@thebigmalkowski You are quite correct. And Wagner lived many years before Hitler was ever thought of. I'm not a fan of Hitler, but I love the awesome music of Wagner. One thing has nothing to do with the other. Hitler may have been a mad man, but he had good taste in music.
@thebigmalkowski that's not the point. The music is bombastic, simplistic triumphalism which is why the Nasis liked it. There is no development like a piece by Beethoven and it is similar to military music without the drums. So if you can imagine drums playing along you have got music that is used in the military or was used to lift the spirits of the troops. It's not creative genius that made this but lack of creativity eventually leads to war.
@lemdixon01 Not sure what your argument was, but to categorise Wagner as "simplistic" is pretty comical. Its your opinion and you're entitled to it, but have you listened to Entrance of the Gods into Valhalla, or Dawn and Siegfried's Rhine Journey, or Forest Murmurs? The very anti-thesis of simplistic. Wagner is one of the most creative musical geniuses ever i believe. Of course, we have some politically motivated anti-German bigots who hate Wagner. They simply don't count ;-)
@titusbeertsen My point was an analogy. Water is the message; the source was Wagner. The black death was spread through the cleanest, best tasting water in London.
@Tarclasp I recognised your analogy, only I still don't see the point: Are you suggesting that by listening to Wagner one could become an antisemitist? (using your pest spread through water analogy)
@Tarclasp It is, only I highly doubt that one could become a Hitler sympathizer just by listening to this music. Thanks for responding to my replies in a respectful way by the way, good to know that one can still have a discussion on youtube without immediately swearing or insulting each other :)
@Tarclasp You know what I apologize for the insults. It just aggravates me how people jump all over wagner because he said he had a problem with jews. He never said lets go kill them all or whatever. Blacks quick to pull the race-card, the jew card means you've lost your job, it's all ridiculous. This needs to end. Settling a thousand year old (and more) debt with the creation of the state of Israel haha. Man the world really is messed up. At least Wagner (a Jew, so what) here can ease us through it.

@rohanthomasmann Yes, that´s true. But he did not kill or mistreat any jew. So being a FREE human being he chose disliking the jew people... is it an obligation to like them?
killerwaz88: "I think the jews should stop complaining about Wagner."
Lots of Jews look past Wagner's anti-semitism and appreciate his music on its own merit. Leonard Bernstein (Jewish) was one of the best conductor's of Wagner's works.
@autumntree2011 this isn't a personal blog wrapped around your own tiny intellect and overrated ego. Believe me NOBODY CARES about your film. Nobody (who matters) cares if Hitler liked good music. Thank you for posting this wonderful piece of music
Wagner is so much more than Hitlers brain could ever imagine.
Wagner just put the Germans mind into music, and those 2.700 years of Germanic history have notihing to do with that little monster from Austria, called Adolf.
@Lintflas No, you are wrong. Hitler (♥God Bless♥) is the result of that ~3k years of German history. You see.. history has always hated the greedy backstabbing gold-grabbing jews. Hitler did what Wagner could only dream about.
@buckhead62 Yeah he was according to his beliefs, ideals, and certain connections and bonds he had. Now, now let's not your arrogance try to sway fact into fiction
@sasuke9121 My arrogance? Hitler may have liked his music but if anything Hitler extracted some of his ideas from Wagner, not the other way around. Wagner may have been "Anti-semitic" but that does not mean he was a Nazi or supported Nazism publicly.
@sasuke9121 Wagner died before Hitler was even born. Likewise the Nazi party was not founded until many years after Wagner's death so it is impossible for him to have supported Nazism.
@buckhead62 Forgive what my ignorant roommate said. He must have got on my computer when I left the room. You don't have to believe me, but I don't really give a shit about any of this Hitler nazi bullshit.
Was du mir vorwirfst, ist allein deine Interpretation.

@EinsatzK88 MOST STUPID COMMENT EVER! Classical Music is apolitical! (I am no leftist, nor am I liberal. I just wanted to say. Wagner has nothing to do with this. Hitler liked Wagner yes, but this doesn't make it political.
@pocketdynamo87 What is never mentioned with Wagners anti semitic views is that EVERYONE ( in the world ) was anti- semitic at that time. It was commen to make a laugh out of the jews. Even Friedrich Nietzsche, who wasnt at all anti-semite said ''the best race to mix in one european race would be the jews'' but he also wrote to a frend in one of his letters that an increase of jews would be bad for Germany.

killerwaz88: "I think the jews should stop complaining about Wagner."
Lots of Jews look past Wagner's anti-semitism and appreciate his music on its own merit. Leonard Bernstein (Jewish) was one of the best conductor's of Wagner's works.

Some people want white females to mix with non-white males.
I made a one-minute video highlighting a very tiny sample of race-mixing advertisements.
I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.
If you click on my name “autumntree2011” highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.
(I'm not a fan of Hitler or KKK.)

Hitler did what Wagner could only dream about.

sasuke9121 4 months ago
@sasuke9121 My arrogance? Hitler may have liked his music but if anything Hitler extracted some of his ideas from Wagner, not the other way around. Wagner may have been "Anti-semitic" but that does not mean he was a Nazi or supported Nazism publicly.
buckhead62 4 months ago

buckhead62 4 months ago
@sasuke9121 Wagner died before Hitler was even born. Likewise the Nazi party was not founded until many years after Wagner's death so it is impossible for him to have supported Nazism.

@buckhead62 Forgive what my ignorant roommate said. He must have got on my computer when I left the room. You don't have to believe me, but I don't really give a shit about any of this Hitler nazi bullshit.

Was du mir vorwirfst, ist allein deine Interpretation.
pocketdynamo87 4 months ago

@pocketdynamo87 What is never mentioned with Wagners anti semitic views is that EVERYONE ( in the world ) was anti- semitic at that time. It was commen to make a laugh out of the jews. Even Friedrich Nietzsche, who wasnt at all anti-semite said ''the best race to mix in one european race would be the jews'' but he also wrote to a frend in one of his letters that an increase of jews would be bad for Germany.
