Since the specific heat capacity of pure water is high,it takes time to boil.but if water is a mixture of salts in it,boiling temperature will be less,so it will get heated up.when taking nuclear power plant in account,it is heated up i guess,so water automatically had meet the specific heat capacity,so how much ever water is added,it is not cooling down

That is probably what is responsible for the high levels of radiation. It just seems too coincidental that the only reactor to have the high level radiation readings would and also be the only one to contain mox fuel would be the third reactor.

Also, at 9:40. They said they need to continue to cool the fuel for three or four YEARS? I'm confused. Is that a mistranslation?

@SmileyVlog no mistranslation, fuel rods are cooled in those pools for 10+ years and need at least 2-4 for the rod temp to drop significantly. the pool that is in question has only had the rods in in sense 2010 its needs more time.

Once you build the reactor and start operating, fuel needs to be cooled for ever. When they separate fuel rods, nuclear reactions are not exist anymore. MOX is fuel mixed with uranium and plutonium oxide (not clean fuel used in thermonuclear bombs) which plutonium oxide is only 6 % of fuel maximum.

@sagemakaiserxl its not the same type of meltdown...the reason the land around chernobyl is so messed up is the rods produced a graphite dust that was carried by the cloud and dropped all over...This plant does not use a graphite moderator. Even if the worst case happens its will be NOTHING like Chernobyl. Its still a good time to start praying to your respective gods, Cuz positive thinking does in fact help these kids of situations. THE WORLD IS WITH YOU JAPAN, KEEP WORKING YOU CAN FIX THIS!

I went around my school today with a jar without anybody knowing I came in with it asking for spare change they would like to donate to Japan and I ended up collecting $45.92 in quarters,Dimes, nickles,pennies and even dollar bills. People were so genrous to give, and now that people know what i am doing they are brining in even more money tommorow. This means that Japan naturally experiences many small earthquakes throughout the year. This one is bad because it was such a large tectonic shift, causing the large earthquake. Humans at the present don't have much control over the planets geothermal mechanics, it's just an unfortunate act of nature :(
