  • from first pic, fake----the correct cuts are etched in our minds--you'd think they could match them....but oh well

  • fake fake fake fake !!!!

  • FAKE FAKE FAKE

  • fake

  • Check for binding on the edge of the frets on the fretboard. If the frets are clean with no binding on the edge / side of the neck then its a fake.

  • fake on the back real gibsons dont have a sticker like that on thke nob plate

  • fake, because the gibson its more small

  • Yep, fake. The distance from the D string winder to the "G" in Gibson (way too far) is typical of the Chinese replica's.

  • Total FAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • real

  • fake buy them from china, $270

  • fake. original serial number is pressed/stamped in the wood. Fake is much larger numbers and it is routed out

  • fake too large a gap between the tailpiece and bridge also bridge has no wheel adjustments on each side...

  • this one is real fake! made in china.

  • FAKE !!!

  • FAKE FAKE FAKE ........MABY THE DINGOS ATE YOUR GIBSON !

  • Fake. Gibson Doesn't engrave serial number's and made in u.s.a on back of headstock. They brand it in.If you remove the pickups they won't say gibson they will have epiphone name on the under side.

  • @mm42168 acctually it haves engraved serial number and it says made in usa.

Not all, but the one i orded have it.

  • buy it its still nice

  • just look at the pickups and the font for on the word standard GIBSUN LESS PAUL

  • Come on, it's a "GIBSUN" not a Gibson, get a clue!!!

  • @betternyou If you're talking about the logo, the "b" and the "o" are supposed to be open. Check a real one and you'll see.

  • FAKE... TOTALLY!!!

  • StandarD!!! =))))

  • fake

  • fake as katy prices boobs

  • its fake worth about 200

  • WHAT PRICE DOES IT SELL IT TO YOU?

  • oui cette une fausse car le "G" de Gibson n'est pas comme sa et la forme de la pièce ou il y a écrit standard n'est pas comme sa non plus je peux te l'assurer ;)

  • Do a web search for the serial number. You'll find pics of several guitars with the exact same serial number. Doh!

  • I've seen this fake

  • this finishing work not really good...(i think) but you can feel when you touch and play it... how about the serial number in head stock, it look real?? man, you can make it in simple click with CNC machine...not a big deal... but if that price below 200$ you should buy it... and change the pickup with original gibson..it look cool on stage...i think noone will recognized it...

  • you get what you pay for ,provided you know what your getting.

  • Not only is it fake, it's poorly strung, and not setup properly. I could make a good sounding guitar out of it, but not without a lot of work and some better quality parts. Good that you checked first. Now, bear in mind, there's nothing wrong with a fair wannabe copy, so long as it has the maker's name on it. Ones that pretend to be Gibsons and put the name on it, that's just so wrong.

  • Fake as they get, though they tried hard to make it seem real. Everything is wrong, but only by a little bit. Serial number and Made in USA is nice touch, but all wrong. HOWEVER if the price is right, get it. It can be a good guitar ... however I highly recommend you paint over the Gibsun name on the headstock, and not go around with a Gibsun name on an obvious fake. That's right, it might just be a real Gibsun, but not a Gibson.

  • looks a mean fake, I'd buy it but at a price, gibson's are over-priced (everyone knows its it thats why they pump out guitars at 1k + ) Real players only pay for tone not heritage, let me try it and i'll say a price

  • REAL!!!! ... Bazzinga! Lol

  • Easy to see that is a Fake.Warnig to all you guys dont buy from this seller HIHAGUITAR:

  • Totally fake. You can tell on the opening shot of the body. And that headstock is totally wrong. I hope you didn't buy it.

  • fake

  • really worse fake.. the form of the body is not like an original..

the gibson logo is a other

les paul and stadart are lockin like a piece of shit

the mechanics have to be gibson deluxe

  • Heyyy dude i know a guy who works for Esp and i have a few fakes there amazing and look very very real but yours is defiantly a fake sorry :/

  • Faker than a porn stars boobs.

  • love the cutaway!!! 100% sweet&sour porkespaul!!!

  • Fake, dude! Go to tradetang.

  • My first response was 'fake'. I don't know....the sunburst just doesn't look right (I think a real Gibson 'burst would have tapered more naturally) and the back has an uneven 'orange-peel' look to it. Just a first impression.

  • Its a Fake. You can tell by the first picture, which clearly shows a space, which is too large, between the stop-bar tail piece and the bridge. The volume and tone knobs are misaligned. The neck pick up surround looks bigger than the bridge pick up surround. looking at the picture of the headstock, you acn tell that the lettering of the Gibson logo is to broad. If you want the genuine article my friend this is not it.

  • Fake 100%!!!

  • After reviewing the first image for a total of 1.045 seconds I have determined this guitar is 100% fake... My leading to do so is the fact that the control knobs are NOT paralleled, They are offset. Concluding this is NOT a genuine Gibson guitar.

  • Meaning its now affordable for most of us hard working laborers to own an American made Gibson.....

Yeah we could all buy fakes, but personally in the back of my mind I would know its fake, I would be unsure of what wood its made of, and in 50 years it will only be worth 50 bucks, as the real Gibsons that reach that age (are real.....lol)

  • I can tell its fake as first, it has Epiphone style pick up surrounds, second Gibson rarely ever stamp out the serial number AFTER the guitar is sprayed (meaning most Gibsons have paint in the serial number from when it was sprayed and thirdly you could go to a reputable shop and buy a Gibson for $1000 these days, re: the 1950's - 1960's series (unbound necks) which they are selling most likely to stem the trade in fraudulent guitars, as most buyers of fakes want to swap the crap china hardware.

  • i would say its real but every one else says its fake so i gess its fake

  • open up the covers on the back. and compare tose to some internet photo's. the text on the thussrod cover is to fat. the neck should have an 7 deg angle. and the burst also seems a little weitrd to me. same goes for the tuners. problably fake

  • fake ... just look at the body and you'll see what i mean

  • FAAAAAKE

  • Fake!

  • could tell it wasn't a gibson right away by the burst finish.

  • definitely fake already from a distance see you tube How To Spot a Fake Gibson--- Basics

  • Sorry mate, it's a total fake. Even with the zoomed-out video I can tell there is almost nothing about it that's correct. Your $1000 can buy three of these, with cases, delivered.

  • not a bad immitation........Sorree Joe it a fake.......

  • Fake as crap...look at the truss rod cover

  • its a fake...see my ace frehley chinese les paul review !

  • sry but fake

  • If you read the sticker it has a load of spelling errors

  • If you read the sticker it has a shitload of spelling errors, dead giveaway

  • Another giveaway is the frets: the neck binding should cover them.

  • HAHAHA I've got a confirmed fake Les Paul and the Serial Number on mine is 00170425. They're brothers...

  • 100% fake. the serial number is painted and doesn't exist form Gibson DB, also the Made in USA is in a wrong position (USA is not center) the sticker on the back. Also the angle of the bridge is wrong. Don't buy this guitar.

  • Busca el serial que esta atras del mango para ver si es original (read this)

  • With the recent heat our government is putting on Gibson about wood (like big deal), they should go after these cheap knockoff manufacturers. Now there`s a crime for ya!

At every angle it`s just wrong. And the worst part is, unsuspecting (and unknowing) people are the victims. Prosecute those companies!

  • Just by it`s looks (workmanship/finish/hardware), something not quite right about it. Gus23a is right with his info.

The dead giveaway to me was the massively fake looking serial number with the made in USA stamp. I have 2 Gibson LPCustoms by the way.

  • fake, I should know as I got scammed by a fat git from Dundee for a grand who makes a lot of money from mugs like me. he starts by saying, "I know nothing about guitars, I got it in a swap for an icecream van or some other shit

  • fake

  • fake

  • FAKEEEE ! " standard " is written badly , the body is a lil bit different and the color are bad

  • I think its fake to i dont think they say standard on the head like that

  • its real

  • now look into the cavities. if they are painted black, its a fake. gibson never paints the cavities. neither the pickup cavity, nor the potentiometer cavity and toggle switch cavity. there may be some overspray paint and some clear lacquer but no black paint. at least try to put some authorized gibson spare parts on it. they wont fit, nor would the pickup rings.

    i hope this helps.

    greez,

    gus

  • this guitar is fake. you can tell it simply by looking at the headstock. first of all, the tuners have no brandname on them. the serial number is a real number, but on a real gibson it would be in a smaller font. its the same with the "made in usa"-stamp. now take some measurements. from the nut to the "wings" it should be about 1 1/2 inches. across the "wings" it should be 2 7/8 inches. from the nut to the top it sholub measure 6 7/8 inches. part 2 --->

  • that guitar is more fake than Pamela Anderson's tits

  • sorry for you but it's a fake gibson :/

  • Custom shop does ink the serial, such as R9 XXXXX on the back, but nowhere does it say standard or anything else. Tuners....way wrong.

  • its def fake, you can tell by the disproportioned headstock and the how the knobs dont line up

  • Has to much quality to be American made.

  • It is fake. You can tell my the alignment of the knobs, and the top where the strings attatch to the tuning pegs. IF you dont know exactly w hat your looking for you can be fooled easily, but the alignment of real gibsons are immaculate and straight. It also on the frets, you can tell usually, but that is alittle harder. They are getting really good at making fake ones. The sticker is not real. If you take it off and look inside the truss rod, you should see a metal nut.

  • Fake made in China my friend !

  • says supreme on the back and standard on the headstock, knobs arn't original either, its a fake.

  • is replica copy

  • Of course is fake!!!

  • Fake. I work at Gibson Guitars USA on Massman Drive.Nashville Tn.37210 and I can tell you that that is a fake Gibson, First the trus rod cover has the wrong font , we do not paint the serial number or made in the USA, also the decal on the electrical box is wrong, Sorry dude hope you did not pay alot for it.

  • the tuning keys need to say "gibson deluxe" and that sticker on the back is a dead giveaway.

  • fake the knobs dont say gibson deluxe

  • Real because it has only 2 screws on the headstock fakes have 3

  • @RockhopperCP100 Not true. The fakes from years ago had 3 truss rod cover screws, but not anymore.

  • dats definatly fake. the body is misshapen and les paul standards never come with custom shop stickers, let alone shitty chinese stickers

  • fake, the finish and the knobs give it away right away as well as the other things people r mentioning here im sure

  • Fake

  • Fake

  • fake.. I have 3.. the sticker is the giveaway.. don;;t pay over 300 hundred if you really want it

  • yery fake the headstock gibson logo is too far fron the top left tuning key

  • Hahaha it's a fake. and a really poor made, there are some gibson copys that look really nice, this one doesn't even have the correct Les Paul measures, looks like a piece of shit really, kick that guy who is tryng to sell it in the ass.

  • The shape is little wierd , also serial number is little bit bigger ....to me ....this guitar smells like chinese copy very bad ^_^

  • fake, china copy... buy one in tradetang for 300 bucks (with hardcase)

  • FAKE AND GAY

  • The stiker on the back is not a real gibson sticker it's Chinese I can tell just buy looking at. It if you dont beleve me message me I'm on face book tim Trost there Is a pic of me with my real gibson les Paul oh yeah how much did your buddy want for it ?

  • @Gibson9698 thanks a lot. i do believe you. he wanted 1000u$ for it.

  • @madafakaGNR but it sure looks good anyway :P

  • @madafakaGNR the certa number is wrong

  • @madafakaGNR Fake! If it were a real Gibson it wouldn't have that sticker on the back.Your friend is a real ass dude.Hope you didn't buy it!

  • @madafakaGNR Damn, dude! He was going to stick it to ya (if he knew)! $1000 would be a decent price for an actual Gibson, but not for a Chinese copy straight off the TradeTang website.

  • DO NOT BUY THIS I WAS VERY CLOSE TO LOSING 1500 dollars used. Luckily I got my money back after looking at it with my dad a wise old rocker. The stiker on the back plate yeah that's a Chinese fake Gibson company but yeah do. Not buy this please don't do it to your self I do not want you to go threw wat i went threw

  • thumbs up if you think this git is fake!

  • @ddos411 i know it is fake for a fact the third and fifth number is wrong that how we date les pauls

  • The shape/burstfinish is kinda weird, can't decide.

Also weird serial.. and I don't if american made Gibsons (the real ones) comes with that sticker. Might be asian.

  • the serial number inscription and the font of the gibson logo are weird...
