  • Ive got one :)

  • Will i be able to call someone without using the internet. (Isn't It A Phone?) plz i need an answer

  • No, it's not a phone. The only way to call someone is over the internet using programs such as Skype.

  • theoretically yes, but it is going to require some hacking, alright since the 810 requires wifi to use skype to call anyone, land or mobile for just 35ish a year, what you need to do is get the boost mobile prepaid pay as you go plan, this will require you to top up every 90dys but only 20 bucks, it says 35Cents to use web perday, but don't worry,i came across a site which lets you hack into their iden technology via bluetooth thus giving you free wifi everywhere you go,more info ? just e-mail me

  • Do You Think i should choose this instead of n900?Cause if i can call for free...such as with a normal phone i won't have to spent 600$ for the n900

  • it's a little complicated...could you upload a VIDEO with you calling for free? i'm beggin'...

  • i'll send you a message to links i saw and read.

  • well you would still spend roughly 400 on the 810.

  • retarded question for everyone.

is the directional pad used like a mouse? can you use it to scroll up/down on websites?

  • Pq nao colocam um telefone nesse porra?

  • is this a phone?

  • Jjajaja

    Si!!!

  • No, it isn't. Just wifi.

  • no its a computer tablet

  • lol at the smug look he's got...priceless

  • can u connect to the internet with this via gprs or do u HAVB to be in a wifi area??

    PLEASE REPLY

  • It's not a phone and it doesn't have a 3g modem. You still can connect it to the internet by using a phone with bluetooth or wifi.

  • It's not the same, where can you find WiFi signal in the middle of the city?

  • nice, but i prefer the OQO

  • can you get msn for it?

  • I want one so badly but I am really trying to save since I am getting older and need to understand the value of money. The damn thing is so gorgeous that it's tempting to buy lol

  • like pc

  • Toop bad its not a phone!!

  • It is a phone. It uses VOiP. You can even make video calls where you see the other person. That's why there is a camera at the front of the phone

  • You can't use a 3G network. You need WiFi for those phone calls

  • That's what I meant. =)

  • the new WIMAX edition can use the wimax network. WIMAX network (Xohm) is currently available in baltimore, chicago and DC and expanding into other states. It can be used on the go now.

  • Ok, what's the name of the new model?

  • N810 wimax edition

  • No longer in production. You can still make internet calls on this edition.

  • That because he is in a Nokia add, not in a BMW add.

  • i have this device, if somebody is interested, i'm available to give to he, because the wifi is problem in my city, not exist

  • how much

  • free

  • ill take it

  • elo are you from where?

  • Hello, I don´t know if buying this device, or the mylo2, the only thing that stops me from getting thisone, is the fact that it doesn´t have neither yahoo messenger nor msn messenger, I was wondering if you can log in to either one from meebo dot com

  • Does this do internet streaming radio, of the likes of ShoutCast or VirtualRadio?

I hope a future firmware upgrade allows Nokia Internet Radio, atleast!

    Thanks!

  • You can install pidgin, which supports both ym and msm.

  • Why on earth would a guy who spent that much on a phone and is also wearing a blazer be walking instead of driving a fancy car?

  • how much is this device ?

  • like $475

  • no, i no tht nokia is a phone company, but look the n810 up. its basically a mini laptop. its only phone like because of the skype.

  • Nice unit with a killer browser, ie. Mozilla. Im going to wait for the next model release Should be great. This one is a tad buggy.

  • it's not a phone

  • No, it's not a phone. It's more like a PDA.

  • If i have at&t can i make phone calls with at&t or do i have to go through the internet to make calls?

  • this phone makes the iphone look like the playstation 3 vs atari ! , wow nokia excelent phone !

  • *drools*

this owns my old N95, and even is much better than my E90!! =o

  • if only the damned keys won't so small - just like HTC, only a 7 year old kid (or younger) has the finger size needed for these phones.

And who likes an international phone where one has to click 2-3 keys in order to get just one international letter?

Nokia 9500 has the perfect keyboard. A shame they ruined all that with the Nokia E90 and it's stupid hinges...

  • Maybe it is small, but I'd still prefer small physical keys over small software keys like the iphone - I've tried it twice, and I'm very technical and a mac guy, I just have hands that can palm a basketball without a problem and it's not great for touch screens.

  • awesome.. i want one!!

  • Nokia is coming out with a new internet tablet that has wimax on it. It hasn't even been six months since the n810 has came out and we've been waiting for this for a long time. DON'T YOU GUYS WITH THE N810 FEEL LIKE WE GOT KICKED IN THE FACE. there's no usb hosting on the n810, how are suppose to ad an external wimax device. and we payed almost 500 bucks for it. we should have waited for the new N.. who knows and the prices would have dropped like the n800. we got raped. shame on nokia.

  • Wimax was already announced by Nokia last summer.

  • yes this device is awesome it really is, i had it for a week, but wimax is like wifi but it can be connected to a device from miles away wimax is going to replace wifi which is like 700 ft+ and maybe if i wait for the next tablet to come out it will have a better cpu speed and more hard drive space, because the thing is pretty slow, that's why online videos are sluggish and sometimes really bad, good flash 9 support bad hardware speed, and this device gets slower with more use. SO WAIT.

  • Nice review, I was wondering about the processor speed.

  • lmao. "we got raped." Lol. I want one for my birthday, and im working double shift for 2 months. So when i get mine, i think it will be well worth it. Besides, i hardly ever use WiMax(knowingly). Hell. I dont even think i know what it is!!

  • ps. but everything else awesome, oh yea learn the linux lingo or you'll be online for hours trying to run apps, and figure out other stuff, you'll see im right soon enough

  • lo prendo

  • un nuevo jueguete que revolucionará a sus competidores. Bien por Finlandia.

  • Definitely a nice little gadget! I wish it was about $100 cheaper though. I like that it does GPS in the same unit. It's like having a GPS unit with a slew of other functions. Even if the GPS isn't tops like a Tom Tom or Garmin, it's still a GPS and look at all the other things you can do with the N810.

  • The built-in GPS hardware is good, but the free mapping software is disappointingly limited and not useful. Users who want voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation will have to pay more for the full version of WayFinder - Why pay $130/36 months? A $100 GPS will provide voice-guided turn-by-turn navigation. Potential N810 buyers are probably better off waiting and n810 without real GPS doesn't justify the $479 price tag. The GPS was supposed to be the killer application of n810. Disappointing!

  • Forumer has a contest and giving out a N810. You can read about in the fHQ (support forum) under 4th birthday contest.

  • This thing rocks!

  • slimol... wstyd mi ze jestem polakiem jak czytam takich burakow jak ty. kompromitujesz ten kraj czlowieku.

  • Please can you show a video of youtube playing in fullscreen on that device no one ever clicks on the full screen option on the youtube videos please

  • co za ciota na ekranie..?! wstyd przy tej Nokii.. :P

  • why does it seem to be lagging?

  • "why does it seem to be lagging?"

It's not lagging, your computer just sucks at playing video! Upgrade that 386 bitch! LOL

  • -wow- that is rude.

I'm using a powerful enough cpu for the playback, no problems at that part. What i meant was the window refreshes are sluggish from what i see.

  • d/w, its just a screen refrest rate on the "N810" isn't super supior like the rest of it, but easy has the refresh rate to play video & what not =]

...its the one thing that my E90 has better than the N810 ^^

  • what do u mean by refresh rate, are you saying the reason video is sluggish on the n810 is not because of the cpu speed but because of the refresh rate?

  • Got my hands on one at the UK pre-launch last week. Case looks even sleeker close up.

Even met the man in this video! Well, I just HAD to pre-order after that, he was such a nice bloke! :)

Their Internet Tablets are coming along very nicely indeed! You can tell Nokia have really been putting a lot of time into their development and DO listen to customer feedback.

  • GNU/Linux rules. :)

  • waoooooooo this is awesome!!!

  • Damn they're soooo late. I have the same form factor and the same functionality on my K-JAM!

  • realy good, buta, too big though, not practical, neighter is the iphone.

  • too big? that thing fits perfectly in your pocket.

  • Hello um its not a cellphone

    jus an internet tablet

    rather kool a must ssay

    want one 4 ma birthday

    :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

  • is this a cell phone????

  • I want one of these...this is so cool!

  • screen rendering is still much to slow for me... if you ever have tried an iphone you're not willing to wait for this tablets reaction each time you perform an action on the screen..

  • If you have tried an iPhone, you'll notice that it has no GPS, Flash or Skype support so you can't actually do most of the things this video shows.

  • The nice thing about the N810 is your not only tied to using Skype or Google Talk for internet "phone calling". In fact you can use any sip provider that you have an account with. This means that you can in fact make phone calls via the wi-fi connection to others on the "wired" phone or cell network provided your sip account allows it. This is clearly stated in the n800, n810 user manual.

  • it runs linux os

    wi-fi

  • Great video

  • hotttt

  • shweeeeeet.

  • How's video support?

I think it should have HSDPA and/or WiMax built-in.

  • NO WIMAX, and that is GOOD!

  • You can use HSDPA through a bluetooth phone.

  • Nice vid !

The best part is the way it shows how much finnish men talk ;)

  • Me thinks "MultimediaNokia" is Nokia's new N series YouTube account. Look at the clues... ;)

P.S. Strongly recommend TabletBlog by ThoughtFix (Google it!)

  • Superb!!! Thanks!! :)

Proud N800 user currently reading up on the N810's new features. Sometimes though a little video can truly go a long way! e.g. Excellent marketing vis-a-vis in-built GPS. The portion with the lost pedestrian really made it "click". Who knows, this just might even tempt those looking for a hand-held GPS to "upgrade" to a tablet. Not all that much more than a stand-alone GPS receiver when you think about it, especially when you factor in all the extra functionality!

  • oh no im having second thoughts about that stylus

  • 2nd !!!!!

  • FIRST!
