  • It's got that groove that Stella was looking for.

  • who is the guy playing keys and singing at 2:55?

  • I would have killed to have been there.

  • DIDN'T know Seth Rogan had a band.

  • loveeeeeeeeee this song

  • I can't fathom how anyone could dislike this song. It just does not make sense to me.

  • Who ever disliked this was on the wrong side of town!

  • I wonder if you believe in the Gayngs covering these classic '80s MOR tunes:

"You're the Inspiration" by Chicago (1984)

"Say You, Say Me" by Lionel Richie (1985)

"There'll Be Sad Songs (To Make You Cry)" by Billy Ocean (1986)

  • Khaki jeans. Fuckin' love it.

  • Thank you Isaac Gale. Cheers

  • As if it could get any better.

  • fucked my brains out

  • Hahaha, the multitude of hipster glasses in the crowd..

  • The non-whitest white band ever.

  • what are they doing at 6:25?

  • @professorbananas

Thats like the symbol for the band i think, a fun little inside thing.

  • What a collection of truly amazing artists on one stage!

  • This song was thought by Lebowski and written by Gayngs.

  • @ghostwaverider that's an entirely different genre you idiot..

  • A sea of hipsters at 2:00

  • I can't stop watching this....

    These guys, fucking unbelievable. WOAH

  • I was sent here by Ian.

  • legit

  • Eargasm

  • does anyone know who the main keyboardist/vocalist in the shades is?

  • @nickwilkinsonsenior zack coulter from solid gold i think

  • WOW yay Justin..just makes me want u more;)

  • 1:38 are you happy

  • There's so much hipster happening in this video.

  • I can't stop listening to this... and I have no idea why.

  • gaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyngs

  • The whitest non-white band ever.

  • Justin vernon and the instrumental are dope... this is nowhere near as good as Bon Iver.. Vernon is the reason 80% of people look at them anyways.

  • whats with the fingers at 6:24 en on wards?

  • this turns my heartbeat into the rhythm of my soul

  • can anyone recommend me some music like this song??? I don't want to say Gayngs as a whole because I don't particularly like teh album that much but I do love this song. I think the whole synth and tripiness of it all was kind of a bad move but i mean I'm sure a lot of people love it. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate the entire album...( I like a few songs including this one, crystal rope, no sweat)

  • this is the only band that live even sounds better than the album !

  • @emceezvn Um, no.

  • SIMPLY:':COPY;`;&'`.PASTE`,,

    SIMPLY;``COPY:.,&;,:PASTE``,

  • the sign of a true hipster: my friend who showed me this band says, "they're almost TOO hipster for me."

    a great song though

  • you gotta slap like you've never slapped before.. sexy

  • All I can say is Amazing stuff here and this groups is my new favorite discovery.... Cant wait to see them live....

  • two keyboard players WHOA

  • @ghostwaverider you're an angry little troll aren't ya?

  • @ghostwaverider

I feel sorry for people like you who complain about artists and seem to be so uptight and caught up in the 'past'. People like you who feel that a band/artist shouldn't be put into a particular genre, traditionally, just because they aern't apart of the history or didn't define the genre many years ago. Wake up! Just because they aern't Marvin Gaye or Aretha, doesn't mean they aern't 'soulful'. Change is inevitable, everything changes, including music. This is the present.

  • @6fifty8 Yes indeed.

  • @ghostwaverider Hate will cause you to lead a shitty short life. Did one of the members smash out your mom or something?

  • @ghostwaverider I bet you do the same old things every day at work too. That preconceived notion of the younger generation's curses isn't something you figured out yourself. I bet you believe that everyone liked Gaye, Franklin, Cook, Green and Charles when they started playing too. Whether you're looking for soulfulness or the lack thereof, you'll find what you're looking for. It's your own fault that you can't find the beauty in this music. James Cook said "a change is gonna come". Smoke that.

  • I watched them on Coachella, They fucking suck! why would Justin Vernon, Dessa, P.O.S. do such shit music. They put me to sleep and woke me up at the same time with there soulless music and out of tune vocals. AND FUCK AUTO TUNE!!!

  • was it really necessary to put these guys opposite the Chemical Brothers and Scala and Kolacny Bros (the girls choir singing Creep from the Social Network trailer). Why, Coachella, why?

  • thats ZacH COULTER on the beat box at 69bpm

  • 6 people live on the gaudy side of town

  • Why so much auto-tune? It's not like that on the album... I think they're too good for all that

  • soooooooooooooooooooooooooo relaxing

  • @arcanejazz this was the most boring comment i ever read.

  • @antraxptpt HURRRRRRRRRR

  • ;)

  • 4:19 Is that P.O.S.?

  • 4 people cant take a girl to the gaudy side of town.

  • bangin!

  • Vernon still sounds badass through a vocalizer.

  • hipster dudes singing in falsetto about pure sex at a tempo of 69bpm. that is why this is such a groove. its timeless ;)

  • 6:11

  • I thought they'd be black.

  • by all rights this should be vomit worthy...this should be the worst song OF ALL TIME...and yet it's weirdly compelling...

  • It's like a bunch of hipsters trying to be an autotune Greg Dulli.

  • First beat 1:40

  • OH MY FUCKING GOD. My mouth was wide open when I listened to this.

    My mind is FUCKING blown.

  • how many beards can you count on stage ? :)

  • lol the guy smoking a Joint at 1:24.. guess got to get into the groove of the song.. hah

  • This is absolutely awesome...never heard Gayngs until I was turned on to them recently...fantastic...just quality music

  • meatloaf on the sax at 6:38

  • the girl at 4:38 looks like the girl from 2:55 in the official "cry" video

  • @DigginTheGraves It is the same girl. Dessa from Doomtree.

  • its nice but I don't understand why they need 25-30 people to do it

  • @smibbo

Listen. The sound they are putting out is huge. I guess they could have digitally reproduced a lot, but what fun is that? I'd much rather have a big-band live experience. Many vocal tracks, many keyboards, a sick bass line, drums, guitar, etc....all that delay and reverb turned up....Man, I wouldn't have had that any other way.

  • @smibbo cause it was recorded in a somewhat unique way. look for interviews with ryan olson/gayngs, and he explains the process. he would make the skeleton of a song (drums and occasionally some synth), then bring in a bunch of bassists to do their thing. he would cut and paste their stuff around, picking the best parts. same for vox etc. it was a huge collaboration. and there are many parts to each song. plus, the whole thing is supposed to be an overblown spectacle anyway.

  • Smooooth... Silky smooooth.... Ohh Yeahhh......

  • only a few lyrics used auto tune, not the entire song. some people are so fucking touchy about stupid little things... this is quality porn music, loved it

  • Best [sex ] Album of the Year. Not only does it reek of sex jams... but ALL of the songs on the album are 69 BPM!

  • I love the fact that Justin of Bon Iver got back together with his old band who is now Megafaun, to do this collaboration with a bunch of other talented Midwesterners!

  • So fucking smooth.

  • 4:15 when the bass and guitar come in is pure awesomeness

btw, this video needs more goddamn views!

  • It's good song, very good in fact, but as someone said before: why autotune? I hate it. It sounds like fucking Lil Wayne :(

  • @LuqaS15 couldn't agree more, it sounds like complete crap, and right before the song ends too? wutupwitdat?

  • @LuqaS15 Ever think they did it to create a unique sound to make the song sound a bit more electronic? I think so. I'm a hardcore auto-tun hater, but in this case I am for it. It sounds awesome with the type of music they're playing.

  • @LuqaS15 You are like those people who bash all rap music and use Soulja Boy's name like he's the symbol of all rap.

  • Awesome post, thanks! These guys have an awesome smooth sound and I can tell that they are having fun. Bright future ahead for sure. So much great music out these days.

  • yeahhhhhhh

  • Is someone holding up a FourLoko at the end of the video?? I'd be dancing my ass off with one of those and this group playing music.

  • They must have been Hiiiiigh when they made this song. LOL

  • justin @ 6:09. yes please

  • who is the singer? not bon iver the guy at the piano... I tried to find out what band he played with but couldn't

  • @pestopalooza I know it's the singer from Solid Gold, but I don't know his name and I'm too lazy to look it up. Pretty dope cat, tho.

  • @SAwesome2 thanks so much

  • who's that girl 4:38?

    is she famous ?

  • @hsn312 Pretty sure that's Dessa, she's a part of the band, and comes from Doomtree along with P.O.S., who is also in the band.

  • @phillykraze there's something about the way she looks i cant figure it out. I checked some of her music on youtube .. she's not bad! Thanks..

  • i thought they were good until i saw them live. not good. not good at all

  • That is not Justin Vernon with the long red hair getting out of the truck that looks like Jesus!! That is Joe Westerlund, the drummer from Megafaun!!!! He is ultra-hippie cool!

  • coolest tunes ever !!! and great vocals too, awesome !!!!!!!

  • didnt know bill hader was such a crooning pimp supergroup musician

  • This is so fucking awesome!... Simples!!!

  • Justin Vernon might be the reincarnated Jesus.

  • yep i knew it, that was epic

  • i love this song, but the autotune really sucks imo. they sing fine why do they need to use that, so pointless.

  • 6:24 what means that gesture?

  • great, chilling atmosphere. I like this two-sided video footage.

  • can't believe that's justin vernon

  • Would have been something to see this live.

  • A super group that just wreaks of soul and wreaks havoc
