What Arnold action movie is that song from? The Running Man? Or is it from a video game Flash Back that was based on an Arny movie Total Recall. No . . it's from Escape From New York right!? :) It's driving me crazy.
I thought Humberto was bad here (Beaumont) but right on the coast, that's scary. Glad you got through it ok. I didn't know it was a hurricane heading this way except that I couldn't sleep and had the TV on.
If you live in Beaumont you recognized the hotel we went to, at the end of the clip. We usually do our weekly shopping there, cuz there sure isn't much on the peninsula.
Yeah, it gets pretty scary. We've been through 3 hurricanes now, and sometimes the waves crash over the seaward deck and water slams against the french doors - but our home is up high on pylons so the excess usually flows under the house... it has so far, anyway.
This is exactly how it was. It was a normal day. Only way I found out about Humberto was a stranger at the store was talking about it. I had no idea that it was even forming. Some people didn't even know it came through until the next morning when school districts were shut down, and there was damage everywhere. Thank God it wasn't another Rita!
Thanks. I had thought about making a video of all the damage - but I figured there would be lots of stuff like that so I went in the other direction. I just wish Humberto had made landfall during daylight hours. Maybe next time. (BTW Loren, I clicked through to your channel. You have a great singing voice.)
We didn't leave until the following day, after the hurricane had already passed. We left because the power was off and the water was bad. But we drove back each morning to take care of the cats and work around the property. We felt it would be less disruptive to their lives to leave them in familiar surroundings. Thanks for your comments... Max
It was a great video. I understand i have cats and dogs and a turtle i had since i was thirteen years old. It must have been scary for you and your family. Im glad everything turned out okay.
Looks like you have another cat! I almost spit my coffee out laughing when the dog sneezed! You didn't lose anyone, did you? (cats get terrified and escape) the Holiday Inn was a great move-dogs looked thrilled to be there! Thanks for another great video! Perfect way to start my day! Terry
OMG I hope y'all are alright after Ike. Road this one out in a mobile home in Vidor. Had no idea it was coming until I heard it.
