. Not because of skill, which you have TONS of, but because you spent the time and effort working on this entire song without giving up. That is inspiration. I have only actually saw through learning 2 songs to the end and you have extremely high potential. If you're really serious about this ask your parents to move to a country that will let you explore your talent more with a band or something. But I'm telling you, YOU ARE AMAZING!

  • very very niceeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

  • you're the best!

only can play it on Guitar hero XD

    but you have true skill

    of course i'll subscribe

  • Lol, no way I'm the best, but if I am to some people, then I'm happy :P, thanks :D.

  • yea , cuz, i have a guitar ,too, but still can't play one song XD and if i see you, then i'm thinking.. holyshit is how did he learn that?,

    so keep on :3

  • this is great dude.

i laugh at people who think that only 1 guitar plays the whole TtFaF when you play GH your playing 3 instruments

  • nice video man, and also nice cover

  • Good shit, woulda been better if you got ahold of a diff guitar tho

  • Thanks, care to donate :P?

  • Dude that was awesome
