is there a software update of late that adds an onscreen kboard? the phones been out for a while now so things like lack of apps, performance lag and perhaps the lack of onscreen keyboard shoulda been fixed by now right? this could be my next phone, though imo it may just be a step backwards from the n900 im typing this on now.

well its not so much about making it look like another phone. The only reason i have to use pro switcher is because Apple is bitch for not putting a basic features like multitasking on the iphone natively. hopefully they will take care of it in os 4.0. pro switcher along with backgrounder allows you to multitask and use multiple apps at the same time by keeping them running in the background.

read the bad reviews about it too. I honestly think WebOS is amazing but you should wait until the next webOS device. The Pre isnt read yet and after it's been out for a few months already it's probably not a smart decision to buy this particular phone.

The palm pre design reminds me of a stubby, fat chick while the iphone reminds me of a slim supermodel. Also, I don't think the touch screen works as well as the iphone's. I saw alot of lag while she was trying to move stuff on the screen around...something I've never had a problem with on the iphone.

The palm pre actually has very similar specs to the iphone 3gs. In my personal opinion it is faster than the 3gs because it allows its users to multitask. Both phones are great though

I've had an iPhone for a year now and I love it. However, I really, really miss multi-tasking. I can't wait for the Pre for launch in the UK. Granted the Pre is not perfect, but for a 1.0 its a great start. Much better than the original iPhone.

Still, if you're a Pre fan, or an iPhone - one thing you will agree on is competition like this is only better for us, the consumer!

Also, I didn't really like this review.

not impressed...really not impressed. I am an iPhone user, nothing about the pre excites me. its got a sleek interface, but nothing out of the ordinary. a physical keyboard is good, but then again like most spring phone, they keyboard is squished.

Also they keep referring to the designer for the pre used to work with apple on the iPod....so no creativity!!

I;m really impressed by this phone, and I'm a big iPhone user. I do wish it had a bit more storage and a screen equal or larger than the iPhone, that's really the only reason I'm not getting a Pre. But hey, they'll make improvements, a slightly bigger screen, more GBs and I will pick up the Pre 2 in a second.

The resolution is exactly the same as the iPhones its just that the screen is smaller. The pixels are just a bit more compact.

one thing they don't mention in any of these reviews is that the iphone's battery is comparable and you can't even take it out. With the Pre, you can buy a spare battery and just swap it in if you want your phone to last a little bit longer
