Oh lord PLEASE! Event if the chance is uber-low PLEASE PREVENT A MELTDOWN!!!(The chance of a meltdown at Chernobyl was deemed to be "1 in 12,000 aprox. PER YEAR!) Even though Chernobyl was THAT low (This plant is prob 1 in 1,000,000; Just a guess) it still happened, SO PLEASE PREVENT ONE!!!!!!

Just sayin', but this is what TEPCO said:
Air pressure inside the reactor at the Fukushima No 1. plant rose suddenly when the air flow gauge was accidentally turned off, operator TEPCO said early Tuesday (local time).
That blocked the flow of cooling water into the reactor, leading to full exposure of the rods about 11pm on Monday, it said.
I believe the quote uses the words: "full exposure"

The Ap needs nuclear experts to describe the situation because the level of in accuracy is incredible. They cant even get "control rods" and fuel cells right. Hydrogen explosions are a danger is the water is superheated and any spark is in the concrete building would cause the hydrogen gas to become an explosive.

@AzerChristians You do realize America has over 100 nuclear power plants & America knows what radioactive material can do. It is actually cleaner to use nuclear power. The only big con of nuclear power is explosion/meltdown. Also, Japan is lucky that that nuclear power plant is by the shore because they have to pump sea water into the reactor to try and keep it from overheating and go into meltdown mode since their backup generators did not work. The earthquake cased the leakage not the tsunami

@truthcrackers There is not enough fire trucks, to fill the amount needed for one holding tank But a fire truck could be MADE into a mobile Generator to power the Pumps to cycle the water but that take hours to do Someone there Is trying to do the fastest way to do things in the plant
That is not always the Best way... A meltdown can kill Every thing in a 10 mile area for yrs I am not there I do not have all the details and a Masters Degree in Nuclear power so

"Fuel rods exposed" Way to choose the single most misleading statement to be used out-of-context for the headline.
All of the containment vessels are intact. The fuel rods were partly 'exposed' out of the cooling water inside the vessel. How about we don't go spreading unnecessary panic, AP?

The title is 100% correct. The fuel rods WERE exposed. You can sugarcoat it with weasel words If that calms your fears. But not all of us believe in lying to people "for their own good". No one yet knows the full extent of the radiation release, and the worst could be yet to come. If the nuclear plants were in my backyard, I would want to know whats going on so I can make appropriate decisions.
