Hi Chirs love your video! I'm buying a pod hd500 today, and was wondering if you had any tips on using it for home/live use? As I plan on using it with a transparent power amp or a PA speaker, Thanks! Alex,
@guitarguru6693 the only tip i can give you if your playing it live through a power amp and cab is make sure you assign an parametric eq at the end of your chain on every patch as it will be easier to tune your overall sound so it suits your cab. for example i find celestion v30,s way too bright so i need an eq at the end of the chain to tame the top frequencies. though oddly enough those really cheap Marshall 4x12 cabs that only cost about £100 work really well with moddlers.
@mrchrisbeaver Or would you say it's suitable for live use? As i've heard it can be very good through a transparent speaker and the many amp sims would be useful, however i've also heard if its not EQ'd right or setup exactly right it sounds terrible, i'd mostly be using the high-gain models, bogner, mesa and fireball mostly for live anyway.
@guitarguru6693 if your using a power amp and cab then yes its more than usable live.its not as good as a real tube head for raw tone but its very capable of good tones that work live. bear in mind if your gonna plug it into the guitar input of an amp it can sound really bad. of course you could allways run it foh direct to the pa with cab sims on
If I wasn't 5000 miles away I would be there matey...happy new year...keep in touch...NIC
